Came here for the first time today. VERY tasty food. The cheese boreg was very delicious you can really tell they use good products as I’ve been to other bakeries in the area and they don’t even come close to Ani bakery. The lahmejune was perfectly marinated with spices that tasted great. I will be coming back for sure.

I don’t usually write reviews on Unilocal; however, I got a little upset at a 2 star review written by a customer recently. First of all, the meneish recipe has not changed whatsoever. It’s been consistent since I started going to Ani Bakery years ago. I could claim that it’s the best meneish I’ve ever had. Second, the reason the cheese tastes different is due to the cheese recall by the supplier. The owners would’be been open and honest if you had asked why the cheese tastes different — they were certainly with me. It upsets me how people are so ready to judge and write a negative review based on one experience they had. How about writing a positive review for all the great experiences? My family and friends have been going to Ani Bakery for years and I hope others have the pleasure of experiencing it as well.

I have always come here and thought it was the best bakery for Armenian goods that I have come to love growing up in the community of middle easterners in the valley. Its odd that being a bakery, I have not really reviewed it when it was great. My mistake. I have had Ani for years, since being across the street in the old location. Now for the past couple months I have noticed themeneish/arabic pizza like pie, known as the Meneish, I used to get has changed formulas… the thyme seasoning and maybe olive oil it used to use is now lower quality. Now it tastes the same as any other bakery and I have no reason to come here anymore. This is very sad news to me as I supply more than just my family, but other busiesses with Ani Bakery goods. Sevan Bakery is close also, among others, After doing some research, this topping is called zatar. Ani’s zatar was the best and their likely claim to fame. I as MANY others preferred the this thyme and flavor. There are 2 that I have discovered to distinguish from a harsh flavor to a pleasing one. If you follow packaging it is the Jordanian zatar that is a pleasing flavor, while the others are harsh and have that slight bite. I think they also changed the cheese combo on the triangle boreg. I don’t have this often, but I don’t mind as its not a major factor on the flavor like zatar is. But the meneish you can say it is ruined by changing the zatar!(Luckily the dough is still good, but doesn’t help the flavor). I also asked my other Armenian friends that also order from Ani, and they too agree. So the 2 star rating is accurate as now«Meh. I’ve experienced better». My cry for help would be to … PLEASECHANGETHEINGREDIENTBACKTOWHATITWAS!

Yumm!!! Visiting family and they recommended to pick up a couple of items… definitely a repeat place to visit. We ordered lunch to take home which included cheese bored and Lehmejune… both were great! We also ordered manesh and the spices on these were fantastic! Definitely a must visit again.

This place is amazing and I’m so happy to have found it! My boyfriend and I went there over the weekend to try their breakfast pizza(ajaragan) and it was SO delicious. After reading the positive reviews on here, we bought the lahmajun and other cheese/basturma boregs to try as well — all very, very good. To be clear, this place doesn’t seem to have any sweets/pastries. Also, the lady who helped us was very sweet. There is seating available(about ten seats?). We will be returning for sure!

Theirs is absolutely the best lahmajoun you can buy at any bakery… I used to live in Glendale, the center of the Armenian culinary universe outside of Armenia. I have tried every savory bakery there and nearby. Ani’s lahmajoun surpasses even the best of its competitors’. If you are not Armenian or Middle-Eastern and are not familiar with lahmajoun, do yourself a favor, and try it. It has earned the misleading nickname of «Armenian Pizza.» The only thing that makes it similar to pizza, in my opinion, is that it’s spherical and there is bread beneath a savory topping. Similarities stop there. There is no sauce and no cheese. It is a ground beef filling seasoned to perfection with fresh herbs and spices and spread on a thin flat bread and baked to perfection, yielding a crispy periphery and tender center. This is the perfect sandwich-like food, in that it is transportable and easily enjoyed in hand, hot or cold. To all the non-Armenians reading this review, put this in your kid’s lunch boxes as an easy and exotic alternative to the same old boring sandwich. I love mine slightly warmed with a squeeze of lemon. I’ve seen others pile on fresh herbs, cheese, tomatoes, olives and roll the lahmajoun like a burrito. It is one of those foods that everyone eventually figures out a favorite way of eating. I buy a dozen and put what I don’t eat in the freezer. Defrosting one at a time in my toaster oven whenever the craving arises. Ok, so enough of me raving about this one item. There are other baked goods at Ani, but I’m usually single-minded when I come here. To clarify, this is a savory bakery. They have several different staples that they always have and I know they have a catering menu where you can order miniature sizes of all of their items and special order some things not available daily. There are a couple of tables in the bakery where one can sit and eat, but I’d say this is mostly a pick up and take home kind of place. The people that work here are very nice, too! I would guess they are the owners of the bakery. It is great to see a mom and pop place putting out good food and being successful in a not-so-ethnic neighborhood, lending to Granada Hills’ rapidly increasing«flavor.»

