The movies regulary start late and have no sound until you let the staff know about it. The theatre is not very clean and smells musty. I prefer to go to Wynsong just a littel down the street. It’s ironic since I believe both theartres are owned by Carmike.

My fiancé and I came here recently for a movie during our date night. The staff was friendly and the service was good. My only complaint was that the movie we went to see(Brave) was supposed to start at 5:10, but started 20 minutes late. It also didn’t seem clean in my opinion.

Aside from being hard to find, this theater paled in comparison to Wynnsong down the street. The theater was not well lit, and the movie(Brave) started 20 minutes late! Also it did not seem very clean or well staffed. For the money I might just as well go to Wynnsong 10 instead next time.

Am I the only one that has had a fantastic experience ??? // I had a great experience recently when I went to see Harry Potter in 3-D at Rivergate 8. I chose to see it during a week night and had a grand ol’ time. There were no lines, the clerk running what seemed to be the entire theatre was AMAZING, the theatre was very clean, and the production showed up nice and clear on the big screen. So after reading everyones’ reviews, I had to write my own. I. honestly, would really hate to see this theatre fail. I like the smaller more intimate environment. I like the location. Heck, I even like how unpopulated it is! I will be going back and I hope others do as well. I stand behind my four stars and wish Rivergate well.

I’ve been here a couple times, and it’s not a bad theater. If it’s the closest thing to you and its playing your film give it a shot. They don’t have a lot of theaters, so their aren’t a lot of movies playing at once, but they are all relatively new. It’s clean. Ticket prices are comparable to the competition as are concession prices. The theaters themselves aren’t huge, but they get the job done. I will say I don’t go out of my way to go here though.

It doesn’t take a lot to be an acceptable movie theater. As long as you show movies(at least some relatively current ones), people will show up. Unfortunately, the Rivergate 8 Cinema is one of my least favorite theaters of all time. Rivergate 8 has been around for what seems like forever, and, while they show the new blockbusters, they can only show about five movies at a time. I suppose if you’re shopping in the Rivergate area and just want a quick spot to see fun movie(nothing independent or foreign… ever), this place will do.
