Ryan was the primary instructor for my 16 year old Son. They started training in the J3 and moved to the C172. Ryan did a fantastic job and was completely professional the entire time. I also had Ryan give me some dual when i purchased my 1948 Cessna 170. I would recommend Ryan for anyone seeking a tail dragger training or an endorsement or wanting to learn to fly. He truly is an exceptional caring instructor.

Ryan was very patient with me as a new pilot as he taught me how to fly a tailwheel. He was a pleasure to work with and I only wish I had had more time (I was visiting from Florida). I know that the abilities he taught will make me a better pilot regardless of the type of plane!

Great school! Instructor Ryan taught me how to fly in a Piper J3 Cub, tail dragger for the real learning experience. He got me to my solo and well on my way to a sport pilot license before I had to ship out for the US Coast Guard.
I really enjoyed my experience there and the professionalism I encountered.

Ryan is the person to go to for tailwheel training. He is well known all over south and central Texas as one of the best. I’ve flown with him numerous times in four different types of airplanes and his style of instructing and level of competence are great. I highly recommend him for anyone from student to flight review.

Quite possibly the best flight instructor I’ve flown with. I had the pleasure of doing a flight review with Ryan in a J3 Cub and it was a great experience. Ryan is passionate about general aviation and flight instruction and is an excellent tailwheel instructor. I’d recommend Texas Tailwheel to any pilot — whether your a student pilot working on a private license, or an experienced airline captain looking to get more proficient in a classic tailwheel aircraft. In summary, 5 stars isn’t enough.
