We loved this place! The food was awesome! My husband got the goloush. It was in a HUGE bowl. It could have been a meal in itself. The beer was good, but honestly it was more geared to my husband who likes dark beers and people who like IPAs. The service was outstanding and polite. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants a hipster bar with good beer and food. Btw the art there is super cool.

Got in to GR late on a Friday night and went straight here. They were still serving food past 930pm which was great. Ordered the special of the evening which was a rabbit sausage with potatoes and a rabbit gravy. It was out of this world. Great flavor and not your average sausage. For dessert we had the strudel. It was the best dessert I’ve ever had at a brewery. So buttery and flaky and a homemade whipped cream on top. As for beer it was pretty damn good too. Enjoyed the crossroads and the ollenboilen(sp?) we also tried a flight which was super cheap at $ 7 for the whole flight. They have a fully functioning bar if you’re with someone who doesn’t like beer. Would definitely recommend this place for interesting food and good brews.

Good brews. Very good food. Slow service. Hopefully it will improve as they get themselves more together.

What to expect: (01) An awesome industrial yet rustic space –the first floor is your traditional bar, while the upstairs is more of a dining feel with the communal tables. (02) A lovely beer list with good variety for the craft crowd — may I suggest the Black Squirrel for those looking for the right wintry porter? (03) A great menu twist fusing the sausages with other cuisines — I give the green curry chicken two thumbs up. (04) More food twists — Harmony Hall has a salad with spaetzle, a tradition German noodle. I wish I had thought of it first! As a space that brings people together to eat and drink, I give you my blessing, Harmony Hall.

Had a beer, wife had a salad, I had a Polish sausage. All quite good. Sat upstairs by the windows. Enjoyed it. Glad we stopped back.

As I sit here amongst the wall of 32 taps and full bar selection, I find myself enjoying a delightful schnitzel surrounded by pleasant people. Needless to say, the atmosphere, beer, food, staff, and crowd are all above average. «It is the gem among the west side establishments.» –Weston

Harmony Hall opened several months ago right down the street from my house, and so far, it’s been packed, as in there is very little street parking for a solid two blocks almost every evening. I am actually a huge fan of Harmony’s Grapefruit Moon, a very light and sweet beer that goes down much too easily. It’s also pretty fantastic to have a brewery within walking distance from my house, but unfortunately, the prices are a bit out of our budget to make drinking there a routine. We’d love to join their mug club when we can afford it, and if if you’re interested in drinking quality beer on a weekly basis, I’d highly recommend it. Being a mug club member means you get $ 1 off your beer purchase every time you dine in. The food is also very unique. Entrees are a variety of unique sausage recipes inspired by different cuisines. There’s a cajun style sausage, for example. They also offer a vegetarian option for sausages(yay!). The building was formerly a sausage factory(West Side had a large Polish community in the past), so Harmony Hall styled their menu after that. Ask your waitstaff about it! I’m sure they’d be happy to explain the history! My favorite dish is actually an appetizer that I just double to make my entrée: the veggie pancakes with carrot sauce. Yes, it is in fact more delicious than it sounds. Also, FYI, the kitchen closes fairly strictly after 9:30 p.m. so it isn’t a good beer-and-app restaurant for you night owls.

First of all, I absolutely loved the interior of Harmony Hall. The first floor dining area is pretty small, but the upstairs is huge and the atmosphere is great. It feels like you’re in a castle, from the arches to the storage area where the mug club mugs are kept. My group and I sat at a huge rustic table that was really cool. There is a bar in the upstairs area as well as several booths and other tables. The beer selections at Harmony Hall are more varied than the selections at Harmony in Eastown, but the beer still is just not up to par with some of my other favorite breweries in town. A few people in my party commented on the beer in a less than flattering way. In particular, the smoked porter was way too in-your-face smoky, in a bad way. It tasted like burnt charcoal. I had the grapefruit moon, their version of a grapefruit IPA. It’s a step down from Perrin’s grapefruit IPA. The food, however, was great! We shared some barmix, which has Cheez-its, sesame sticks, peanuts and these little pretzel things. It was simple but really good and great to snack on. The menu is mostly hand-cranked, homemade sausages with a few salads and other dishes. I opted for the bulgogi sausage, which was awesome! It had really great flavor and was a bit spicy. My boyfriend got the hopwurst, which wasn’t my favorite. It wasn’t as cheesy as I thought it would be, and the slaw was a bit too sweet for me. The sausages all come on large buns with chips(you can upgrade for fries) and a side. I wasn’t super excited about the sides, as two are potato salads when you’re already getting chips or fries. I wish they had some more veggie side options. Overall, I was really happy with the meal but I do wish they offer sausages a la carte(and without the large buns) so you could try more kinds! An

