I have serious trust issues when it comes to getting my hair cut. I blame this entirely on my parents who used to take my sister and I to the hairdressing school in town to get weird bobs done in the early 1990s. As a matter of fact, at the beginning of my twenties I went about five years without cutting my hair… and then I met Tammy Chamberland. I would follow that woman to the ends of the earth, that’s just how damn good she is at what she does. She is patient, she is thoughtful, and she listens. I don’t know about you, but those are three things I absolutely NEED in my hairdresser(stylists who have their own agenda and your head in their hands? Dangerous combination). I don’t know what I’m doing with the mop of brown tangles on my head, so when I see her I just yell things like: «I want mermaid locks», or «I want 1970’s porn layers!», or(most recently) «I want District 12 Katniss Everdeen hair!» And, working with me, she creates something that looks good and is manageable for me personally(because I’m lazy and refuse to put effort into making my hair look good). I haven’t had my hair cut or styled by any of the other folks who work here, but they all seem wonderful, professional, personable, creative, and considerate as well. They go out of their way to build real relationships with their clients and are genuinely interested in you(and what YOU want) for the duration of your time there. So, do you want an amazing cut for an amazing price by amazing women? 2nd Stop Hair Shop might be the place you’ve always been looking for. So, don’t let this unassuming clean and charming little salon fool you — there’s some serious talent hiding just outside of the Portland city limits!
