Best German in 200 miles. I had the schnitzel with kraut, awesome. Red cabbage and hot potato salad are world class. I live 60 miles away but I’ll be back!!!

Excellent cultural corner! Great traditional food and tall cold beers. One of my favorite stops on the historic Granbury square. Staff and atmosphere are warm and inviting. On weekends there is sometimes live music(the night we went there was a lady playing the accordion singing traditional German songs and tunes) the music is not overbearing though and a casual conversation can still be held.

I was driving through Grandbury for work when I checked out Unilocal to find a place for lunch. This place popped up towards the top and looked interesting, so I checked it out. The inside is nice and cozy and has a real European vibe, with dark wood everywhere and German music playing in the background. I saw the special was rouladen, which is one of my favorites, so I ordered that and a Warstiener. The food came out quickly and was delicious… the rouladen was probably the best I’ve ever had(and that’s including my mom’s) and the spatzle and red cabbage was incredible. I checked out the biergarten out back, and it looked great, and is definitely someplace I’m going to visit next time I’m in Granbury. I’ll definitely be back!

This place is fantastic. The food is incredible — portion size is not a problem, quality is unmistakable. It just downright tasted GOOD. The service friendly, courteous, and prompt. This was our first time to dine but it will not be our last. My husband’s comment is «talk about 100% satisfaction!»

Really really slow service. It took 30 mins just go get our drink(alcohol) then when our food finally came our water came after that. Our food was cold. They over charged our group for two more pretzels than we ordered. We went to dinner at 3:45 and they were already out of several things on their menu. Just seems like this restaurant plans poorly. Wouldn’t go back. One of the worst meals we have had in a long time.

Appetizer and dinner very tasty. We tried the assorted sausages in the half order for our app and for 3 people it was a nice portion to share. My husband and I both had the original schnitzel. I had the spätzle and potato salad. The spätzle was light and fluffy. I also had the jäger sauce, which is a brown mushroom gravy. All very good. My husband had sauerkraut and fried potatoes. Also good. My son had the schnitzel sandwich and he liked it. All portions are large. We did have the dinner portion but the sandwich was also large. A little pricy but worth going there.

I’ve always enjoyed Ketzler’s. It’s a nice break from all the mexican and BBQ restaurants(as much as I love them). They often have chef’s specials that are off the menu. The jaeger fries!!!

I stopped in here this past Saturday and had the schnitzel with their homemade sauerkraut and spatzel. One word, delicious. Authentic German food. I haven’t had anything this good since I left Germany back in 1976. Highly recommended.

Excellent food and atmosphere! Would go there much more often if it weren’t that the prices are a little high for me. Good for special occasions though.

It was delightful. We loved it! The hungry meat-eaters with me had the Sausage Sampler with traditional bratwurst, smoked bratwurst, wiess wurst and nürnberger with sauerkraut. They said it was wunderbar! I am vegetarian/aspiring vegan and it was easy to find lots of delicious meat free options. I had the red cabbage, which was fantastic, a side of sauerkraut(of course) and the potato pancakes with applesauce. Nice staff. Great location. Lovely little place. Reasonably priced. Enjoyed it.

This place is just never on the ball when I am there. The service is consistently awful. We often order, reorder, and then end up calling the waitress over to remind her that we have STILL never received whatever we ordered. They are consistently out of menu items– pretzels but no cheese sauce, special advertised dessert… gone. I am seriously underwhelmed. They have some really decent German beer and their pretzels are good. Maybe you will get it-maybe not. :/

This place has a nice atmosphere and an old town feel to it. They have some great German Beers on tap, and if you like, you can try them all with their beer flight. I didn’t know this at first because the bartender didn’t mention it to me, so I just got a pint. They also offer food, but I had just eaten and wasn’t hungry, although I will come back in a couple of days and try out their food. They also have a patio for you to enjoy.

I cannot believe Ketzler’s Schnitzel Haus & Biergarten isn’t #1 on Unilocal for the Granbury area. It’s Amaaaaazing HOMEMADE German food. My wife and I ordered the schnitzel with the jäger sauce. There were two large pieces of schnitzel served along with two sides. We both got spätzel as one side and and I got the warm potato salad and my wife got the red cabbage as the other sides. The food was out of this world. The owner and her son were so incredibly warm and welcoming. Our waitress was very sweet and kept our coffee mugs filled to the brim and she was a great resource for suggestions off of the menu. The restaurant is decorated so warmly and it feels like you’re eating in a German family’s home. The Biergarten was so quaint and beautiful. Decorated with string lights. If the skies didn’t threaten rain and tornados we would have kicked back with a beer in the biergarten. Ketzler’s is a MUST when visiting the town of Granbury, TX. Don’t miss out on some great German food.

I had the pork schnitzel lunch plate. The pork breading was delicious and crispy. It came with one side and I had the potato salad. It was very good. Even though the food was good, I felt like for the price it should have come with two sides.

Staying in the area we decided to go German. Glad we stopped by, food and service were both very good. Hubby ordered a Paulaner Hefeweizen to drink. The original schnitzel with the jäger sauce, salad and the hot potato salad. He liked the whole meal. The jäger sauce is very tasty. I too had the original with the jäger sauce. But double fries as my sides. I am a very picky eater and I have my reasons for ordering a little different. As you can see by the pictures, my plate has sauce on the side for the following reasons: 1. A bad sauce can ruin the whole meal and this being my first time here I don’t like to take the chances of bad sauce all over my food. 2. Also I like to taste things as they are before smothering them. That being said the sauce ROCKS and I ended up pouring it all over my meal… even the fries got a taste of that deliciousness! The portions are big so come hungry! We walked the square afterwards, to help not going straight into a food coma. If we would have not ate so much we probably would have had dessert BUT the food was so good we couldn’t help but to finish it off. The décor is nice, it is German but doesn’t overwhelm you like some themed restaurants. In addition to the inside seating they have a patio out front, and out back is a patio AKA the beer garden. The only negative that I can come up with would be I couldn’t write my review in the restaurant due to no wifi. But that for sure will not stop me from eating there again if I am ever in the area.

The food might be good, we don’t know, because we’ve been sitting here for an hour waiting for it. It’s 1pm on a Sunday, and really not that busy. We waited 30 minutes just to get our order taken. Hope the food is better than the service. Don’t sit in the beer garden, it’s like you don’t exist

I am updating my review — early on they really struggled here. If you read my past review you would know what I mean. Wife and I strolled in today and I believe they have not only turned around but are thriving. I officially highly recommend ketzlers.

Thanks to a tip from the owner of D’Vine wine I found this new spot on the square this past Saturday. We stopped in around 5pm and sat out back in the biergarten. It was a beautiful day in the 70’s so it was perfect patio weather. Truth be told, I’m not the biggest fan of German food but I did enjoy the sampling that we got which included the potato pancakes and then some brats. I’m more of a beer drinker and thankfully the Germans perfected beer a long, long time ago. We got the beer sampler which comes with 6 different tasters of various German beers. Our server told us 2 or 3 times what each beer was but it would have been nice to have it printed out or on a beer menu of some sort. Long story short, we really liked the biergarten and would definitely come back on a nice day and enjoy some good German beers!
