3.5 Stars My family and I had a mixed review of Sugar n Spice(SnS). Nothing bad, it was average to pretty good. We had the chorizo, egg and potato burrito. Living in the metro Phoenix area we have so much good chorizo at our disposal. For a breakfast place in this metro area to offer a very average chorizo was a bit of a let down. We were amazed at the quality of eggs in the burritos. The eggs were very fluffy, very moist and nothing one is accustomed to eat from a fast casual restaurant. That alone will have me try SnS other burritos. We had a stuffed turkey and cheddar croissant. SnS really overachieves in the croissant department! It was very flaky and buttery and the stuffing made the experience even better. I have had the ham, swiss and jalapeño croissant on a different occasion which was excellent as well. I would make the ham, swiss and jalapeño my regular! The rockstar at SnS are the donuts! We only sampled the Oreo topped donut, old fashion and apple fritter. Every single one exceed my expectation. We will return here for donuts for sure! SnS has a robust selection of teas and coffee options you would expect at a breakfast place that also serves lunch sandwiches. Plenty of seating and condiments galore to finish off your drink. My family and I will be back to try more of their menu. Great value for what is served!

What a nice little place. Coffee drinks were delicious. I had the breakfast bowl and my wife had a breakfast burrito. What I liked was that the serving size was reasonable and not overloaded. I would rather eat till satisfied than feel guilty about leaving food on my plate or feel overstuffed because I tried to eat everything. The prices were very reasonable. The service was unexpectedly fast and the staff were friendly and interactive.

Summary: best doughnuts, smoothies, breakfast sandwiches and coffee with bargain prices; mediocre sandwiches and watch out for Millennium high school traffic — the whole store changes Detail’s: 1. best doughnuts. None better in the valley unless you go to Randy’s Doughnuts in Los Angeles. 2. best smoothies. I prefer the berry mixtures however you can’t go wrong with these drinks. 3. Best breakfast sandwiches. You can have it your way — fill out a slip, choose a mini desert and give to the friendly cashier. 4. Great coffee. I love the S&S special blend. 5. bargain prices. Big city taste at small town prices. 6. mediocre sandwiches. Yes I was surprised also however nothing special here. 7. watch out for Millennium high school traffic — the whole store changes. Yes, without warning coffee options are put away, the store changes to accommodate the security required for our A Rated Districts finest students. Early in the AM is my favorite time to nosh.

Love going here for weekend breakfast and donuts. The service is what I enjoy the most. Everyone is treated like a regular and they make you feel like you are appreciated. The gentleman who is always there seems to be the owner and is super helpful and very accommodating. Will be there much more in the years to come!

What a cute place! Came here this morning for some coffee and breakfast. As soon as we walked in, it smelled like fresh donuts! I ordered a vanilla latte, a plain glazed donut, and a bagel sandwich with Swiss, avocado, and sausage. The latte was just alright. It was very watery though. I’m not sure what kind of milk they use or what it was. It tasted good, just a little weak and watery. The donut was sooo good! It was light and fluffy and sweet. The bagel sandwich was awesome! It tasted very fresh and homemade and I loved that they had avocado. My friend ordered a caramel iced coffee with cream. The girl behind the counter asked if she wanted to make it a latte, which makes me think they interchange the two, which is why it was watery for a latte. Maybe they made an iced coffee with milk in it? She ordered a blueberry bagel with cream cheese that was good too. Everything in their bakery case looked amazing! I want to try the bran muffin and all of their donuts! I would come here if you want delicious baked goods, but not necessarily coffee. They did have a large selection of drinks though(tea, smoothies, hot chocolate) so I will try something new next time. It was worth the 15 minute drive.

This is the best coffee and donut shop I’ve ever been to. I no longer live in the area but everywhere I try always gets compared to Sugar and Spice and nothing comes close. Every time I’m back in town this is the first place we come to. The croissants are my favorite — tough pick between the turkey/cheese and the almond. The coffee is also very good.

Decided to give this place a try today as its right across the street from my house. I got a dozen donuts, they have a great selection. Donuts are moist and very good. I’m partial to Dinkins myself and these are right up there! Loved the selection they have of croissants as well. I will be back to try their sandwiches. I also had their Sugar N’ Spice coffee. Very good! I would highly recommend giving this locally owned business a shot. Prices are extremely fair as well

