Good place for specialty chocolates — especially if you need nut free(We did not). They apparently do a lot of mail order but also have a shop at the ‘factory’. We were in the area and decided to stop by. TIP: DONOT trust your GPS to find this location. The address will take you to a side street(Island Circle) but the store is really on the east side of Route 2 just North of this side street. It is visible from Rt. 2. Apparently this is a common problem based on our discussion with the women we talked to at the shop.

We have been buying the chocolates here for years, but this year was special and noteworthy of a «5» rating. First, for folk with peanut allergy this was a a great option to ensure our son had holiday candies and treats throughout the year. In fact, now that he is grown and living on the west coast, we take great pleasure in sending the caramel chocolates as a surprise treat. So that brings us to the second point, we get the chocolates not only because they are safe but they are really really good! His cousins all look forward to sharing the«skippers» during the holidays! Last but not least; great customer service. This i year we ordered early to avoid the last minute rush. We realized the weekend before Xmas that we had not received our shipment(we checked online and saw the order confirmation and the delivery date well past due. So we called, told them we checked the post office, around the office, spots in the garage in the hopes we missed the delivery package — nada. So the good folk at VMF sent a replacement package no charge via overnight! No issues or problems. Wait! There is more! We found the first package(thats a story for another day). When I told the VNF folks I got both and charge me, as that was the right thing to do — they did not charge for the shipping of the second. Cool. I will continue to be a loyal customer!

This place is amazing! They have a great selection of chocolates and candy for all the holidays and in between. You can also pretty much customize the boxed chocolates. I am a regular, and the nut free policy is a huge bonus. I order online. Get some truffles!

Vermont Nut Free Chocolates are wonderful! In addition to tasting great, you can get all sorts of nice seasonal treats for holidays — winter snowflakes & snowmen, shamrocks, heart shaped lollypops, etc. As the parent of a child with nut allergies, we love these products. As a person who loves good chocolates, I love them too!

My girlfriend loves truffles but she is severely allergic to tree nuts. Pretty much every truffle place I went to(like See’s, Teuscher, and K Chocolatier) was unable to guarantee that their chocolates were safe. So, until now, her usual method was to take a little bite, wait a little while to see if anything happened, then eat the rest. Not the ideal solution, certainly. Traveling together for Christmas and not wanting to risk ending the night with an epi pen sticking in her leg, I took a chance and had a small box of truffles delivered to our hotel.(I ordered by phone so I could choose the assortment myself.) She LOVED them! It was only 6 pieces and, since I can eat whatever I want, I didn’t want to deprive her of any of them by trying one myself. But I bought her a bigger box for Valentine’s Day, and maybe this time I’ll get a taste. All that really matters to me is that she loved them, and that we both have peace of mind knowing they’re safe. The only thing that keeps it from a full five stars is the price: With shipping, it’s about $ 30 for a dozen, on par with the finest designer chocolatiers in Beverly Hills. I know the rent in Grand Isle, Vermont isn’t on par with Rodeo Drive. And surely it can’t be THAT hard to simply not bring nuts into your factory. You just don’t order any, and none come. Nuts are expensive. Not having to buy any should mean the chocolate is cheaper! But we’re buying a niche product and, because they’re the only ones providing it, they can charge whatever the market will bear. I’m certainly willing to pay it! Five stars for the chocolates and for the quick and friendly service! I am a fan.

My son has really bad, call 911 and give him epinephrine stat, peanut and tree nut allergies. Vermont Nut Free gives him and his mom peace of mind. Pricy? Yes. Worth it? Most definitely.

I’ve never actually been to the store, but have been ordering from Vermont Nut Free for years. As someone with nut allergies, let me tell you, it is so nice to be able to sink my teeth into a piece of chocolate that doesn’t say«may contain peanuts» on the wrapper! It’s a little pricey, but well worth it. The chocolate is so good that I would still want to eat it even if I did not have allergies. The only things I haven’t cared for in the years I’ve been ordering from them are the granola bars and fudge. Everything else has been excellent! I DEFINITELY recommend ordering from them if you have severe peanut and/or tree nut allergies!