I love this place. From a simple breakfast for 2, to a ful blown armenian style brunch for 10 this place has saved my butt. Is they don’t have it on their regular menu, chances are they can make it for you if you preorder it. Owners are very friendly! Store is very clean! I’m a forever customer

I love Ani Bakery. Their Lahmajuns are the BEST — I won’t get them from any where else. Also, from what I hear, their meneish is the best as well. I am not a meneish eater, but my parents, who live in GLENDALE where this sort of stuff is sold on every block, only want me to bring them Ani Bakery’s meneish because of it’s thinner dough. I highly recommend this place.

the best Lahmajoun I’ve had. squeeze some lemon, the dough is slightly crispy on edges and the amount of meat inside is plenty, take a bite and you will immediately taste the freshness, warm and succulent. yummy I am hungry for some more as i write this 5 star review.

this was my first visit during the afternoon the tops of the baked goods shelves had lehmejun and manaje, while the interiors had boeregs but not many shelves were filled; I’m assuming it will have the bakery full of the fresh smell and views earlier in the morning any who, i took out 4 types of boeregs today: spinach, cheese, spicy cheese, and meat. i also bought a bottle of regular Tahn. the flavors were good, dough was really good. the cheese ones were good for the cheese flavor, but the spicy could have used more«spice» the spinach was really bland, not much lemon flavor. The meat was also kind of bland, just the meat flavor and pine nuts on the plus the dough was delicious for all four but on the downside, the cheese and spinach boeregs were skimpy on the fillings; the meat had a good portion though i would love to come back and try Ani Bakery again though

Ok I just want to let all the people out there know that Vegan food is Yummy. Let me rephrase that… It all depends where you go? Ani’s Bakery doesn’t serve Tofu or fake imitation meats but what you get here is natural and pure whole foods and not to mention scrumptious. Ani Bakery has what is known as Meneishe which is Armenian oregano and Olive oil on bread. Throw some toppings like tomato, cucumber and mint leaves(See my mouth watering pic) and your set to start your day off right. They also have Potato Pockets and Spinach Borag which is stuffed Spinach inside bread Squeeze a little bit of lemon and your ready to sink your teeth into some goodness. Ani’s Bakery is the freshest bakery you can find in the valley. I have been coming here for years and will continue to do so. Hope you find my suggestions and photos delicious. They also have vegetarian pizza and yes that’s Vegan also. Enjoy because I know I am. :)

Nothing like a killer breakfast to start a day and that’s exactly what I had over at Ani Bakery. I highly recommend you try the manaish with cheese, tomato, mint and. The staff baked mine fresh, the dough here is out of this world! By that I mean I the texture/consistency is phenomenal, not dense or chewy, but light and airy with a wonderful crisp outer. So so good! For the uninitiated, manaish is a highly seasoned flat bread and is best when enjoyed right out of the oven. The thyme and other seasonings of a good manaish give it a zesty and savory taste that can’t be compared with any other food. Next I split the«Ajaragan» which is made using the same dough, but this time is loaded with cheese and then re-baked with an egg on top. The result is a filling and flavorful breakfast pizza. Delicious! I’m surprised my fellow Unilocalers haven’t found this gem of a bakery yet. If you live or work nearby, it’s definitely worth a try!
