Brindle & Blonde

An update to my earlier review because I had a keratin treatment and, in doing my research prior to having this done, I was hard pressed to find many reviews from people who’d actually had this done.
As I’ve mentioned before, I have very thick, kinky-​curly hair that is about to my shoulders when I wear it curly. I think, if I tried straightening it without the treatment, it would take me a good 1 ½−2 hours and it wouldn’t even be worth it; my natural texture just doesn’t lend itself to looking sleek and smooth after being flat ironed. This is why I decided to take the plunge and have Erin do the treatment. The nice thing about this treatment is that it doesn’t damage my hair. If anything, my hair feels healthier (that’s probably what it’s supposed to do, but I can’t remember). I’d say it’s totally worth what I spent on the treatment just to finally be able to have a choice of whether I want to wear my hair straight or curly. I mean, it is still pretty curly but even so it is softer, more manageable, and the curls are looser. It also takes half the time to straighten, and the texture is amazing.

Amazing salon! Jamie completely saved my hair that was ruined by a previous haircut. She took her time, and was really kind and understanding. I will now get my haircut here all of the time!

I have a hard rule against reviewing a stylist/​hair salon until I’ve had at least two cuts. After the requisite two chances here, I’m still looking for my go-​to stylist in town. Erin G cut my hair twice and while she did an adequate job, I felt as though she rushed through the cuts (finishing in less than half the time it took my beloved stylist in Detroit). I left feeling very «meh» on both visits and like every girl, I want to leave the hair salon feeling like a million bucks.
It’s a cool space, they use great products, and service was always friendly. I’m willing to admit that I’m a hard to please haircut customer, but I would skip this salon, or at least choose a different stylist there.

I love this saon! Every stylist there is great at what they do. Ann Van Weaver has been my stylist for a while and I have always had the best experiences with her. She is not only great at what she does but is a sweet person too! She has done correctional color on me and made something beautiful out of a mess-​up I did a while back. She is also great with extensions & knows what’s best for your hair. Brindle & Blonde is small enough to give you the personal attention you need but still has the big city feel because they have the best products & tactics. The best salon ever.

First time here after trying for 10 months (and two other places) to replace my stylist I had in Chicago. Christopher Michael. He is probably a mad scientist inside an artist. I told him what was going wrong with my hair, and he analyzed it, figured it out, and gave me my healthy hair back. So yes, I am giving this place 5 stars. I am no more brittle head any longer!

The most talented stylists in Grand Rapids with clients who have followed them for years. The salon is beautiful and relaxing, a great escape from the craziness of life. Everyone at Brindle & Blonde goes out of their way to make the experience personal and unique.

Long time RAVING fan of the stylists who opened this salon. Glad they a new place to call home and it is beautiful, inviting, and carries the BEST brands. I love getting hair cuts, custom color extensions, and advice from my girl, Whitney but the other stylists here are fantastic as well.
I highly recommend Brindle & Blonde and considering ½ a dozen of my besties go here too — I’d push that it goes without saying we love it! Guys and girls alike — this is a stellar salon in Grand Rapids.
