Great food and very helpful, friendly staff. We went here for both dinner and breakfast during our stay.

Excellent ribs, brisket, and pulled pork, and the bbq sauce options were great as well. Pub style atmosphere with shelled peanuts at every table. Homemade baked beans and mashed potatoes were killer. Their menu is huge, with sandwiches, chili, and seafood options. Margaritas were not bad either. We were served a cup of soup that was a bit salty, so we exchanged it for a salad with no issues. The staff was friendly and helpful in recommending menu items. This was not just BBQ food; it was a BBQ experience. Easily the best place in Grand Lake to get a meal.

In a town with not more than 500 people(atleast at that time), this place came in as an epiphany! This breakfast experience is perhaps one of the top 5 experiences i have had so far. From the quality, to service and turn-around time, everything was great. Its a shame i am writing this review after 2 months of coming back from Grand lake, CO What really got my attention was the really beefed up Menu and we ordered distinctly, everything tasted very good! If you ever go to Grand Lake, CO, do visit this hidden jewel! Thanks

Came in with a party of 16, they sat us quickly. Everything seemed dandy and fine until the waitress forgot our order. 3 of our orders weren’t even put in, and her excuse was«I’m sorry it was lost somewhere, I have to go find it, what did you order?» I understand that we were a party of 16, but still. To incomplete our order and make an excuse for it is pretty unacceptable. I’d expect better for a «4 star restaurant.» After getting our food, we still noticed missing food. Wonderful. Wasn’t even checked up on to see if we needed any refills or if our food tasted fine. I’ll skip it as long as I don’t have to pay for it. Getting our checks, we noticed that gratuity is applied. Gratuity applied for what? Horrible service and food that was forgotten with a server that has a bad attitude? On the bright side, the food was good, not good enough to save it from a 1 star though.

Last night 14 of us descended upon The Sagebrush. We had a reservation, but they were not ready for us, and explained it would be at least 30 minutes. We went to the bar where we were greeted by the friendliest server who immediately took a drink order from us. I think her name was Missy. She checked on us regularly. We sat about 30 minutes later. Our server, Alison, took fantastic care of us. She greeted us with a smile on her face and took the absolute BEST care of us! Everyone loved their dinners! !!

A-okay. 3.5 stars. Not much is open during the winter in Grand Lake so I ended up at Sagebrush 3 times. It’s good food, but nothing great. For dinner, I wandered in with beer on my mind. The waitress looked at me like I was nuts and kept asking if I would eat and I said, «Yes, I will eat… after a beer or two.» I tried the 4 veg plate and wasn’t a fan of anything on the plate. I did start off with the tomato basil soup with wheat bread and that was definitely my favorite thing I ate there. The tomato soup is on! For breakfast 1, I grabbed granola yogurt which came with frozen berries. I would have preferred some other cheaper fruit that wasn’t frozen. Every time the kitchen door opened, I would look up, waiting for my bacon to arrive. My check came before my bacon did, so I had to re-order. A local looked back at me and explained that that has been happening a lot recently. Breakfast number 2 was bacon and a short stack. This was my best experience there. Everything came out within a few minutes and the order was correct. Good.

This was the only restaurant in town that was open for dinner when we visited(as far as I know). I was skeptical, since being the only place open seemed like it would allow them to cook so-so food. Luckily we went, and I loved it! I ordered the sausage platter, which came with Elk sausage, Buffalo sausage, and Pork sausage. It was really tasty. The server was really nice too, and very attentive. I just looked at their menu online, and they even have a «Hiker’s Special» that offers a bagged lunch. This is great, considering the restaurant is about a mile away from the Rocky Mountain National Park entrance.

Try the sausage sampler! The crab legs and chicken parm were perfect. They were fast and nice. Good local food.

This place was packed the night we were in town. Maybe because it was the only place open, not sure, the town was rolling up though. It took at least 30 minutes to be seated, we knew that and we’re expected something awesome. Awesome didn’t happen, one of our orders was wrong and over priced and not impressed..

Probably 3 ½ is fair. It’s good, not great. The BBQ ribs and elk sausage were good. The brisket was weird. More like corned beef. Ick The worst part is the waitress lied to us and told us the BBQ was prepared on site in a small smoker. Nope. No way. We even said, we don’t smell it cooking or see the smoke from outside. And she said it was a «sophisticated smoker». Lol!!! Loved the peanuts at the table, the brocolli, the cornbread was all good. The tomato basil soup was tasty! We had just finished an 8 mile hike to Lulu City.