3.5 starts… Mixed feelings… Went here on a Saturday morning around 9am… The place was busy, but not too bad. Service is quick, there were several people at the counter ready to help… We ordered ½ doz donuts and breakfast sandwiches. Donuts were given to us right away, sandwiches took a few minutes to prepare. BREAKFASTBAGEL(egg, sausage, cheese). You can choose from their variety of cheese and bagels… Nice and warm, a lighter bagel, not super dense, warm and toasted slightly. Hubby ordered a BREAKFASTCROISSANT and same thing, it was nice and hot, a decent portion. Good sandwiches for the price. Hubby also wanted to try their CHORIZO breakfast burrito. It would’ve been good, except that it was very spicy. Our tolerance to spicy food is a little low but we can usually handle a little spice… But this was too spicy, he couldn’t have more than a couple bites. Not sure how I feel about the donuts. My kid had a chocolate bar. It was very soft, airy/light, and moist. All good qualities except that it tasted like maybe it was a bit undercooked, too yeasty… I also sampled their blueberry old fashion, chocolate old fashion, and chocolate buttermilk… These donuts all tasted very dry and not much flavor. I expected a burst of blueberry flavor, but it’s was extremely subtle… And there was no taste to the chocolate old fashion. the layer of chocolate glaze was thin(which is fine) but there wasn’t any chocolate flavor(where are you?!). The chocolate glazed buttermilk has a little more donut taste to it, but also a bit too dry. The décor where you order is cute, warm, inviting, and very pink… The dining area in the next room felt bare/bland, even with all the cute wall art. It wasn’t necessarily dirty or messy, but there wasn’t really anyone checking on the dining area and straightening up, I actually wiped down a table myself so we can use it. The chairs that were rearranged by previous customers stayed that way. And the tables and chairs seemed dated and didn’t match the cute décor of the other room(where you order)… Whenever I’m back in town, I wouldn’t mind coming back for their breakfast bagels/croissants, but I’ve had better donuts.

The reviews praising the sandwiches really oversold them. My girlfriend and I ordered a breakfast bowl and a croissant sandwich, and they both looked like a cheap frozen microwave breakfast. To be blunt, they were gross looking and had no flavor. The coffee was not bad and the staff were very friendly. In closing I would not recommend eating anything other than perhaps their donuts.

I love this place! Their donuts are fresh and perfectly balanced. We always get the ham or turkey croissant. The breakfast burrito with double the egg is just what you need in the morning. And if you really want something sweet, the cinnamon bun puts Cinnabon to shame. Next time I go I am going to try the dirty chai… Sounds so good. P. S. They have delicious specially donuts as well– like bacon & maple or Oreo. AWESOME!

I was excited to visit this place for breakfast, and the experience was… average. Customer service was a bit poor, as the baristas did not look friendly, and sounded like they did not want to be there. It made me more hesitant to ask questions about their drink options. I wanted a green tea latte, but they did not serve that. I wanted to ask if they can use the matcha boba drink powder, but the cashier’s face told me that if I asked, it’ll ruin his day. I’m not exaggerating… We also ordered two breakfast sandwiches, a bowl, and a burrito to go. There are a LOT of eggs in the meal, so if you’re an egg lover, check it out. I don’t recommend the bacon. Try the chorizo, that tasted the best.

I cannot eat any other deli sandwiches now that I have Sugar and Spice in my life. I don’t know what it is about them, but there’s nothing else like it. My absolute favorite is their chicken salad on toasted white bread with lettuce, cucumbers, banana peppers and jalapenos. Their egg salad is also tasty too… but the chicken salad is to die for. The best part is that it is so very local! The owner is there almost every single time I’m in. Not only do I obsess over their sandwiches and dream of them until I have it again, but their housemade pastries are to die for as well… along the lines of Bashas. The sprinkled donut is a staple of my visits, but their chocolate croissant is definitely a must-have as well. I have had their cronut too, but it was a little too sweet for my liking. I’ve got their sandwich to go and eat picnic style at the Litchfield Park Lake too and it’s just so dang glorious! I have yet to try their breakfast treats(besides the donut for lunch of course) but their teas and coffees are worth a visit alone too.

Came in here Easter Sunday for a quiet place to have lunch, it wasn’t busy and this was our first time visiting so we had a chance to browse the menu a bit and see what they had to offer. We ordered an Italian Hero, Sausage Breakfast Burrito and a BLT. Everything was made very well and had absolutely no complaints! Before we left we ordered a half a dozen donuts(but I was hoping to get a cupcake, didn’t see any available!). It’s a very cute little place to eat, could use a little TLC as new paint is needed in the seating area but overall very clean. Four stars, food was great but bakery selection was low, may have just came in at the wrong time. Will definitely visit again, I still want a cupcake!

We love this place! The owner is super nice! I would recommend trying the pistachio muffin & cranberry/orange muffin which are my favorite here besides their breakfast sandwich which are made to order. They have a variety of selections of pastries such as donuts, filled croissants, muffins and many others. My favorite drink is the SNS iced coffee which is more like your Vietnamese style coffee. If you haven’t tried the place, go check them out!

I came here after much recommendations from coworkers. They had brought in muffins and this delicious apple turnover. Both experiences have been heavenly. The muffins were exquisite and the apple turnover, my absolute FAVE! I finally had their breakfast and it wasn’t my favorite but the donuts were really good! I had a croissant sandwich and it was too greasy. My husband had a burrito and the egg was a weird color and kinda bland. I wouldn’t come back to eat breakfast but definitely come back for some more delicious sweets! The staff was so nice and welcoming. I would also come back for the excellent service.
