Awesome stuff! Used to frequent a hawaiin BBQ in the last city I lived in. This place is even better! I highly recommend it. Good BBQ, better spam.

Driving from Denver to Vegas with our family of six, we found Tropix Hawaiian BBQ on Unilocal and decided to give it a try. We got one order of Hawaiian beef BBQ, Chicken Katsu bowl, Rice noodle bowl, Tropical BBQ beef with French bread, Teriyaki chicken bowl, and BBQ chicken burger. Each order came with soup, three came with drinks. We paid $ 52 for the 6 meals, 6 soups and 5 drinks. The restaurant — we came at weekday lunch time & it wasn’t terribly busy. The service was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was clean and comfortable. Meals did come out one at a time, which wouldn’t have been an issue for our family except that the last one served was my son who just got braces & takes forever to eat anything. Dishes — with the exception of the rice noodle bowl, everyone rated their dish 4 – 5 stars with most of them 4.5 or higher. The rice noodle bowl was eaten by my oldest who gave it 3 stars — but he is 13, so 3 stars probably translates to 30 in real life. Even then he rated the Vietnamese egg roll 10 out of 5. I tasted everything but the two sandwiches and I gotta be honest, when we make it back to Tropix, I’ll order the rice noodle bowl — it was incredible! The things I liked the best — all the meats were cooked perfectly — the chicken and beef had that melt-in-your-mouth quality when they are moist & tender and all you want is more. The sauces were not over powering but full of flavor. We’ll be back on our way home!

My family and I litetally just left the Tropix Hawaiian BBQ parking lot less than 5 minutes ago. After being on the road for 8+ hours, I was Unilocaling(is that a word?) around for a place to eat a filling dinner, that did not consist of burgers and fries, once we entered Colorado(we drove from Las Vegas). My husband and I both ordered the Hawaiian BBQ short ribs while our three toddlers shared BBQ Chicken. We quickly devoured our meals and also ordered a second helping of musubi(it comes with two pieces per order). Their Thai tea is also one of the best my husband and I ever had(not to be tea snobs but we’re a frequent drinkers of Thai tea, hot, iced, or slushed. We’ve had it all and more). I wish Tropix wasn’t 4 hours away from our home. We would definitely be frequent visitors if it were nearby us. Haha. Also, the sweet woman who takes your order is amazing. She does everything! She takes orders, cleans tables, serves the food, and oh man. She’s Wonder Woman! An absolute darling who goes above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your meals. Thanks again for a wonderful experience! And great food!

Stopped here for a little bit of lunch and Damnnnnn it was delicious!!! My husband and I ordered the Phở, teriyaki chicken bowl, egg drop and hot and sour soup, along with 2 Sodas. Everything was so yummy. I don’t know where to start. All the soups were hot, flavorful and fresh. The chicken bowl… omg delicious. Total bill $ 19SCORE!!! It was a win everyway we look at it. Authentic, flavorful, hot, fresh, clean location, great customer service, just all around a great pick for any meal. Now, stop reading, and get to driving over there. Pronto!

Not hawiaan or bbq. I got the grilled fish(menu said mahi mahi but wall said«white fish»), and it was sad and boring and bland. My hubby said it looked like hospital food. The macaroni salad was also bland. The only good thing I found there was the katsu sauce, which was like a spicy ketchup. Never going there again & will not recommend to anyone. Ick!

«Hawaiian BBQ» says the sign outside this small, off-the-highway establishment. This is a rare spectacle in Grand Junction; in fact it may be the only. So, it deserved a try when friends were in town. I’m glad we went! It’s cozy inside, seats maybe 30 tops, but it’s clean and has a large colorful menu. I ended up ordering the Hawaiian BBQ Mix in order to get a variety of tasty meats. It was delicious! Nothing was over cooked, flavors were unique, and the portion was suitable for a 6’4″ hungry man. The hot and sour soup was much appreciated on a cold day, and the Thai tea was excellent. Don’t plan on quick service during lunch time, and if you’re group is bigger than 4 you will need to play some table-Tetris in order to sit together.

My husband has been telling me about this place for months. I am finally in Grand Junction and I chose this to be my first lunch here in town. I had the chicken curry. It was delicious and massive. So much tender flavorful grilled chicken which was then covered in a belly spicy curry. The curry was reminiscent to mgr of a Japanese style, with some carrots, onions, and potato chunks running through the sauce. This fish was really lovely and I’ll have it again. My husband has the bbq beef sandwich. With the pickled carrots and fashion, cilantro and cucumber garnish it was like the Hawaiian answer to a bahn mi. Also a winner! Looking forward to trying everything on the menu.

I don’t know if this is as good as it gets or not. But I do know that Hawaiian BBQ restaurants are few and far between(I live in the Washington DC metro area and I don’t have any close to me). This is a very good one. We focused on the lunch plate specials — two scoops of rice, one scope of macaroni salad, and the meat of choice. First, the rice. Excellent. Second, the macaroni salad, very tasty. A little on the plain side, but it was all gone very quickly. Now for the meats of choice. One meat was the chicken bbq. Well grilled, moist, well marinated, generous. And the dipping sauce only made it better. The other meat was the chicken katsu, flattened chicken breast breaded and pan fried. Excellent, crispy, moist, generous. Again, the dipping sauce, different than for the bbq, only made it better. Servings were so generous we had leftovers to take home. Soups were included. They were OK. We chose to stuff ourselves with the main course. You order at the counter, staring at a big menu enhanced by pictures. It was hard to focus in on something specific because everything looked great. There are so many other things of interest that I can hardly wait to return. The one side dish we ordered was musubi — grilled spam presented sushi style. Again, generous, delicious. If you have a chance to go here, I strongly recommend you do. This is a rare and special eatery. Grand Junction is lucky to have such a place.

Ate here rolling through Grand Junction on a roadtrip heading home to Los Angeles. There are Hawaiian BBQ’s all over in L.A. and this one was spot on with the best of them. Ribs were good, Catsu chicken was right, sauce was right, place was clean. A+

Food is usually pretty good and the service is always friendly. The inside of the restaurant is always clean, although I usually don’t see many people eating inside there, and the kitchen looks really clean from a distance!
