Another nice winery, the California Merlot is my husband’s favorite. Very easy to drink, we served it at our wedding. The Malvasia Bianca is a really nice fruit forward out of the bottle on a hot summer day type of wine. Also, cute gift shop and art gallery.

As if getting to a tasting room at 9am wasn’t enough for me, we ended up on the road to our next venture and came across Blackstone Winery. We arrived just as the poor server was unlocking the gates. Thankfully, we weren’t the only people there. An impressive tasting room with quite a presence. Clean and sophisticated, along with their wines. Cute little shop, wonderfully landscaped estate and it’s hard to not walk out of there with a bottle. Mid level price range, comfortable on the wallet, not easy(that’s Joe B.) but all in all a nice room to visit.

Let me tell you a little secret: I’m easy. At least act surprised, jeeez. Not in that way, actually, just for Syrah. At this point in the trip, I was pretty damn easy, and got a bottle here. Wine tasting is about discovering your own tastes and palate, and there’s a world of discovery out there, but I know this for sure: Syrah does wonderful things in my mouth. Jesus, people, gutter, I swear! ;-) watch out for the gang of ducks here, they like to defend their turf and they don’t give a shiznit.

There is a huge sign on 101 for it. They have some great tasting wines and its fun to take a quick pit stop to try them!
