More than delicious greek/​Mediterranean food!!! Best gyro ive ever had in my life and the greek fries are the most delicious thing ever! Great service, good prices and also get food very quickly!

We order mr gyros at work all the time and it is always delicious. It is the best hummus I’ve ever consumed in my whole life — you can buy it at big and small stores or try to make it and nothing comes even close. Great service and even better food. I would include a picture of my food but I’ve already scarfed it down because it was so amazing

The food was absolutely amazing. The signage was extremely helpful, the hummus was absolutely amazing. Be prepared for the full Greek atmosphere when making your order.

Not bad Gyros– there are better in Grand Rapids– but it could be the best drive through food around Alpine.

Somehow this review slipped through the cracks, I had went there a few months back, the menu is full of authentic Mediterranean options, but being that the place is named Mr Gyro, I had the gyro. The bread was fine, the meat good, but the cucumber sauce was overpowering, with a taste that clashed with the rest of the gyro. I ultimately ended up just eating the gyro meat with as little sauce as possible.

I tried the gyro and cucumber sauce today and it was really good. Reasonably priced. I asked the cucumber sauce to be placed on the side and they did it without any trouble. I liked it.

I’m shocked at the bad reviews! I got takeout last Sunday night for my dad, daughters, and me and the food was delicious. The owner could not have been more friendly and helpful, and offered my daughters samples to see if they liked things.
The menu is GREAT for my family, since we have one who likes mediterranean food, one who likes bagel sandwiches, one who likes burgers, and a vegetarian. I got the hummus pita and it was extremely filling and tasty. The hummus was good, it had enough veggies, and the pita was soft and fresh. One daughter got a turkey and cheese bagel sandwich and liked it. The other daughter got a beef/​lamb pita. She said there was too much meat for her, but I think she just meant that she got too full. My dad got the deluxe pita and it was gigantic. He liked it. I also got him a pc of kibbe, which he liked.
I can’t speak to the cucumber sauce since my hummus pita didn’t have any on it, but the hummus was great, and the service was very friendly. While we were waiting for our food, a couple walked up. The owner recognized them and said, «Hey, it’s been a while.» They replied that they’d moved to Oklahoma a year ago, but were back visiting. They said their first stop after checking in to the hotel was to visit the restaurant. The owner remembered what they’d want to order — after a year!

I don’t like this place. I agree the cucumber sauce is all wrong and is responsible for nearly ruining the whole meal. I will not be going back even if only to try another dish. Do they really think they are selling quality and value? I hope not

Management/​workers are rude. I was cut off several times while trying to ask questions and then a take out menu was thrown in my face and the window shut. The gyros were heavily loaded with cucumber sauce and the meat was nothing to brag about. By far the WORST gyro and fries I have ever had.
Chicago Style Gyro and Eastern Deli are the places to go for GOOD service and food. DO not go here… you will be severely disappointed!
Also, their hours of operation are false… they are open when they want to be so good luck trying to plan a time to go there if you really feel the need to waste your money.

Awesome Gyros!!! Made to Order Generous portions. They make their own Cucumber Sauce (Sour Cream Base), Hummos, Greek Dressing and much more.
It’s simple food made from scratch. You will taste the all the ingredients in the sauce like the garlic because it’s not watered down nor packed with chemical preservatives.
They use authentic Greek bread and cut the Meat off the cone and drop the fries when order is placed. No Fries waiting in the warmer and NO SALT added to the Fries. It’s a Drive-​Thru but NOT FAST FOOD it’s Good Food Made Fast.
Must Try Items: The Gyro, Hummos (It’s Topped w/​vegetables), Greek Fries (Feta, Parsley & Dressing), Cheese Fries, Kibbe, Baklava.

Okay guys. I’m like a gyro FIEND so when I saw this place was opening along this bare-​bones stretch of Alpine I was hopeful.
I would not come back here. There are WAY better gyro options in town. I’m sorry but this is NOT authentic Greek fare.
Not the greasiest gyro meat I’ve had but still pretty greasy. The pita wasn’t bad but not very fresh, and the cucumber sauce… well, it needs its own paragraph.
This cucumber sauce (tzatziki) is horrible. Usually this sauce is made with greek yogurt (or sour cream for more American versions.) This tastes like over-​garliky cream cheese. It was WAY over powering and disgusting. I LOVE tzatziki so this made me very sad.
Drive a little further south, turn left on Leonard and look for the yellow sign for Chicago Style Gyro… you’ll thank me, I promise :)
