Best chicken shawarma in the Baton Rouge area, period.

Staff was super friendly. Place was very clean. Gyro was very good and the Tzatziki sauce was really good. The stuffed grape leaves were a little tough and on the bland side. Cabbage rolls were also on the bland side. Ok though. Hummus was a little bland the pita was ok. I will return just for the gyro because it was so good. I hope this helps.

Everything about this food was amazing! From the fried cheese to the hummus. The chicken schwarma was so good, and the hummus was the best I’ve ever had. The salad was fresh and dressed to perfection with wonderful flavors. My husband and I are beyond pleased, and grateful to have found a place locally that we mutually love. I hope everyone tries this place at least once…

We are always looking for good Middle Eastern food, so tried this place when we were in the neighborhood. The chicken schwarma was basic and tasted great. The feta cheese in salad was finely crumbled and the salad left a nice garlicky taste that I’ve come to expect afterwards. Food was generally bland. Hummus was smoothly whipped, but did not have made from fresh beans flavor.

Excellent food! Have been a couple times and they never disappoint. Meat moussaka is fantastic! But the real prize is the chicken shawarma pasta! The service is fantastic as well. Everyone in the restaurant is friendly and attentive!

I love this restaurant. The employees and owner are friendly, excellent service and of course the food is excellent. My husband and I along with friends and family have dined at Kamals probably for the past 8 years. It’s about a 20 –25 minute drive and worth it. We drive all the way to Gonzales for Lebanese food because the local mediterranean restaurants are not as good. Mr. Kamal always greets us and we always ask him for suggestions. The food is always fresh, portions are large and we always have to get a to go box. For dessert you cannot go wrong ordering either the tiramisu or baklava. Looking forward to going back again real soon!

Had a great dining experience that started from the moment we entered the restaurant. Our server, Ryan, was an excellent host and immediately offered suggestions after we mentioned it was our first time eating Lebanese cuisine. As per Ryan’s suggestion, we ordered Kamal’s Kafe Meza, a huge collection of dishes that included a savory Grecian dip and chicken and Gyro. I didn’t like all the dishes, but I was pleased with the chance to taste dishes new to me. We brought home two containers full of food! For dessert we had a decadent slice of tiramisu. The food and the service were outstanding.

Kamal’s is one of our favorite restaurants. Service is friendly and fast. Food is always top notch. I have so many favorite dishes that I have a hard time choosing! They have the best chicken shawarma. I also love the kabob’s. My husband’s favorite is the cajun pasta. We go often, because we know we’ll always get good food, good service, at decent price.

Great food with Kamal always there to make you feel welcome and satisfied with your food. The Chicken Delight with the Chicken Sharma is my go to for lunch.

Had the combination plate for lunch. As always, delicious. The owner is very friendly and always goes above and beyond to make sure the experience is great. Portions are large, chicken was very tender and gyro was perfectly cooked.

We drove from New Orleans to visit family and to have KAMALSCAFE… our all time FAVORITE Greek/Lebanese restaurant! They were closed & the hours on the bldg say closed on Sunday. We’re very disappointed, but I’m going to give 5 stars anyway b/c the food and service has always been awesome!

Went for a business lunch and was very impressed! Owner Mr Kamal greeted us and sat us at our table. While observing him with Patrons it seems like he has a great relationship with them. Food was tasty and of course an enormous amount! I needed a to go box. Restaurant was clean and tidy and prices were just right! Definitely will have to go back!

We eat here often. I got the med chicken. Wife got the soup and salad combo. Med chicken has a tiny kick delicious always prepared wonderfully. The meza tower appetizer could feed a small army.

I’m shocked at the number of positive reviews. I eat Lebanese at least once a week and I’ve eaten here several times in the past and swore it off after my last visit wasn’t even edible. I ordered the fried cheese as an appetizer and it arrived to the table with burnt slices of cheese sitting in black grease. I was dumbfounded that the waiter even placed it on the table. Then he acted shocked when I asked to return it, which is something I rarely ever do. Well at the insistence of friends, I visited once again for lunch and once again the food was terrible. The chicken shawarma was black all around the edges and was extremely dry to the point that I couldn’t eat it. The salad was mediocre at best with wilted brown spotted lettuce and I find their dressing to be on the pungent side. I tasted my lunch the rest of the day, Yuck. This is not a very good representation of what Lebanese food should taste like and definitely not the best this area has to offer… thank goodness.

Had the Gyro Plate. Unlike other reviews I found the Hummus to be rather bland. The meal did not come with onions or Taziki sauce(what they call Grecian Sauce). I had pay extra for both? Really? Are you kidding? What Gyro doesn’t have those components already?

Good food, very clean, friendly owners. Mmmmm, the fried cheese. The gyro, stuffed grape leaves and lamb are some favorites. Lebanese Ice Tea. Delicious. Fast service, fresh food, great staff, good prices.

I’ve eaten here a couple of times before getting on Unilocal and this was my 3d time here, I do love this place and I definitely enjoyed this trip as well as my first 2 times. I have always gotten the Gyro Plate with Greek Salad. OUTSTANDING!!! However, they have an extensive menu and I really need to branch out on my next trip!!! The hummus and pita bread before the meal is tasty and the fried cheese appetizer is the BOMB!!! The portions are just right and if you leave hungry then it’s your fault. The atmosphere is low key, the lighting while not dim is low. It would really be a great place to take a date. So if you’re looking for something one date night keep this place in mind. The waitress we had tonight was great and mixed a stiff drink. TASTY!!! They only have one foreign beer, some type of Lebenese beer and it’s on the«to try» list next time I’m in. Also, there is a rather cool looking cigar bar in the same location that I’ll have to check out as well. Give it a try, you’ll like it!
