Stopped here on our way to Denver. Gorditas are awesome! I ordered them with azada. Delicious. I wish I had bought 3!

Can’t go wrong with anything you order here. From breakfast burritos, to tacos, to gorditas, it is all good. Rubi is one of the best, if not the best, Mexican food place in town. And the real coke in a glass bottle is a nice touch.

Their asada is so good! In the tacos or breakfast burrito. the salsa that comes with is pretty spicy but has a unique flavor that is addicting. This is a great food truck with very good tasting basic Mexican food. Having moved from Los Angeles, my expectations were high for Mexican food and I love this place.

I’ve been wanting to try this permanent food truck for a long time and now I’m sorry I waited so long! I will definitely come back. They are very nice and the meat is delicious, the tortillas very fresh and the salsa is green and perfect. I had three shredded beef tacos and will come have a breakfast burrito next time and the torts looked fantastic too!

This is a really nice(stationary) food truck. People are really nice here, they let you take your time perusing the menu printed on the truck(it isn’t a huge menu, but by the time you pick your meat and your«vehicle» — tortilla, gordita, etc. — there are a lot of choices to be made). The people inside are equally comfortable with English or Spanish — so feel free to ask questions. And, while everything is put together to order, service is pretty quick! My hands down favorite is the gordita — with any filling. It is like a puffed corn tortilla that is then fried till crunchy, but not brittle. Nice amount of meat filling(no vegetarian fillings that I see) and shredded lettuce. Honestly, I could eat a slew of them(I am embarrassed to quantitate how many I could eat!). As someone else said — these are killer! The burritos are good — I love the tortilla(which isn’t to be taken for granted). These are the type with some rice and beans inside, along with the meat. Normally, I am not a fan of rice in burritos(I hate the vaunted San Francisco«Mission style» burritos for that reason). But here, the rice is used with restraint and it is very flavorful. And, I never say no to beans! So — I am a fan of the burritos as well. Just not up to the wonders of the gordita. Tacos are very good, and again, the tortillas are good. I hate eating a taco where it falls apart to the touch — and these do not. Nice amount of cilantro. And — all the fillings are great. My only disappointment is the torta. Not that it is bad, but I don’t care for the bread used in GJ tortas. I am used to more bollilo type and what we got here was more of a flat hamburger type bun(but with better texture). Still, it was more than acceptable and was really very filling for the price. Price? All of the prices are really low. You can eat yourself into a coma for $ 20 and you can be stuffed for $ 10. On our most recent visit, my husband and I had 2 gorditas, a burrito, and a torta for $ 16 and took food home. You can take out or eat on the pretty, blue picnic tables. And — saving the best till last — they serve an excellent green salsa to go with the food. It is not over-vinegared or sour like many green salsas. Has a nice punch, but not too hot. It really kicks everything up a notch. Yum-o.

Holy yummy! First time eating here– finally– after hearing the buzz that this place was the place to get some good curbside Mexican grub. Well, the rumors did not diss appoint! Chicken tacos with homemade tortillas and cilantro hit the spot and my hubby devoured his gordita in 2 seconds flat. Plus they were all so friendly and helped me practice my(horrible) Spanish! How awesome is that?! We will definitely be back! Muchas gracias!

As good as it get. Since I live in LA and traveled for airlines to all majors cities, so with that said, I have access to unlimited foods and tastes. I can contest to it that it is equally the same flavored you would get in LA. Mexican foods should not be complicated, with full flavors, and easy eating. Well… unless you are talking about mole(molay), which are sauces. I had the chicken taco, nothing special. Then of course to test them out, I had the lengua(tongue). I know SOME people might get a little iffy about this item, but true eaters will eat most unusual foods. Every pro chef will tell you this, if you haven’t already know. Anyways, I say, please keep places like this open, so that our world are not taken by corporation and huge restaurants that we can’t figure what they are putting on the menu. Say, a 20 page menu? My point exact. I’m looking forward to a Phở restaurant here in GJT(Grand Junction), airport code for our industry. And a Korean BBQ. Enjoy it!

Best mexican food in grand junction, hands down. Owners are so friendly and food is off the chain. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu! Make sure you try their salsa!

I like this place! This is just a little food truck, but it pounds out some great flavors. The sign says«simple Mexican food». They should have included the word delicious. I had a couple of tacos(asada and carnitas) they were so good I had a couple of chicharron gorditas. POW! They have a couple of bench tables with umbrellas so there is a nice place to sit and enjoy your meal. The people in the truck are really helpful and friendly too. I gotta feeling I’m going to be a regular. Enjoy Cheue‘

Best food truck in GJ! Everything we have tried has been delicious! The gorditas should not be missed, and their breakfast burritos are outstanding.

So much more than you’d expect! I passed it for over a year without trying it until my Mexican friend took me there for lunch. Her opinion is that it is the most authentic Mexican in GJ. my opinion is that it is the BEST! I have not gotten anything there I did not love.

Good, simple food the way it should be prepared. I had steak tacos served with salsa verde. Delicious and completely satisfying. I can’t believe all the cars going through the drive-through of the chain joint next door when this place is so close… oh well, more for me!

This is a gem and should not be missed. They are parked near Sprouts and this is the only active food truck(although they are not moving around) in the area. Everything is good and authentic. The carne asada gorditas are to die for and @ $ 2.50 they are a deal! Freshly made tortillas and salsa. They are popular and deservedly so. If you come @ lunch you might have a short wait but place your order. hang out & enjoy. The breakfast burritos are amazing too… huge… If you have been on the fence because it is a food truck… just go! They put out a great product and they are very nice people as well =)

Located on the west side of town you find an excellent food cart, Loncheria Rubi Simple Mexican Food. Located in the lot of a small gas station it’s easy to miss, however make a point to find it and you’ll be rewarded with delicious simple Mexican food. A small simple menu of beef, chicken, pork, tongue & tripe can be prepared either as breakfast, tacos, burritos or sandwiches. Prices are varying depending on what you want, but tacos are $ 2 each. Service is friendly and food is prepared as you order it, nothing premade. Incredibly there happens to be a Del Taco not 100 feet away, during lunch the disgustingly bad Del Taco has a line wrapped around the building with a full parking lot. Loncheria Rubi will only a few customers, why would anyone choose to eat mass produced swill when there is real Mexican so close in beyond me. My advice, use Del Tacos parking lot and walk 100 feet for real food. Try Loncheria Rubi and I’ll bet it will become one of your go to spots for a quick meal on the cheap. Located in the lot of Dible’s Fuel Barn, next to Sprouts Grocery Store.
