With a black tie event coming up on Saturday, I needed to get the sleeves on my jacket adjusted in length. I wasn’t sure I would be able to get service anywhere on such a short notice(Wednesday) and I hoped I might be able to find a tailor who could turn it around in time. My primary tailor wasn’t able to get to it in time due to being swamped with business. Although Dominic was also swamped, and after I explained my urgency, he thought for a moment and said that he could get to it before 5 pm the same day! I got a call around 2 pm letting me know that my jacket was ready! Service was great, and the quality was just as great. One important note: They take CASH only.

If I could give this place a 0 I would. Horrible service. Do not go there. they do not know how to alter men’s suites at all. they just take your money and say they did their best. HORRIBLE…

It seems like Grand Prairie and Arlington are littered with strip mall tailors and Dry Cleaner tailors, most of which aren’t even listed on Unilocal,Google Maps, or Yellow Pages. While I might trust a Dry Cleaner to hem pants, I certainly wouldn’t trust them with heavy duty pant alterations, suit alterations, jacket alterations, or shirt alterations. I had taken a pair of pants to Dominic’s a year or so ago, and was very pleased with the job he did. In the past few months I’ve needed several items altered(two suit jackets, four pairs of pants, two shirts), and tried several places in Arlington and Grand Prairie to do an accurate, clean, timely job. I’ve been largely disappointed with what I’ve found, from poor button placement on jacket sleeves to shoddy sewing jobs to inaccurate measurements to poor pants hemming(how do you screw that up?). When I needed two shirts taken in on the sides, I thought of Dominic’s. I dropped them off with a pair of pants needing hemming on a Friday evening, and he said he’d have them ready on Monday. When I tried on the shirts he quickly picked up on the fit I wanted and pinned the shirt accordingly. Even though I’m sure that’s the most effective way to measure for the alteration, my sides got pin-pricked a few times in the process, which didn’t make me overjoyed. The shirts ended up exactly how I wanted them, and the hemming is just as it should be. I’ll be going back to Dominic’s this week for a few other needed alterations. Oh — two altered shirts(taken in on the sides, sleeves shrunk) and a pair of pants was $ 28. Very reasonable for Friday-Monday service.
