Inconsiderate bartender didn’t speak two words to me. Head banging music and basket ball game on even after I mentioned it was very loud. Presentation marginal to poor. Finger molded wasabi with prints. I was alone place was very unwelcoming. I’d say. Fast food sushi made with day old rice… city markets is better and less expensive . Former restaurant owner and mega sushi eater. Won’t go back.

Me and my boyfriend LOVE going to Suehiros! By far one of our favorite restaurants in town!

Suehiro is the original sushi spot in Grand Junction. Mom owns Suehiro and son runs No Coast. I’m a fan of sticking with what I know, which is why I always will pick Suehiro over anything else in GJ. You cannot go wrong with the tempura appetizer or dynamite shrimp to start. As for sushi, the dragon roll and mango tango are on point. If you’re looking for an entrée, the Yakisoba is an enormous portion that can be shared at the table, the Udon Don is a wonderful warm broth topped with pork cutlets. The combination bentos are a nice mix of protein, tempura and sushi. A definite must try if you’re looking for a night out with a loved one, friend or your family.

I love sushi and this is not even close to what I’ve had before. The titaki nigiri was pretty good, though the«special» rolls were nothing close to special. Definitely bummed, since I will be moving here and was looking for some great sushi that I’ve known to love while living in Denver. Atmosphere and service was good.

The very best sushi selection on I-70, period. Very impressive ownership, service drinks, apps and sushi… Get the Spicy Crab Nori Chips. A true 5*

I love this place for sushi! My favorite roll is the Red Ninja. I always seem to order this as my first choice. Staff is always nice. Atmosphere is fun and unique. Only complaint was difficulty ordering at lunchtime on a weekend for takeout.

Tried few of their special rolls and enjoyed everything. My fav at suehiro is katsu curry and two faced special roll. Great food & service!

First, the Hostess was so efficient and kind with all the crowds that came. She let us know how long the wait and how it was progressing! She was a hit. The waiter didn’t come with the bill and she took care of getting it and processing. Not enough wait staff for the amount of people! As seniors we did not sit at the Traditional setting. We got a table! Let the younger set get up and down! The food was excellent!

Excellent meal and the prices were fair. I had the ginger scallops and salmon sushi. I highly recommend this restaurant. The service was excellent and the food came out fast. Very good place.

The two stars is regarding the food, not the service which was very good and the ambience which is very pleasing. The Gyozas were adequate but the sauce was very salty. My wife loves sukiyaki which should include thin sliced beef that is tender. Her dish had chunks of beef which were very tough. I ordered the curried pork. The sauce was tasteless and the pork was literally swimming in sauce. I can’t speak to the sushi because we did not order any. But I don’t think we will be returning to this restaurant.

My wife and I came to this place to enjoy sushi. Instead, we waited for 20 minutes before a hostess bothered to talk to us(they weren’t busy). The whole staff was enthralled with some flat brim tatted thug who appeared to be hooking them up. The entire room was kinda staring in shock at the whole event. Needless to say, we left. There are a lot of other dining options downtown. If you aren’t looking for a knife fight, I would avoid this place.

Very happy with my meal. We ate at the sushi bar and had very good service. I was, however, very surprised at how busy they were from the moment of opening at lunch! We ordered a la carte sushi. A little surprised that we needed to order from the waiter instead of directly with the chef — or using a paper sushi list. But it worked well. I love tamago(the egg omelet). Many times this is a pre-purchased bland item. Here it is home made and it was very fresh and so delicious and delicate. Thanks for that. The nigiri sushi is not cut to order at lunch, but it was clearly recently and generously cut. The rolls(salmon skin and salmon poke) were done nicely, but to me the nigiri was much nicer. We saw another customer eating hamachi kama and were very jealous. Now we know to ask. Nice thing is that everything here is very fresh. I never order uni unless I am in a location where people order it frequently. Fresh, it is one of the treats of the world. Day old — it is nasty. This was fresh. I was very happy to have a fun, interactive and tasty place to have sushi in Grand Junction. They don’t have as large a selection as I am used to — but I like that I can depend on what they have being fresh! They do serve a lot of what are to me «crazy rolls» — I guess I should just call them creative. But — hey — that is what a lot of people seem to enjoy. So — good for them. Me, I will stick to the classics. But — I like that they offer stuff I like and stuff that get people excited about sushi!

My family and I ate dinner here on a Saturday for my birthday. The amount of people waiting for the doors to open was very encouraging. I suggest that you arrive early or call ahead. The food was quite lovely. My boyfriend loved the scallop rolls out of all of their sushi options. It’s definitely a hot spot to eat at here in Grand Junction.

I’m giving this place a 4 because the sushi wasn’t well assembled(meaning it fell apart quite easily), and the sushi was much more«mushy» than what I’m used to having. If that makes sense? Overall, the food was good and the waitress was very friendly. The sushi came out in a timely manner. We may try this place again sometime but more than likely will venture to other sushi restaurants, first.

Good sushi & liked the variety of rolls — service was slow & miso soup was served cold — I felt the atmosphere was okay but definitely have been to much better run sushi restaurants, but for a smaller town it’s a solid 4 star. Enjoyed the Poison Ivy roll the best!

The sushi seems different from when I first started eating here. Now it seems the food and service is a hit or miss. Still a decent sushi place.

Certainly the best sushi place in Grand Junction. Still not the greatest sushi place all around, but the fish is fairly fresh. Service is rather slow. The roll options are pretty good. If I’m in Grand Junction and feel like sushi, it is worth heading down to Seuhiro

We were surprised to find such a good sushi/Japanese restaurant in GJ. Our favorite item was the Tokyo peach roll, which used in season Palisade peaches with fresh fish and some nice spice. Wonderful! Also liked the prices, which are in the bargain range. While the sashimi maguro and shake were fresh, they were served with no sauce except the soy. Found that disappointing. Liked the fried tofu, but found the fried calamari appetizer chewy and probably previously frozen. Reasonable wine and beer list, decently priced. Given the location, the décor with the new front, and the overall experience = 4 stars. Probably 3 stars in the big city.

C.y. best server ever!!! Request him! When it is busy, service isn’t all that. But the food is great. I always get the sashimi platter plus a couple of other things and everything is fantaatic. The yaki udon is really good.

The fish here is very fresh. We used to be regular customers, at least twice weekly, but now whenever we come in there are always signs of decline. We waited 10 minutes at the front before we were even acknowledged. Several tables were open but hadn’t been bussed. A few people walked out because the wait was so long. The spice powder is now added to the Bizarro AND Superman when it only used to be added to the Superman. It is not noted on the menu for the Bizarro. It is an okay option for sushi if you don’t mind slow service and a long wait for the sushi. Prices are average. There is a parking lot in the back.
