Mixed Up Burgers

Don’t think I would try this place again. The burgers sound so good in the descriptions and the reviews were so great about this place so I figured why not? Well, I should’ve just keep scrolling through the list of near by places. The first thing I notice walking in is a stench in the air. Can’t put my hands on it but it wasn’t pleasant. The babies were hungry so we just stayed. It’s self seating so we grabbed a table and I had to get my own high chair. I know this has nothing to do with the food but let me just say this, that high chair was so sticky and dirty it scared me to touch it. All of them were like that. We all ordered a different burger to try out their options. Basically every single burger was dry and over cooked and it took so long just to get it. I’m not over exaggerating when I say this, it literally took us 45 minutes to an hour. The poor guy sitting next to us didn’t even get any type of service the whole hour we waited for our food. They barely acknowledged him after we got our food. Nice of him to wait, I wouldn’t have. The sad thing is, this place wasn’t even busy for the lack of cleanliness or service.

Food was great! Got the dirty homewrecker with sweet potato fries. Service was good and atmosphere is perfect for watching a game or food stop before the game!

Just stumbled onto Mixed Up Burgers today. Placed a to go order by phone, Arrived about 10 minutes later to a very clean establishment. Was greeted promptly, service was great, food was packaged perfectly with condiments on the side. Got back to my office and discovered that the burgers, fries and onion rings are fantastic! Will be going back soon!

–All-​mixed up sampler — mac bites, mozzarella moons, corn nuggets, teriyaki boneless wings $ 12. The best of the sampler were the mozzarella moons and the corn nuggets. The teriyaki sauce was insanely salty, I could only eat one.
–Seasoned curly fries $ 3 — underwhelming, not as crispy or flavorful
–Joe shmoe burger consists of cheddar, bacon, shrooms and mixed up seasoning. The burger is a mix of all the ingredients listed. How’s it taste? Extremely salty. I couldn’t finish half the ¼ lb burger.

On a recent visit I ordered a burger and a beer for $ 8.12,charged it to my card and left a cash tip, the credit card receipt clearly stated CASH TIP. Upon arriving back to Abilene I noticed my card had been charged for a $ 20.00 tip. I emailed the owner and asked politely to get my money back, he said he would be glad to and that it happens sometimes. (Which was a bit strange to me.) I called back the next day and asked for the status of my return and the owner, Kyle, said he had spoken with his staff and that he was not going to return my money to me. I have several conversations recorded between the owner and myself and the way he treats his paying customers is beyond appalling. The owner also refused to give me a copy of my receipt that was turned in by the staff, stating that it was his property. If there wasn’t a discrepancy with the receipt I do not understand why I could not get a copy. Considering the owner stated on a recorded conversation that this has happened at his establishment several times: BUYER BEWARE, DO NOT PAY WITH A CARD. Customer service at its worst.

Awesome burgers! If your tired of the same ol’ burgers and wanna get something different, this is it! It doesn’t look like much from the outside but once you get inside, the atmosphere and service is great!

We sat in here for about an hour after ordering before we got our food. We had to have them bag it up for us to take to go, because they made us late coming back from lunch. About 30 min after we placed the order they came and told us they were out of chicken. Something that would have been nice to know sooner. The burger wasn’t even good, plus it was overpriced. Booooooooo…

Finally tried Mix up burgers and I love it ! they have beer on tap, and big burgers. The bread on the burgers is sooo soft and good ! will be back

The burgers here are actually really good, but I saw the kitchen and it wasn’t really clean so I stopped going. Full disclosure — I haven’t been back in about a year so things may have changed.

The food is consistently great here! Never had a bad experience! I do recommend grabbing an appetizer before your meal, if you’re hungry when you come in. The burgers are made fresh, & sometimes take a while to prepare. Also, avoid if you’re rushed! Half price burgers for dine in on Tuesday, & family movie nights! I could go on! The best part is you have several burgers to choose from, or build your own, & they mix your ingredients right into the burger patty!

We’ve been going to Mixed-​Up Burgers for several years, ever since we sampled their burgers at «A Taste of Grand Prairie» at QuikTrip Park. I had never had a burger with the ingredients mixed into the patty before grilling, but that is now my preferred burger preparation!
I started with the Shackadelic, which has bacon, Swiss cheese, and mushrooms. Now I request a mix of green chilies, bacon, and provolone in my burgers. Delicious! My favorite side dish is the sweet potato fries, which also serves as kind of a dessert.
We’ve gotten to know Lisa, one of the wait staff, as well as Kyle, the owner. Most of the wait staff remember us, though we don’t visit more than a couple of times per month.
We have brought many guests here: Grand Prairie AirHogs baseball players, Fort Worth Brahmas hockey players, as well as friends and family. Every single person raved about their burgers!
No, it’s NOT fast food, but it’s scrumptious… try the Yardbird, a marinated chicken filet sandwich for a change from beef. The atmosphere is friendly, where people strike up conversations with one another, even if they don’t know each other, though this isn’t intrusive at all. There’s a camaraderie that is hard to describe.

