Came in yesterday looking for Arabic sweets. The ladies with the dark hair behind the counter were amazingly nice. Delicious arabic pastries, will be back!

I was hoping to ask a question& buy some yummy looking pastry. Unfortunately the guy behind the counter was more interested in his phone than a customer. All he had to say was Hi — I will be right with you. Nothing!!! The was one other customer picking up an order being helped by another person. Oh well. I can spend money elsewhere.

Thank God I don’t live near the bakery or I would be obese. The desserts in this place are fabulous. And the staff were so helpful and friendly. They allowed us to sample before we bought.

This is a long awaited review. To receive one star from me… well let’s just say you deserve it. Probably the worse customer service I’ve ever run into. For God sake, smile. We purchase our cakes from here for special events and I got so fed up, that this will be the last time I get anything from them. For the amount of money you spend on your cake, you’d think they would show some appreciation for your business. I had a situation where the carton board wasn’t flat and it ruined the side of cake for my brother in laws bday. When we brought it back to rectify and I was willing to pay for time as I know time is money, they ended up just blaming us and couldn’t do anything to fix it. My review is based on a accumulation of several visits. I would say their product is great but customer service goes a longer way for me.

Fresh and amazing I have noticed that there are certain pastries that are made on a daily basis. The baker is amazing and very friendly. There is only thing I am not too fond of and its there birthday cakes. I’m not a person who likes cakes that are too rich. If your the type that likes very rich cakes it would be perfect for you. Over all I like the place and visit it on a weekly basis.

I was here for the first time and got 2 different cake slices. The lady stuffed the slices into a container meant for 1 slice! She put one cake on its side because it DIDN’T fit so it stuck to the other cake and the icing facing the side of the box was smushed. I didn’t notice because I was busy paying. It was cheap and careless service. There was no thought to presentation or any pride in their service. I would feel worse if the cakes were excellent and I received poor service. But they were bland and so I’m not missing out by not returning here. Thankfully most businesses with quality products care about their service as well. The other star is because there was a guy there who was actually more courteous but he actually wasn’t the one who helped us.

Drove here from Thousand Oaks for special birthday pastries for my boss who grew up in Bagdad. This bakery came highly recommended and it was well worth the drive. The gentleman who helped us couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful! He helped us pick out a great assortment and my boss was thrilled. I’ll be back!

I give this place 4 stars just for the knafe alone! If you come here, you have to try it. I’ve had knafe from the original founders in Nablus but Vrej Pastry is the best. The cheese is oeey-gooey and the breaded topping is perfectly sweet. And the rose flavored syrup — don’t even get me started. Once I pop a slice in the microwave to melt the cheese, I am instantly in an altered state of mind. I used to always ask my dad to bring me some and he would surprise me with a whole tray. I’ve never tried any of their bakery items but I always see people ordering from them so I’m assuming their baked goods are just as good. The ladies who work there are nice too. It’s a little bit of a zoo but they always make sure to be fair so no one cuts in line. Come here and try the knafe — that’s all I have to say!

Love Vrej Pastry, Everything is fresh. Very tasty Knafe beljeben, it’s a middle eastern sweet breakfast food, although on Sunday mornings you have to wait in line may be 10 – 15 minutes to get them, but its is OK. The shop and service is Worth 5 stars, I am giving 4 stars because one Sunday morning after I got my knafet beljeben I wanted to get some other pastries also but the lady there said she doesn’t have the time. That is a NONO. It is a deduction of ONE star to me.

Norma is such a sweet lady. She was able to accommodate my cake request quickly for a baby shower the next day. The cake turned out gorgeous and it was delicious! I had to save the rest to eat for several days and was sad when I was on the last piece. Will be using her for my baby’s future birthdays. Thanks Norma!!!

I’ve been to this shopping center many times and noticed this place but never stopped to try. On this occasion I was on my was to Central CA and stopped to pick up some pastries to take to my family. I waited a few minutes before being helped. I decided on a box of mixed pastries. I picked about 10 different pastries. Since it was for a family gathering I didn’t try them all but my mom loved the one she got and I loved the two I tried. Most of the pastries in the box I got were $ 1.95. Reasonable. I’d return.

