Scoops is an ice cream lover’s paradise. I don’t think I’ve seen more options anywhere else. They serve seemingly every Perry’s flavor and La Via blizzards as well as a variety of shakes, sundaes, and whatever else you can concoct in your crazy sugar-craved brain.

On the road to Zoar Valley, we drove by this ice cream shop, and I made a mental note to return. Boy, am I glad I did! Inside this little hole-in-the-wall shop, in what I’d have to imagine is a very large freezer, they’re packing the largest selection of Perry ice cream flavors I have ever seen in my life. And that’s not all. When it comes to toppings, sodas and other accoutrements, you’ve also got a plethora of choices. Want brownies mixed in with your sundae? Done. Want to turn an ice cream flavor into a milkshake? You got it. How ’bout a root beer float? They have three — THREE — different kinds of root beer. And it’s all super cheap! Personally, I felt obliged to take advantage of the infinite possibilities(read: I have trouble making decisions). So, I ordered a Johnnie Ryan root beer poured over a scoop of cookie dough ice cream. «Uh, that’s kind of awesome,» said the nice lady behind the counter. The feeling’s mutual, Scoops. The feeling is mutual.

After spending a few hours frolicking in Zoar Valley, we wanted something cold. Beer or ice cream? Either way would have worked, except that we saw this ice cream shop on the way to the valley. So we ended up having ice cream instead. Boy, this is a phenomenal place. It’s the mecca for ice cream lovers. They have more than 80 flavors listed, and they can serve it to you in a cup, in cones of different types, they can even serve it to you in a float of whatever soda you happen to feel like having. Like I said, this is ice cream mecca. I ended up having the fireball, which is cinnamon-flavored. I initially ordered medium in a cup, but after seeing how big the serving was, I asked to be downgraded to a small. They gladly did it, no questions asked. I like that. Some places would probably get annoyed, but they were more than happy to accomodate. So yes, this is a 5-star place. They have indoor and outdoor seating. That being said, there’s still room for improvement. It would have been nice if they have public restrooms, although it is understandable that most people who buy ice cream typically just buy ice cream, eat it, and go.