Visiting the Arlington area I wanted to try something I’ve never had before so I pulled this place up on Unilocal because it was near by but also the name attracted me.
I walked in & was greeted immediately & I grabbed a menu & there were just things everywhere I had no idea what to get.
A young lady walked up and asked if it was my first time and suggested I make my own burger & explained that they cook the extras into the meat itself. I was blown away so I picked what I thought would make a good combo along with their mixed up spices, that burger was everything!!!
I have to go back before I leave & when I get back.

Different! Very good. The Italian mix up was delicious, and fresh cut fries was a good side. I was pleased with my meal. My coworker had the ring of fire and ultimately did not eat it… For some reason the «ring of fire» name did not tip him off to the fact that his face would combust into a raging ball of flames. I would suggest if you do not like spicy foods do not get this item.

Eh… this place is eh. Went here when we realized the place we originally wanted to go was closed on Sundays. The place itself is pretty cool though. Very laid back atmosphere. Waitresses were very nice too. There was a group watching the football game and they seemed to be having a good time. They also have daily specials for better discounts. They also serve alcohol (well I know they serve at least beer) which could make for a fun get together/​sporting event viewing party. Plenty of flat screen tvs everywhere. Very Sports Bar like… thing is I’m not crazy into sports bars… I like good food. So my score is based more on the food. Got the mix it up appetizer with fried Mac and cheese bites, fried corn bites, mozzarella cheese sticks, and garlic parmesan boneless chicken wings. The boneless wings were actually pretty good and I could probably eat a good amount of them but the rest was very meh. Definitely nothing special or really appealing of them. I’ve had better from the frozen aisle. I was really excited about the burgers, especially seeing the 4 stars out of over 300 reviews. I was enticed by the «mix-​ins» take where ingredients are mixed into the patty it self. I built my own burger, mixed the patty with bacon, shrooms, and smoked Gouda. Tasted nice but it was dry and I hate dry burgers. I need the juices and fats to be melting in my mouth! Not this stuff… The bread fell apart too and was messy. I don’t really mind it when it happens but this burger just wasn’t good… Just a plate of disappointment. The pictures deceived me. I won’t come back. Maybe if you’re not terribly picky on burgers and want a cool place to hang out with your friends watching football, sure, but for foodies, don’t bother.

Got the dirty homewrecker dog and it was one of the best hot dogs I’ve ever had. Fried pickles and funnel cake sticks were great too

My boyfriend and I ate here on Christmas eve and it was absolutely delicious!!! Super friendly staff, burgers were cooked perfectly, and the fries were awesome! Would definitely come back here again and recommend it to anybody in the area!

Ate here a few months back. I wouldn’t return. Burger was just ok, bun not great, atmosphere pretty crappy. It was pretty hilarious to see the crowds of people drinking byo handles of Smirnoff, but not hilarious enough to make me forget I was eating mediocre food.

Get the Jethro! Awesomeness. The half pounder looked way too big but I ate every single bite! Great fries and ice cold beer at a reasonable price. Highly recommended

This was definitely one of my favorites to get a good almost gourmet Burger. The burger was so juicy with all the cheese and blue cheese crumbled with the grilled onions all mixed in was the best. Will be going back rather dinner than later!

I woke up wanting a big fat juicy greasy bacon cheese burger that would have my stomach hurting later. So I began to Unilocal different places after finding many different places some of my plans changed so I had to go close to where I was at. I found mixed up burgers so we decide to try them out. We wanted to try the buck shots as well.
It was a Friday night not to busy when we got there a little drama when we arrived, but everything was ok. The waitress said yall can sit anywhere, so we pushed two tables together in the back since it was a small group of us.
The waitress came to take our drink order we asked for Angry Orchard Beer and the Buck shots. She comes back to tell us that the keg just went out on the beer and they are all out of the buck shots. VERY DISAPPOINTING! We got over it and began to order our burgers the waitress very helpful and knowledgeable of the meal. I ask for my burger to be cooked well done but she explained that they are all cooked medium well and she has never had a problem with seeing pink because she doesn’t even like hers pink. She said they are cook done, so we took her word. The burgers were well seasoned very flavorful, I like that they have there own seasoning and that you can build your own burger and add 3 different topping in there for free and after 3 it cost. The fried pickles were good it had a different type of batter, then other fried pickles I’ve had.
I can say I will be back to try those buck shots and get another burger, but I will say Mixed Up Burgers isn’t high on my list.

My family and I tried out this place back in the summer and the food was decent. We loved the buck shots tho. The service was okay until we waited almost an hour to find out they «lost» our order. Pretty sure they forgot to input it, if not they need a better system of managing the tickets. I saw a few complaints on the waitresses already on Unilocal and I agree it’s not busy but they seem quite stressed. Overall a good experience.

The food was incredible. The service was incredible. The atmosphere is great for families or a date night or going to watch the game. The price is great.

I still love the burgers and the fries and the monthly calendar.
Maybe it’s just my location, but if you are looking to kill an hour or two to get a burger, hunt your waitress down repeatedly to get a bill so you can pay/​leave, when you do get to pay, don’t even think about paying cash because they always have to run to another business nearby to get change-​really! Then go here.
Food is most important in a restaurant but this is one major frustrating place over and over and over.

