Their claim of fame? Jesse James’ grave. Local legend has it that Jesse James died of natural causes in 1951, only three weeks shy of his 104th birthday in Granbury, Texas. The grave of the «real» Jesse James in Kearney, Missouri, is occupied by Charlie Bigelow, who was killed so Jesse could start over with a clean slate.
I’m not going to argue whether the legend is true or not. All I know is that I learned his middle name was Woodson.
