Okay. Let me first start this review off by saying the trust these farmers put in their patrons is amazing. They leave out all the food for you to buy and it is a complete honor system. No one works the booth. In the back you can feed the animals and see them. On top of all this you can pick your own. A lot of fun for a road trip stop. The stand is completely organic as well. Happy picking!

Absolutely love this place!!! Went twice to this place. Once during the week and then the weekend. Was so surprised that they run by an honor system during the week. It definitely says something about the business. I hope that no one takes advantage of that though. I really love the process of picking my own strawberries it was so much fun. And afterwards feeding the goats and pigs was so exciting. If you have kids definitively take them here they will love it ! Speaking for myself as a kid at heart.

We love this produce stand! It’s organic! It’s local. What more needs to be said? Ok I guess more. The few people we have talked to when we have popped in have been fabulous! The cookies they sell are super yummy. :) The produce is great ok so it’s a bit more than your local grocer but it’s local it’s organic you know where it’s coming from. You are supporting local farmers. They have tables to sit and chill at animals to pet. U-Pick Raspberries. Cold drinks. So if you are on your way to Nojoqui Falls, the Beach, Solvang, Wine Ghetto, get some local produce and bread and cookies here. You won’t be sorry. Once you eat local produce you will find it difficult to eat the mass shipped stuff from major grocers. Yes, we love this market stand.

Found this place randomly while looking through places in Santa Barbara to visit on the drive back home. I’m so glad I found this! My group had just talked about wanting to go strawberry picking and, lo and behold, The Farm Stead had an open strawberry field. We got to pet and feed animals like goats, donkeys, and pigs. Sadly there were no llamas when we went today. They had other foods to buy including their fresh picked veggies as well as bread, cookies, and lemonade. We purchased our picked strawberries as well as a loaf of the rosemary sourdough bread they had to sample. I wish I lived closer because I would visit quite a bit to buy delicious foods. If you’re nearby make sure you pay it a visit!

This place is the coolest ever! We stumbled upon this farmer’s market while taking a detour from Solvang. Off the beaten path and well worth the stop! It’s ran as an «honor system» meaning there are no employees– prices are listed and there is a locked box to put your money in. They had soooo many incredible fruits and veggies. An added bonus is they have piggies and goats! It was so fun feeding the goats(they sell food for .50 cents) and they are actually super sweet and not aggressive at all. I wish this was close to my house, what a GEM!!!

Farmstead is a wonderful community resource. They offer a variety of delicious, organic, local produce, all year long. The eggs are some of the best I’ve ever had, and they even raise heritage pigs for food. I’m vegetarian, but I’ve heard it’s amazing. On Market Days, there are additional goodies like homemade sauces, pickled vegetables, honey, and even local olive oil. Everything is healthy, delicious, and sustainable. It’s conveniently located, too, between Santa Barbara & Buellton, just off the 101. It’s super close to Nojoquoi Park, which is also worth a like for a pre produce hike.

We went there to use the bathroom, and ended up staying there for over an hour getting groceries and playing with the piglets and donkeys. Beautiful hills, Friday, Saturday and Sunday’s they have a Farmers market Their Donkey is the softest animal in the world Piglet SOO cute, their little noses kept sniffing me 50 cents for a bucket of grass to feed the animals, the goats will grab them out of your hands Ginger the male pig was so nice Fernando, the goat will sniff and take the greens from your hands. Grreat for kid and a adults.

Came here excited after reading the great reviews, left disappointed. We arrived at 9 when it said it was open & saw 2 workers inside the shop so decided to go in. We were completely ignored the whole time we were there & had no idea where we could go or not go or what the hec was going on. I’m giving it 3 stars because of the cute animals and the property but not 5 because of the much needed social skills training the staff needs. Maybe we caught them on a bad day?

Such an adorable shop — it far exceeded my expectations! It looks so small from the front, but the inside is so tidy and has plenty of fresh goodies from produce to honey and eggs. The presentation is satisfying. Even more pleasant is the back of the shop. Today we saw seven baby pigs, goats, and ponies. You can feed them a cart of lettuce for $ 0.50. My favorite thing was the you-pick strawberries for $ 3 a cart. They also have you-pick tomatoes for $ 4, but none were available today.

My Girl Scout troop descended on the Farm Stead like a horde of locusts during a recent camping trip to the Santa Ynez Valley. The staff was amazingly gracious and really went out of their way to provide a memorable and eye-opening experience to our troop of city girls. The farmstore llocated in an early 1900s barn looks great and has an great selection of pepared jams, jellies, chocolate, etc. that the parents really enjoyed. The Farm Stead was was the highlight of our camping trip and will be a highlight of any trip to the Sovang/Santa Ynez Valley area.

