Sears Carpet Cleaning & Air Duct Cleaning

I should have come here before making an appointment to have my carpets cleaned.
After never receiving a call with my appointment time on the day of service, I finally called at 10;45 am to find out they would not be here until 3 – 6. I moved all my furniture – large and small – in preparation.
At 4 PM I get a call that their truck broke down and no one is coming. I was upset, understandably, and tried to argue that they should send a technician from one of the other 5 boroughs. I said they could even come after hours.
I was abruptly put on hold twice. The second time – after the operator audibly said «ugh” – was so long that I called on a 2^nd phone to see who would pick up first. Suddenly, both lines were disconnected at the exact same time. I called back and they had put their calls to their answering service.
So they cancelled my appointment and did not have the decency to finish the conversation or to reschedule.
These people are a joke.

With regards to my Sears carpet cleaning experience… The «technician» spent no more than 2 minutes cleaning an area rug that their office said was «too tough to clean.» Why am I paying $ 125 for a rug cleaning when the woman on the phone said, «we can’t clean those rugs with no backing»? The rest of the wall-​to-​wall carpet was not cleaned much better. The team they sent was in a huge rush to get out and did the job in less than 25 minutes. (It would take 25 minutes just to effective vacuum the same space.
She then said if I dispute the charge with Amex that I will lose because, «we always win our disputes with American Express.»
Let me ask, why do you have so many disputes? You’re obviously not doing a good job if you have that many disputes to deal with. Terrible customer service, Terrible service, period.
