This place is my go-to bar in Goshen. Good food, rotating craft beers, and the bartenders and waitstaff are awesome.

I know this is a regular for many but I just don’t feel it… the layout leaves me anxious tauter than comfortable. I have now ate here twice, and the food was edible but will not be repeated. The French fries and the pita pizza are actually not good. The hamburgers and BLT although edible were not that good. The staff are consistently friendly and they do have a great drink selection.

Amazing pad tai! We ordered ours to go so I don’t have a reference to the atmosphere but the food was fantastic. I will be watching their Wednesday night specials for more wonderful food.

The food was fantastic. I’m not much for the bar scene, but we came at a time when it wasn’t very busy. The presentation of the food looked like it belonged in a big city(nicely plated)…and at the end of it, the food was just wonderful.

When I have a terrible experience somewhere, I give myself a good 24 hours to cool off before I write a review. My 24 hrs is up and here I am, ready to slay. It was not my choice to come here. I was hesitant to begin with. I disliked everything. The crowd. The music. Laughable beer selection. What really angered me? The food. Everything about it. The price, the proportion, the amount of time I waited for food. I ordered a BLT and it was disgusting. I didn’t want kettle chips but it’s a $ 2 charge to substitute to fries. Flavorless kettle chips. I ate 3, and had to stop. I ate one half of my sandwich. Had to stop. The only good thing I can say about this place is the server was friendly and enthusiastic, even when he saw the unhappiness in my face. I feel bad that I was short with him. Oh well. It’s not his fault this place sucks.

One of the few places I found enjoyable in Goshen. Prices were reasonable, food was good, and the drinks were strong. Place had a hipster vibe to it, but it wasn’t overpoweringly so and the staff was very friendly and welcoming. Service was fast as well. Nice place.

It’s hard to write a review about the spring because I have mixed feelings about it. I love the selection of beers and the food is really good but very overpriced. The other problem I have is that the service really needs work and I have heard from many people having very horrible experiences. Just keep the food good, keep the beers awesome, get new servers, and lower the food prices and I wouldn’t have anything to complain about!

CS is a great little bar on the Goshen Main St strip. Excellent assortment of beers and ciders with new selections on tap every week. Unfortnately due to lack of competition and ownership turnover they still struggle with value for price on the menu and overall service. I just watched a couple leave in a huff after they put their name in for table, went to the bar for a beer, and then were completely forgotten about(it wasn’t even busy). I ordered my first beer and stared at my empty glass for an eon before anyone asked if I might like another. I ordered an appetizer thinking it would be served in a reasonable time but it took 45 mins. I will say it was delicious. The Pita Pizza had a delightfully spicey but not overwhelming sauce and plenty of mushrooms and mozzerella on a somewhat chewy pita. I saw the special, a shrimp & andouille gumbo, but the serving size was very small for the price and wasn’t served with bread or even crackers. Last, don’t waste your money on the internet jukebox. They won’t play it at enough volume to overcome the noisy din of the place. But then again, I think the clientele here would generally prefer conversation over music so that’s not a total knock. DO come her if you like good beer. Eat somewhere else.

Really nice bar w/popcorn! Interesting people on certain nights, neat selection of beer and guuud bartenders! Nowadays everybody think they can bartend, the worse were in San Diego, 8 years of torture — I ALMOST stop going out for a drink.

The beer was good, the bouncer was sour. Also I paid the juke box to play songs and they skipped them. 3 hours later I left rather annoyed that my tunes were skipped somehow.

Mediocre service, long kind, too noisy, and the jukebox didn’t even play my songs. #boycott #disappointment #thatthe…

Quite a fabulous spot. Besides the fact that burgers come with chips unless you pay 2 extra $, this space has almost everything one would need for a few nice hours with friends and chatter. Wide beer selection, much local stuff without it being obnoxious, and free popcorn ;) The space itself can seem uninviting at first though, it’s just one long room, not much to distinguish spaces within. But that is not the owner’s fault. Definitely will be back though.

Took me 2 hours to get a burger, which was alright. Love the atmosphere and old building. Great local scene and very friendly patrons. It’s nice when a local bar has friendly locals that make you feel welcome. Excellent beer and whiskey selection. Just need to work on the service. I didn’t mind waiting though because there was good company everywhere.