This place is amazing in many different aspects. The look is a rustic old barn look. It’s actually an authentic barn. From the outside it is welcoming. When you step in, it’s like going back in time. Fresh fruit and vegetables neatly displayed. A Small refrigerator with water, lemonade, eggs and chocolate. The ginger lemonade is awesome sauce. The eggs are multicolored. I even got a green one. Green egg and ham in the morning. Getting my Dr. Seuss on. They sell local raw and unfiltered honey, sweet ! Organic pistachios, almond and self –serve olive oil. All different types of bread and two type of cookies. The peanut butter ones are so delicious. I ate them with the fresh strawberries. PBJ on another level. Organic home-made strawberry jam and ketchup . Angelia was the greeter/cashier. She has a great disposition and also very beautiful. She gladly answered my many questions. Definitely an added bonus to the good vibe at the Farmstead. Very helpful and patient as well. Outside is like a petting zoo. Cute piglets, pigs, greedy lazy goat, white donkeys, brown donkey and the nonsocialable Llamas. They have a bucket with vegetables that you can feed the animals with. Very cool experience. I felt like a little kid. No stinky odor either. Public bathroom was our there and it was so cool and clean. Did I mention you can pick your own strawberries? Added bonus points. This took me back to when I was a child in Louisiana. The strawberries are so tasty and juicy. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner. He’s a sweet and gentle man. He’s my farmer crush. He drives a John Deere tractor/Hot rod. If your in the area, stop by. This is a great experience for adults and children.

Just checked out the the Farm Stead. Vegetables were over ripe and wilted. It was great when it was located in the barn and they had the mister to keep things fresh. They also had more items to choose from. It has gone down hill when the previous people ran the place.

This place was our first stop on our trip up the coast. It’s a farm store with cute, rustic décor/touches. I loved the giant chalkboard«menu». We stopped in and grabbed a basket of the reddest and sweetest strawberries as well as a giant homemade chocolate chip cookie. They sell a variety of produce, preserves, honey, etc. Before leaving, I fed some goats and squealed at the little piglets out back. They have a sink outside to wash off your produce and I gave our berries a rinsing there. We ate the whole little basket within minutes!

Plenty of parking, adequate shade(but not a lot), easy on and off the freeway, feeding goats a lot of fun, picking berries great, on-your-honor payment, small selection of already picked produce(lettuce, heirloom tomatoes, beets) and some bottled water. Cute presentation and organized.

This farm is perfect, and I’m glad we stopped here while traveling through. It is easily accessible from the 101 fwy. There is berry picking to be done and also a great little produce market in the barn with some great farm fresh produce. It would also make an incredible event space if you have something to celebrate. And I absolutely love everything that they stand for. My family will most definitely be supporting the farmstead!

You have to make this stop! I met Abel the farmer himself, super cool guy! Family did a pit stop since the kids were knocked out so they did not get to enjoy the farm animals. Got some carrots, honey, nuts, and santa Barbara’s blackbird chocolate oh yeah and ginger lemonade Will definitely make this a routine stop when driving up! Thank you Farmer Abel!

Such a charming little find! While driving down the 101 we saw a sign for it so we decided to stop. Such a lovely place to stumble upon! Amazing atmosphere and produce. Had fun petting and feeding all the different animals, picking the most beautiful and delicious strawberries I’ve ever had(and for a great price) and looking through all their other beautiful all organic products. All the workers were so nice. Will absolutely be stopping back next time we’re in town. Definitely made our day.

I stumbled on paradise today. While driving north on the 101, I saw a sign from the for Farm Stead Organic Produce and pulled off the road quickly. From the moment I saw the farm I felt like I had been transported to another world. The barns were beautiful. There were goats & llams behind a fence to greet me. I walked inside and saw the fleshiest produce I think I’ve ever seen. There was a sign with baskets saying I could cross the street and hand pick my own produce if I liked and pay when I was done. There was even a washing station for my fresh picked beets and swiss chard. The goats were begging for me to feed them. They had a bucket filled with kale to feed the animals. The goats seem to really love the kale! They have fresh eggs and olive oil, jams and nut butters. Oh, they even have a sign that says, «Electric vehicles charge free.» If you have kids and want to show them a different world, you should take them to Farm Stead Organics. I think I’ll go back tomorrow!

This is a charming farm with a wonderful barn full of organic veggies and fruits. There is also a u-pick section with some seasonal fruit and veggies. We recently went and got to pick some very sweet strawberries! I have to say the kicker for me, and I have been a customer for about three years, is the honor system at the barn. There is no cashier or employee for that matter. There is simply a box and a notepad with a pen where you write down what you bought and you then put the money in the box! I was so surprised when I first saw that… I almost felt like this was some sort of a trick and there would be some person hiding behind the barn that tackles you if you don’t put the correct amount in the box! Luckily I don’t know if they do or not because I’m honest! Oh on our last trip we got to meet the farmer Abel, he was so nice and friendly! I can’t wait to go back and this time I’ve got to get me some eggs!

Simply magical! Came by during a visit to Solvang last year and got the chance to pick raspberries and cherry tomatoes, we enjoyed it soo much we HAD to come back during our visit this year. When we last came we were told that the owner’s son was taking over the business and I’m glad he’s kept it what it always was. Not only do they have a seasonal opportunity to pick some fresh, organic, fruits or veggies but they also have some animals to feed with some leftover greens which was an awesome experience! Also, if you’re looking to grab a few more fruits/veggies they usually have a nice variety in the shed where you pay that are ready to go as well as some farm fresh eggs. They take cash or check and have recently incorporated the ability to pay with paypal. It is based on an honor system so please honor it! Take some time out of your busy life to relax and enjoy the air outside and some organic fruits and veggies.