I have been anticipating the opening of this place for quite some time now. I knew before walking into the place, that from a few photos I was seeing here and there, I was going to love the décor. I loved the décor. The tall ceilings, open spaces and artwork painted on the walls is something to see for yourself. The tap list was a lot more than I expected. They can definitely offer out more beers at this location which was great to see and it not be just a replica of Harmony on the other side of town. I enjoyed the flight I shared with someone, which included beers I wouldn’t have thought of trying, but surprisingly I enjoyed them. Basically that means, styles I don’t particularly like, I did like from Harmony Hall! I knew the food variety wasn’t going to be a thing. I knew they were a sausage place, but they definitely had a great variety of different sausages to try from. The Chicken Sausage was good. I have no complaints. The service is where I think this place is lacking a bit. Hopefully with time, they will work out the kinks and get it to be a smooth running machine. Some examples of my bad rating for service, were upon walking in the hostess did not seem like she wanted to be there at all. No smile, immediately just asked me if I wanted to sit upstairs or downstairs. I had no idea since I didn’t know what the difference was. I asked, she unenthusiastically explained. We decided to go upstairs. The server was knowledgable but didn’t check in on us enough as I would have liked. It took a long time for us to get our bill… it was obvious we were done for awhile. It was not busy so no excuse there. I really want to give it 3.5 stars and more stars in general but the service was just not what I think is concerned good service! I will be back to see if there are improvements!

5 stars for the beer, 4.5 stars for atmosphere, 4 stars for food taste, and 3 for service and the type food offered on the menu. If my math serves me correctly, that’s 4 stars give or take. 5 stars for beer: they have three different tiers of beer offerings with everything from light IPA’s to heavy stouts and nitros. The first floor bar offers a limited drink menu, while the upstairs/2nd floor has the food menu and a full drink menu. Harmony is legit one of my top favorite breweries in Grand Rapids and I’m happy to have their beer whenever I can. 4.5 stars for décor: I am one of the very few Grand Rapids residents that never went to the former restaurant, Little Mexico, that was in this building prior, but I’m told the funky art work found throughout is left over from that. The vibe of harmony today is fun and casual with family style tables(i.e. You sit next to strangers at a big long table). 4 stars food: To be different, I tried the veggie sausage and my husband got a normal polish sausage. My veggie sausage was good– much better than I thought a veggie sausage would be. It was just on the small size. My husband thought his polish sausage was okay but he found the bun to be too«bready». He said he would’ve liked it to be served just as straight meat, no bun. Fries were super salty and floppy in a good way. 3 stars food offering selection: I knew going in that they are positioning themselves as a beer hall/sausage place but I was still bummed that they didn’t have their famous pizza on the menu(you need to go to their eastown location to get the pizza). The food selection is limited and the portion size would be perfect for lunch or a lighter dinner. 3 stars for service: Everyone I’ve met here is so nice. Seriously, very friendly but on both of my visits our server didn’t seem to know the menu, did not return to check on us, and took awhile to get checks. On my first visit the server messed up our order and brought us two order of fries. She didn’t take off the mistaken 2nd order as promised, leading me to hunt down the manager on a busy Friday night. He was super nice about the whole thing and took the extra order off our bill but it was an inconvenience for both of us. Despite, I know I’ll be back because I am currently falling in love with the West Side of Grand Rapids. I’m thrilled that a great local brewery is in this up and coming hot spot.
