This was me and my boyfriends first snowmobile experience ever. Everyone there was helpful in making sure we were comfortable and geared up properly. We only went for an hour which I liked because my feet were freezing after the first ½ hour(note to self– bring foot warmers next time because 2 pairs of socks just don’t cut it) Anyway we went out with a guide the fastest we went was 20/25mph my boyfriend wished he could have gone faster I on the other hand was comfortable doing 15mph ha ha. We had a great time and hope to return in future visits to New Hampshire!

Not sure what the negative reviews are all about, but we sure had a great experience! It was our first time snowmobiling considering we’re from Boston and we can’t wait to come back. Made a reservation for the 3pm two-hour guided tour for the same day and the staff made sure to answer all our questions. We did not come prepared(no gloves/gear/etc.) but the staff suited us up with everything we needed before we hit the trails. We didn’t have the best sled but it was still in good shape and let us go up to 60mph. Overall the trails, staff and our first snowmobiling experience was awesome!

These guys are awesome! The staff is very attentive and the sleds are in great shape. Direct access to the trails and they give you maps and a gps tracking device just in case. They have clothing rentals too. We had a group of 7 and they got us suited up and on the trail very quickly. This was my first time snowmobiling and I had a great time. I already want to come back.

Honestly, I have no idea why other Unilocaler’s have trashed this place? I’ve rented from Terry, the owner, twice in the past at the FRYEBURG, ME location and the experience was great. Matter of fact, I just booked his early-bird special for $ 99 and plan to visit there in late February from Washington, DC. I will admit, booking and calling the place is hectic, the man is VERY busy, so be patient as you maybe on hold a few times. It’s a small, private run business with minimal staff. IE: Don’t expect a high-level of detailed customer service(it’s not a hotel or restaurant) Not many places are un-guided, most of time, you have to head out with a group and putz around bird watching & listening to historic lessons about the environment. That’s great for some — but if you wanna«hop-on & go» — this is the place to rent. ONETIP: watch your surroundings for cues getting back & give yourself enough time to get back to main lodge, it’s very easy to get lost and GPS doesn’t work very well. After reading the reviews below, I feel bad for those people, but I had a completely different experience. The wife and I book a few hours, easy parking, signed the papers, geared up, and we were on our way. Friendly staff, especially the welcome dogs. The snowmobiles ran a little thick on oil, so it smoked a bit. They were not the newest snowmobiles on the market, but they ran great, fast(hit 60 in a open field, maybe more in the wife wasn’t grabbing on me so tight). Trails in the area are nice. I had a good time, would go back, and recommend this to others.

if you are reading this review, please let the three 1 star ratings be a warning to you to not go to Northeast Snowmobile Rentals in Fryeburg, ME! I never write reviews and I am not affiliated with any other snowmobile rental companies, but I felt strongly about writing this review because the employee who answered the phone at this business was soooooo rude! I called to ask some questions since I had never been there before. He quickly rattled off some information, which I told him did not answer ANY of my questions. He then said he was too busy to answer questions! Can you believe it?! I guess he doesn’t care about good customer service or the $ 500 he would have gotten from us. You would think if they were too busy to answer questions, that they would hire an extra person that could do that! Anyway, I have never been to this business and NEVERWILL!