GREAT burgers! Awesome service! I love that you can get your burger with beef, shredded chicken, or shredded turkey! My favorite is shredded chicken with bacon, mushrooms, and pineapple mixed in.

Their service is not great so be prepared to wait. There was a fraternity party in half the restaurant; therefore, we waiting about 50 minutes for our party of five! We almost left because the kids were so hungry! Management should never book that many people for a party when the rest of the place was that packed. Poor choice there…
Now the food was above average! Great burgers and fries, plus the tater tots were cooked just right and they have a great and diverse menu with apps, burgers and more. I would have given more stars if it wasn’t for the super long wait.

Oh no :(their service is not that great. I watched another patron walk out angrily after telling them he waited 33 minutes for his burger. Mine took nearly 20 minutes. When you walk in, you seat yourself. There is a waitress who takes your order and the cooks place the food on the table in any order, she grabs them and takes them to the customer. I watched as she returned every other order asking for missing items like tots and fries. Everyone seems a bit discombobulated lol. It’s not crowded in here, but the waitress is running around like there are hundreds. I got up to give her my card to pay and she had about 10 other cards in her hand… not sure what’s up with their time management lol
I guess the concept for the burgers is to mix in your desired toppings into the patty while it cooks. I asked for cheese and jalapeños but I’m pretty sure I’m eating jalapeños and bacon lol. I didn’t order the fries bc I saw how drenched in grease they were, and the waitress confirmed that they were very greasy. My burger tasted fine, I did not like buns, but the meat was cooked well and had ok flavor! Come here if you have the time, it’s not a quick bite to it. I’m still waiting to pay and I’ve been in here 45 min. The burger was just standard, not restaurant quality.

If your looking for a great burger in the area this is the spot. Good service, great food semi decent beer collection. They have tvs for sports I could see this as a good pre game spot.

A co-​worker told me about this place, so I went there with him after work one day. I’ll say off the top, the concept is one I think you either like or don’t like. The website does a good job of explaining what they do (take your choice of 3 ingredients and mix them all into the ground beef before grilling it), so I guess what I’d want you to get out of my review is how that affects the consistency of your burger; and that’s what I didn’t like personally.
I really don’t remember the other 2 ingredients I chose that day, but one of them was cheddar cheese. Now, cheddar cheese is fantastic on TOP of a burger. But when it’s mixed into the ground beef and then grilled, what you get back is a hamburger patty that’s kinda «crunchy» from the cheese in the patty that makes contact with the grill surface.
That would be easy enough to avoid by simply choosing cheese as a TOPPING rather than one of the «mix-​in» ingredients. But last I checked (amazingly) cheese wasn’t available as one of the toppings; only as one of the mix-​in choices.
So all-​in-​all I’d say go check it out. It’s a unique experience, and with so many options the sky is the limit as far the number of different ways you can have one. Do be aware though, as you make your choices, that whatever is mixed into the burger will find it’s way to the surface and thus make contact with the grill. And with cheese at least, that ain’t whatcha want.

VERY disappointed. Me and a friend were the only customers in the restaurant and it took nearly 30 mins to receive our burgers along with one side of onion rings.
I have had a lot of burgers (my friends all agree I should be a food blogger) and it was underwhelming to say the least. I usually post pictures of my meal on social media but the meager toppings on my burger looked pathetic to be honest. The onions rings, however were good but a little greasy.
The bottom line is that there are at least a couple other spots you would probably rather go to instead of this place.

Atmosphere — The restaurant has an eclectic vibe. The ceiling has an exposed industrial look and the walls are decorated with sporting items and funny sayings. In addition to the big screen tv’s there are 6 video games to keep you entertained.
Food — The burger was tasty and juicy. I had a build your own ½ pound burger with bacon, pineapple and teriyaki sauce mixed in. Seasoned curly fires… one of my favorite things ever! The staff was very friend and always around. Great prices for the amount of food.
Check for groupons! Tuesday is half price burger day.

Mixed Up Burgers is hidden off of 360 and Ave K with plenty of parking.
It is seat yourself full service and the service is incredibly sweet. I ordered togo here and was in and out before I knew it.
I ordered a ¼ lb tooter and hate to say that I didn’t really enjoy it. It’s topped with a sloppy joe type meat mixture and it just didn’t work well for me. I did however try the chicken buck shots and thought they were absolutely amazing! I would come here just for those sweet little bites of heaven. The total for the burger and the buck shots came out to be $ 12.99. The rest of the menu looks very interesting and I will definitely come back to give their burgers another shot. They have various specials during the month including ½ off all burgers on Tuesdays and drink specials.

Mixed up is still my favorite burger place. They’ve changed the menu added more choices.
The staff is just as friendly as ever. Lisa is the best waitress ever! She remembers all of the customers and takes great care of them. All the wait staff does.
The quality of the burgers in 2 years has only gotten better. It’s also expanded since my last review and it’s great with the additional televisions it’s become on of the best places to watch the Rangers or any other local game.
If you haven’t been there please go there’s also a location at Grand Prairie airport but this is my favorite and it stays open later than the airport location.