This is a great place to have some yummy sandwiches and delicious micro brews if you ever find yourself in Goshen, IN. We sat at the bar and was helped by a friendly woman who knew her beer and the menu. I am not a vegetarian but had the veggie burger(I love a good veggie burger) and my husband had the royal burger… we inhaled them along with beer and wine and played some pool! This is a great little place and every town should have a place like this!

I can only vouch for the drinks and atmosphere as we have yet to eat at Constant Spring, but it’s definitely on our list. My husband and I stopped in around 6:00 on a recent Saturday evening before heading over to Kelly Jae’s for dinner. The have an extensive drink menu and great craft beers on tap. My husband couldn’t resist a rum punch — $ 6 and it definitely packed a punch! I ordered a cosmo which was perfectly made and served in a chilled martini glass. We decided to stay for a second round as we caught the end of the ND game so my husband went with the Evil Czech vanilla porter and I ordered a dirty martini — again perfectly mixed. They have a great looking food menu and everything we saw being served around us looked great so we will be back to try. It’s a cute, kinda ecclectic place in downtown Elkhart… a place I wish we could find in downtown South Bend!

This isn’t just«a good bar for Goshen.» This is a really good bar, period. Full stop. And I live in the land of Craft Beer and Gastropubs*, so I’m kinda picky. I was in town for a memorial service(rest in peace, Grandpa) and decided by the end of a long day I needed to go out with my cousins and have a drink. This was described to me both as a great place and«The Mennonite Bar»(a hilarious statement by itself). + Excellent craft beer list. Up there with the best the Chicago area has to offer, I kid you not. + Also good wine and a full regular bar. + Great food menu that they take seriously. We sampled fried pickles, fried zucchini, french fries, my husband had chicken fingers and the friend who tagged along had a burger he proclaimed excellent. They also have free popcorn. + Great music, pool, friendly staff. + NOSMOKING. Indiana has not caught up with its smoke-free neighbor(Illinois) but this place has. The only tiny little downside? They stop serving food at 10. After that it’s only popcorn and I think pizza. Darn shame, I could’ve put away another order of fried pickles. It’s nice to know that the next time I’m in Goshen for a few days, I can get some great grub and a good beer at totally reasonable small-town Indiana prices. *Chicago metro area

Constant Spring sprang(sprung?) up after I graduated from Goshen College and moved to Chicago. When I come back and stop in, I’m so proud that Goshen now has a bar like this. They have a great selection of draft beers and I like how they now have a big menu of shots, mixed drinks, and beers listed above the bar. They’ve got darts, a pool table and fussball table. Last night(Saturday) had a very diverse crowd and positive feel, although the dj had some mixing issues – sounded like he was experimenting a little with pitch/tempo changes, which resulted in some funky transitions. And at first, the only seating was up by the DJ and speakers, and it was super loud. I knew two of the bartenders from my time in Goshen, which was lovely. Overall, a great small town bar that could easily hold it’s own in a big town like Chicago. (no smoking too! awesome)

Let me start off by saying that Goshen finally has a cool place to hangout. I wish I could give this 4 or maybe even 5 stars.. . but they have some work to do. I went here with some friends on Friday after Christmas. I’m sure this is probably one of the busiest nights of the year for them; with all of us out of town folks around. Here’s my take on Constant Spring in bullet point format. * Great Location(downtown Goshen) *Cool interior; restored store front. *Good prices.. . cheaper than Chicago anyway *Get to see old friends. priceless *Ample parking behind the bar *The music was from 2003, which granted, I still like but really? Lets update the music portfolio. *30 minutes to get two beers from the bar? Simply unacceptable. *Out of Miller Lite and Bud light before 1:00AM? Someone needs to do a better job of ordering don’t you think? *Bartenders really seemed to lack personality… the bar isn’t laid out in a manner where they can be quick and efficient because they are constantly going from one end of the big bar to the other trying to prepare basic drinks. They should setup a few stations so people can concentrate on a section of the bar and not running back and fourth. I would go back, however this place needs some major work on their service. I will never ever wait that long for a beverage again. Their tip was dwindled down to zero pretty quickly.