This place is your typical sports bar– very loud. The service was quite good despite the place being pretty packed. We ordered immediately and got the food very fast. For my entrée, I ordered the blue buffalo burger. First off, my burger lacked both those toppings. However, they did bring me out some blue cheese dressing, but that really did not do the justice. My guest ordered the steak burrito and she thought the steak was way too tough. Just a regular burrito in her opinion. My other guest ordered the blt and thought the amount of bacon was overwhelming. What we all loved about this place was the very comforting and relaxing atmosphere. Everyone looked super happy! However, the food did not impress us enough to come back anytime soon.

Good BBQ, huge menu and good prices! Again — such friendly service. We called about a half hour before we wanted to come in with a party of 11 and they were able to accommodate us in 15 minutes. Everyone seemed to love their dishes. I had a pulled pork sandwich that was tender and covered in a tangy BBQ sauce. The ambiance is fun/casual with peanut shells all over the floor. Feels like something out of the Old West.

YOURHUNGRY -= IT’S MORNING — Your anywhere close to Grand Lake = You go here and you will not be disappointed. From the moment you enter and smell the coffee and bisquits and see the peanuts shells strewn on the floor you know that you have arrived at Breakfast Nirvana ! NOW I can’t speak to the entire menu, but I know what I like and how I like it. As my waitress Chelsea, greeted me I immediately knew what IT was… Bisquits and Gravy. oh and coffee too please… I choose the half order that came with two eggs(perfectly poached) and a side of link sausages. WHEN the food arrived I put down a little Tabasco and dug in. you could tell the bisquits were fresh and made from scratch, the pepper laced gravy was thick but not cloying and the soft poached eggs oozed their yolky goodnes all over. I tossed the side of sausage links in for good measure and did not let up for air til it was gone. DEFINATELY one of the best breakfasts I’ve had in a while. I“ll Be Back — This time for Dinner !

This place is always packed, try and go for a late lunch or early dinner. The prices are about what you expect to find in a tourist town but the portions are large enough that you feel like you got your monies worth. My kiddos had chicken strips which were good but tasted very similar to Schwanns… all in all it was a good experience and I would go back again.

Went on a rainy evening during dinner and the place was packed. We still received great service in the bar area from Stephanie and Lisa behind the bar. They even went as far to change two TVs so we could watch the Stanley Cup game. Their onion rings are killer especially paired with their ranch which they didn’t give a spoon full amount, they gave a good 5−6oz cup for free. Wasn’t able to try all their BBQ however the brisket sandwich was top notch. Great spot to eat and drink with some visitors and the locals. Don’t be shy when you see the peanuts on the floor either, throw em’ down

We live in Denver and try to visit the Rocky Mountain National Park as often as possible during the summer. Every time we take Trail Ridge Road we make sure to stop at Sagebrush for lunch. The food is amazing. We all have different tastes so we can order everything from burgers, BBQ sandwiches and my daughter can get her chicken tenders. The service has always been perfect and we have not yet had a bad experience. In such a beautiful small town of Grand Lake, this place has made it’s mark and I hope to be coming here for many more years!

I’m pretty much just reviewing the bar side as well as the appetizer menu as I’ve never actually sat down in the restaurant side and had an entrée. The staff has always been very friendly and the food has been very good. We’ve had the sausages and nachos and those are both good bets here. Try the nachos with the green chili, very tasty. Love that you can eat peanuts and throw them on the floor here, however, a good sweep up now and then would be good.

What’s not to like about a place where you can throw your peanut shells on the floor! I order the ribs and there were literally enough there for two people with some left over. I had a sweet potato and coleslaw as my sides. All of the food was tasty though nothing really bowled me over. I can’t really figure out what’s going on with the servers in Grand Lake, they all seem to be preoccupied with something. We had to swipe a few items from another table because they were missing from ours and we couldn’t catch the attention of our server to get them for us. On the up side, they have a very cool notification system that sends a text to your cell phone when your table is ready. Much better than carrying around a vibrating hockey puck to let you know your table is ready. I liked the feel of this place, even if the food itself is only average and would go back just to have a beer and toss a few shells on the floor.
