THEBESTSPANAKOPITA. EVER! The ambience reminds me of being in Grandmas kitchen; the perfect setting for having a pleasant visit w/a dear friend over the best baked goods you’ve had in a long time. I can’t wait to go back.

The more often I go here, the more I love it. Her levain rye bread(made on Wednesdays, I think) is my favorite bread anyplace. It has just the right texture and taste. It slices well for toast and is also great eaten untoasted. Her whole grain bread(the Tuesday special) is also excellent, but I am a sucker for good rye bread. She makes some really wonderful pastries and I have tried most of them. Not a bad one in the group. I especially enjoy the strudels — she gets the pastry right, nice and crispy and the fruit fillings are clearly homemade from good quality fruit. I like that she asks you if you want an end piece(a little more pastry than fruit and a little more crunchy) or a middle piece(more fruit and less crunch). If I am buying for me — end piece, please. If I am buying for my elderly mother in law — center piece, please. She often has a nice little cookie — sort of a crispy sponge cookie. It is drizzled with chocolate and is just exquisite. You always have room for one more! PS — need a quick snack — you can never go wrong with her quiche slices. Always two varieties from which to choose. AND she does make sandwich rolls!

This town needed a good bakery and this is it! Best bread in town and I haven’t found a pastry that I didn’t love. Perfect for coffee and breakfast. You won’t be disappointed!

One thing this city really needed was a great European bakery. Now we have it. A little hard to find, but make the effort. Go West on Main from 1st St. and look to your right. Just a hole in the wall with a killer Rumanian mother, son and sometimes dad. I have been giving out boxes to my lawyer and acct staff. They love all of it. I can’t even think of what I love the most. There is one mostly chocolate pyramid which will make you happy the rest of the day the home made rugalah is great… and I don’t even like rugalah. Make sure you ask if they have any Russian Napoleons. It drives her nuts!!!

Wonderful! Tasty! The blueberry turnover crust was to die for and the apple strudel is the best I’ve ever had. On our way out, we couldn’t resist getting a sticky bun and European style bread. All fantastic. Best place in town.

We were visiting from California and came by this bakery. The cinnamon rolls, cookies, rulada, amandina, tiramisu and bread were very good! Also, the owner and workers there were incredibly friendly. I highly recommend Mihaela’s Bakery.

In town visiting my daughter, son-in-law, and grandson. We happened upon Mihaela’s Bakery because it is next-door to the hair salon where my one year-old grandson just had his first haircut. This bakery is amazing! The food is nothing but delicious, and the coffee is by far the best in Grand Junction. Mihaela is a total sweetheart, and every time I will be back visiting my family here, I am going to stop at this wonderful bakery.

What a gem for downtown Grand Junction! Especially if you’re needing a quick breakfast or coffee while waiting for hearings at the courthouse. Mihaela’s is a traditional European bakery with fresh pastries, breads, and bagels baked daily. They’re family-owned, and everything I’ve had is delicious. They usually have challa bread, rye bread, and a few other fresh-baked breads ready for pick-up each day. Everything is made in-store and is priced appropriately. The coffee is delicious: 12 or 16 ounces. I’ve heard great reviews of the baklava. And I have had their cherry and blueberry cheese Danishes, which were incredibly light and flavorful. I can’t wait to try the Apple Frangipani Pie. I’ve also had the Paleuri which are soft cookies filled with chocolate cream and rum flavoring — yum! There are about 4 – 5 tables inside and a patio table out front for summertime. Check out their Facebook page for more pictures of their delicious baked goods!
