I travel a lot for work and rely heavily on Unilocal reviews. I was hesitant to visit this restaurant based on the reviews, but decided against my better judgment. It’s definitely not the best Chinese food I’ve ever had in my life, but it definitely hits the spot and is very decent. I had sesame chicken and pork fried rice and the pork fried rice was amazing, and the sesame chicken was so so. Definitely better than a 2 ½ star restaurant

When me and my mom first walked into Sang Garden, we were very welcomed by a nice lady behind the counter. Who greeted us and asked if we were the takeout order that they had just received. We said yes and while my mom was digging through her purse to find her card, she asked us how our day was, and also if the Denver Broncos were winning the game. Then as I helped my mom carry our back. She said I was a very helpful and good kid. Then as we were leaving she told us happy new year! When we ate our food we were all very, very satisfied with our meal. I ordered beef and broccoli, my mom ordered kung pow chicken, and my dad ordered pork fried rice! So all in all, the service was great, the food was good. What else could you ask for?

So disappointed to write this. First negative review I have ever done. Have been to this place numerous times for lunch and it was acceptable. The last two dinner pick ups paying full price were a total disappointment. The sesame chicken twice had only a few pieces of chicken; the rest was breading. You had to dig for one piece of chicken. The soup tonight tasted like last weeks dish water. What a shame you are in such a good location with such shameful food. Want to add that going to Taco(B)Hell would be better.

This is a great small town Chinese restaurant that also serves Thai. First time back in town after 5 years and this was my first stop. It did not disappoint either. Reasonable prices, large portions, and good food.

It seems to be under new management — and not for the better. We ordered over the Internet, thru their Beyond Menu service, as we had done many times before. When my husband got there, they had never looked at the computer. There were 2 tables sitting, waiting for their food, when he walked in. They were still there, in the same state, when he left, after having waited for our order to be prepared from scratch. The teriyaki beef on a stick was still good, but the barbecued ribs weren’t. The sauce has changed, and they are tough, instead of tender. The orange beef was way over-breaded, and greasy. We used to order every week; we won’t be ordering again.

First time here and only average food at best. I ordered the lunch special Sesame Chicken the chicken was a bit tough to chew and the oil they fried it in was very old tasting. The egg roll was severely lacking in taste and with the old frying oil it was almost inedible. On the positive the single server in this establishment was very accommodating and pleasant. But I will not be back.

…and it just makes things look even more pathetic for the business when their regulars(who might or might not go by the name of Mark B.) are bashing people for telling the truth about what goes on. For your review of: Sang Garden «What an idiot he went on and on about it this person can never be satisfied and should be swept off the earth !! Wow»

They add bell peppers to their kang keow wan which I am not familiar with in this dish, and which don’t belong, in my opinion. I asked for spicy, and it was, however it was also quite bland. The sauce was thin and watery, without a hint of coconut milk flavor. All in all I was disappointed, as was my mom, who ordered shrimp pad thai, but complained it was very dry. I have eaten their curry shrimp(not on menu, ask for it) and enjoyed it in the past. But I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant for dependably good food. It’s hit or miss, every time.

We ordered four items to go and they were all good! Plenty of food for a reasonable price!

This place sucks. Only one server, he tried, but this was not his calling. Order was wrong and service was slow. Food was ok. I will not come back to sit and eat and could not recommend it.

THEABSOLUTEWORSTFOOD! I’m from Los Angeles just stopping by in this town, I decided I wanted some Chinese/Thai food and the only place open at 9 pm was this restaurant. I read the reviews on Unilocal, and although they weren’t the best I just gave it shot anyway. Worst decision. My friend and I walked it, we weren’t greeted at all, we picked up our own menu and the waiter pointed to where he wanted us to sit. He came eons after to take our order, the restaurant by the way is empty besides the one or two people, he was rude taking our order at one point saying that«if the chef wants to make it he will, if he doesn’t he won’t» He brought us a bowl of soup and plates and he threw it on the table and left. We had no utensils or bowls. When he came out again, we asked him for two bowls and utensils and he said, «FIINEE» and rolled his eyes. He brought ONE bowl and threw the utensils. So after I was finished with what they call«tum yum soup» I gave my friend my bowl because this guy was so obviously getting annoyed at taking any sort of attempt to do his job. Then finally the food came out, and it’s just so gross. I have no words. I couldn’t eat so I stopped and wrote this review. My friend literally spat out a piece of chicken because it was undercooked. We have been done with our food and just sitting here, but have not been approached about the food or our bill so I wrote this review. Do yourself a favor and just go on.

Came here for lunch recommended by the concierge at Double Tree when I asked for a good Chinese food place. Had the lunch special with shredded pork with garlic sauce and it was VERY flavorful. Expected it to be a bit spicier, but it was quite good nonetheless. Their menu on the internet says the price was $ 7.25, but they actually charged $ 9.70 before I added the tip. I drank only water so that could not have cause the price increase. Good food; a little expensive compared to other Chinese restaurants in the area.

Food is pretty good, not as good as Thai Chili though. The hostess is friendly and always remembers my friend and I every visit, even what we usually order… although we don’t go in that often(kinda nice/kinda odd)

Much better choices in the valley. It’s sad, when they first opened it was good, but now the quality is just below average.

Just passing through town. Ordered pick up from our hotel, is was ready to go when we got there. All the food was hot and the hot and sour soup was amazing! The portions are very big– so order with that in mind. I would order from here again!

I don’t know what all those negative reviews all about. We went there during lunch and ordered some lunch specials. The food was good, and the waitress was extremely friendly. This is the Chinese restaurant that i would recommend to my friends if they stopped at the Grand junction.

This place is disgusting! Undercooked, artificial chicken by-product in over spiced no-flavor liquid. Ordered Pa Nang chicken. Completely in edible. Am now going out for a second dinner.

Not bad. Lunch is $ 7.25 a plate, and that includes soup, fried rice, a side salad, and an egg roll(in addition to your entrée). Not sure how the review from the Texan got through the filter, he’s off on the price and sounds like he was just mad he didn’t get a free meal. Try the kung pao chicken or the mongolian beef. You can’t go wrong with chow mein either. Don’t expect super authentic chinese food — the Monk’s Vegetables, for example, was a very American vegetable medley of celery, carrots, broccoli, cabbage and onion — not at all close to what the actual Chinese dish would contain. It tasted decent, but it wasn’t what I had expected. Caution: the lemon chicken isn’t what you think. It’s more of a fried chicken cutlet with lemony syrup drizzled on it. Stick to the popular dishes, and you’ll do great. Ask the waitress for a recommendation — she probably knows better than you what you might like.
