Jumonville’s Bakery, if your sign says open until 2:00pm and I pull up at 12:45 I fully expect to be able to order food. Today that didn’t happen, I was told the deli was already closed and cleaned… well my wallet is closed from now on for your business which is a shame because I passed dozens of restaurants on my way from Baton Rouge just to get what I think is the best ham and cheese Poboy in the state from y’all. See ya!

While I have lived here all my life, this was only my third visit here. I always favored Cal’s Bakery, but now since they are no longer, I thought I’d try and find my next go to local bakery. Well this isn’t it. It might be mission impossible to find brownies to measure up to Cal’s, but I am determined. I also tried the white chocolate macadamia cookie and M&M cookie as well as the apple fritter. The cookies weren’t even edible because they were so hard I was afraid I’d end up in my dentist’s chair having a root canal. Obviously cookies are not their forte. In fact the only positive out of the order was the apple fritter. It was cooked just right, though only a small amount of apple and it was nice and soft on the inside and not greasy at all. I would definitely order this again, but can’t say I’d make a special trip for it. I’ll have to find out their specialty items and report back at a later date. I’m sure there’s something I’m missing.