Bought a fruit tart from here and it was mediocre. The crust was somewhat dry and really didn’t have much flavor. I’ve had a better fruit tart elsewhere. I also tried the éclair and that was good. The éclair’s cream filling was of good quality. So overall, I would say this place is just«ok».

Of the nine things I tried, only the honey cake was likable. Otherwise, these pastries tend to be bland with low sweetness and low flavor. The baklava was firm instead of flakey. The cookies were so dry and crumbly that they fall apart despite the overly tacky jam fillings or dipped chocolate exteriors.

My family orders sweets from Vrej all the time. It is pretty much a staple at every family gathering we have. For my wedding we decided to order chocolates for the party favors from here. Now, I will say that they were extremely expensive for what they ended up being. But the packaging, the color, and the service were all absolutely great. I’m sure we will come back, because that is what we always do…

Ahhhh the wonderful flavors come to mind when I have some sweets from Vrej Pastry. While I think they do just barely enough with the quality of the ingredients of bulk purchase just to get by, it isn’t bad… it’s actually more of «just OK» mostly… as an end product. I had the chocolate Sable, which is supposed to be a brittle cookie sandwich, but it was very soft and the chocolate flavors and butters were barely there. It wasn’t bad, but I urge you to have Vrej next to LaGallette and you be the judge. Then I had the Tiramisu. While this is an Italian sweet, its not hard to make amazingly good, unless you don’t use fresh coffee, and decent Marsala wine, with Mascarpone cheese… unfortunately Vrej used some extra sweet something as the liquor, and the cookie fingers were mushy. Cream on top was not dense. This was simply bad. Maybe the worst one I have had. It was inedible! Then I tried a merang with chocolate mouse and chocolate covered sprinkles. This was pretty ok to good. Still missing the hit and flavors. We also had the Napoleon. The flakes were moist and didn’t have the crispness this dessert needs. But the crime fillings were ok. Next we tried was a fruit tart with chocolate and brittle. This was really good, and got the star. The Chocolate Croissant was nice and flaky, but the chocolate inside was one of the worst I have had. Not many places use quality chocolate for the filling. They don’t either. too bad. Also I wish I could have a bit more warmth of service, the person who helped me had a frown on her face which surely didn’t make me feel welcome. So for the north valley, either someone will open up a detailed higher quality and standards bakery, or you are forced to drive south to La Gallet or some other place. 2 major fails were Tiramisu, and Napoleon. The Fruit tart was very good. I wanted to be proud and love this place, but, it’s just OK to not so good mostly. They just don’t have the competition drive or desire to do better. I wish they did.

Update! I came in on a weekend and was actually able to get atayef! At the register, I told the employee that I was so glad to get the atayef because every time I order during the week, they tell me they won’t make it and only do so on the weekends. The girl gave me a weird look and said they do make it during the week! And I told her I’ve called multiple times during the week and they tell me know! She rolled her eyes and told me that the chef does make it during the week so of he says no, it’s because he is lazy! There you have it! If you cant get your orders during the week, you finally have your reason why! — — — — — — — — — – I’m over calling in and trying to make orders. They never pick up their phone and every person I’ve talked to there are not friendly at all. The younger employees are easier and nicer to deal with. I’ve called multiple times to order atayef and they NEVER have it. Either they make an excuse and something isn’t working or the chef doesn’t feel like making it. Then why is the chef there if he doesn’t want to make it? This has happened on multiple occasions. It’s never a pleasant feeling there. I remember one time I was bumped by another customer cause the place is so tight and they add extra tables with goodies to make it a squeeze. I accidently knocked a box of treats on the floor and the chef yelled at me! Uncalled for! It was due to being bumped by a customer! Anyway I can make my own treats and my money does not need to be spent at a place like this!

Great pastries! I am not specialist but some they say they are Armenian treats others Lebanon, I don’t really care every time we get their pastries we love them. Don’t know their names but the dates cookies are a MUST for us! Their selection is huge! Only ones I got a cake it was a strawberry shorts cake and it was pretty good. Yes, their are not the most friendly guys but I just want my cookies!
