Good comfort food and drinks. Service was slow but nice servers. I had the stuffed or smothered chicken. Very tasty. Dinner salads were of good size and quality.

Stopped in based on Unilocal reviews. As promised, the green chili rocked, award winning and they even display them in a trophy case as u walk in. Wife had bronco burger and she was very good, generous size as well! I felt like someyhjng a lil light and difft so had the chicken salad, was very good! Kids meals consisted of chix strips and a burger, those wee pretty avg, but for an 8 and 11 yr old, pretty typical! Price was definitely right and the service was exceptional!!! Go here!!!

We ate here while on vacation, and were starving after a day of trying to stay alive on the slopes after my first ever ski lesson. Anyway: One of the best hamburgers I’ve ever had; the meat was prepared precisely as requested. The service was excellent, and we appreciated the unique green chili as well. Even the intoxicated locals hanging at the bar managed to add to the overall charm of this place. Highly recommend!

Maverick’s used to be ok — nothing to exciting — but they’ve upped their game over the past few years and the food is much better than it was before. I always get their green chili with a half sandwich on the side. Their green chili is award winning — and I love a good bowl of green chili! We like to sit in the bar area during game time — kids are welcome too.

Low key and laid back. I had the green chili and Reuben sandwich. Chili was tasty but way too spicy for my taste and I’m from Texas! Reuben was good but not great.

They had outdoor seating, but it was not open for some reason. They serve exotic meats here. I got the Bison Meatloaf and it was actually very good except the edges were too hard and dried it and hen they smothered it with far too much gravy. Once I scraped the gravy off and discarded he outside port in the meatloaf tastes fantastic. The meat really does not need gravy at all, get it in the side and you will thank me.

We were traveling through Colorado and hit Granby at lunchtime. The Maverick looked like our best bet, even though some reviews were not very good. We were very pleasantly surprised! We had the Forager Salad and a Patty Melt with fries. Both were excellent. The staff was pleasant and very attentive! Definitely worth a try!

Went with a group of 4 people and we had mixed reviews. The chile cheese fries were a definite hit and were talked of fondly the rest of the day. The Santa Fe burger was very good! The chicken on the salad lacked seasoning and tasted a little like fish. One of the people in our group thought the place had a little bit of a funny smell. Overall, a decent place to go and have a beer. They have a great selection of veggie burger options(yay!).

Awesome burgers, good beer and great service! Stopped here on our way back to Denver from Rocky Mountain National Park. The first restaurant we stopped at was only service happy hour snacks and we were starving. This place is not much on the outside but the food is super yummy! Will be back!

Granby is a pretty small town and didn’t have too many options. The dining side of the restaurant was quiet and old-fashioned, but clean. Great prices, GOOD food! Ordered the steak and the mixed game meatloaf… amazing. Would definitely return if we stayed in the area again. Traditional«country» type food and you don’t leave hungry. Wait staff was prompt and polite.

In response to the«car test» one reviewer mentioned, yes there are lots of cars in the parking lot of Mavericks — because everywhere else in the tiny town of Granby closes very early at night. The staff here are great — very nice waitresses and hard-working. I don’t fault them at all, but the fact is that the food is pretty low quality in most areas. They can cook burgers and make a pot of chili, and that’s about it. If you’re feeding kids and want to grab a burger cheap, just keep your expectations low. We had two families with us, on a busy night at this restaurant. It was«busy» because everywhere else in town was closed after 7PM(except for the Brick House place down the street, but we didn’t want to pay $ 20 per entrée) so we ended up here at Maverick’s with everyone else. Most everything served in this restaurant is of the freezer-to-deep fryer variety. The«fries» they serve here are frozen-fried puffs of air, that were cold by the time they got to our table. I think they might have once been potatoes, but that is unclear. I apologized to the waitress, but said I couldn’t eat the cold fries, she came back with a «warmer» plate and said«these are the hottest ones our chef has» — which almost made me spit out my flat and watered-down soda. So I guess if I take something out of the freezer, fry it and throw it under a heat lamp, I too can be a «chef». Totally comical. The tomatoes on the standard burger are the cafeteria kind — you know the ones: white in the center, hard as hockey pucks and tasteless. You also get the obligatory lettuce leaf, onion and pickle. Remember, it’s the burgers where this place«shines». True to form, the kids mac-and-cheese is Kraft. Heaven forbid that this restaurant serve something that doesn’t originate from a box. Frozen, fried, and out of the box, that’s how this place rolls. Also, my wife is a vegetarian. There is almost nothing on the menu at this place that isn’t infused with meat or cheese. She had guacamole and chips. I had a stomach-ache the next day from the food I ate here. I’m sure it was the over-used fryer oil that did it. We won’t be going back.

I really liked this place. The green chili was phenomenal. I say I believe then when they say they’ve won some awards for it. The bronco burger was awesome. Don’t worry, it’s not bronco and they won’t make you sit in a saddle when you eat it.
