Reasonable portions for a higher than expected price. Chicken verde enchilada Expected a massive plate piled with refried beans and rice but was pleasantly surprises at the very reasonable portion. I don’t need all those fillers. The dining room was nothing special, the service fine and the food ok. This is a solid 3 and good place to swing in and take a load off.

Too pricey for the enchiladas. Guacamole was fresh and tasty. Street Tacos were decent. Service was great… Very attentive and sincere.

Came here the other day and got an Asada Burrito and I wasn’t very impressed. It wasn’t anything special and was as basic of a burrito as you’re going to get. The salsa was also not all that. One of them was very bland and weird tasting and the other was decent enough. I think for me this is a hit it and quit it restaurant due to the blatant taste of the burrito. It also took a good 15 minutes to make even though I was the only customer there at the time. But hey, we all got our opinions, don’t let my review stop you from trying this place out. You might love it, who knows!

Food is amazing! Great service! We had cheese enchiladas and steak fajitas! Hand made tortillas made the meal that much better! The food tasted home made… Rice and beans especially. Fried ice cream was the desert of choice. Great place we happened to stumble upon while vacationing in SB!

I wanted so badly to like this place. Alas, I did not. There are so many other Mexican restaurants in Santa Barbara/Goleta that are so much better. Here’s the breakdown: Food: Boyfriend ordered the fajitas– he was very disappointed the meat was completely overcooked. I ordered the tacos: the adobada, chicken, and carnitas. All were so awful. They were incredibly dry and the meat was tough. I had to pour salsa all over them in order to choke them down. Great salsa! I will give them that. No liquor license, so they can only sell beer and wine. They have a wine margarita, but that sounded terrifying. I’ll stick to my margaritas with tequila. Atmosphere: Meh. Not very exciting. Service: Good. No issues here. Prices: No complaints here. They were reasonable. They have a 2 for 1 Axxess deal, which is nice.

The chips and salsa are okay, not great. The tacos were also okay(I prefer Lilly’s Tacos). It seems like people really like this place, I don’t really get it. Service was fine, the tacos tasted dry and unflavorful. I might could see coming here in a pinch, but I recommend driving into SB to Lilly’s.

When good Mexican food is dime a dozen in Santa Barbara, Los Tarascos stands out for its exciting flavors and delightful service. I came into the Goleta location for a Friday date night with my partner and was immediately met with a very nice waiter. We had chips and salsa while we had our separate glasses of wine. The waiter introduced the idea of their hot or spicier salsa, so we asked them for some of that. My girlfriend had a veggie option, but I had some nice enchiladas. While Los Agaves may be the in vogue restaurant these days, don’t shy away for a different restaurant that has service, rather than the fast-ordering of the cashier.

Just had a lunch here. Nice hole in the wall atmosphere and pretty attentive service. They give generous portions and meals cost around $ 7, in addition to the awesome free chips and salsa. The food was decent but their beef is quite dry. They asked us if we wanted guacamole with our chips and of course we said yes and ended up getting 2. Then we saw a $ 10 charge for guac on our check. wat.

The food was delicious, we started off with fresh homemade guacamole and chips. I had the chile verde plate, and my partner had the chicken enchiladas. Both of our plates were more than satisfying: taste and portion! We had aguas jamaica and orchata, which were both very very good. For dessert we had flan, which was also delicious. To top off our meal, the service was marvelous. Best Mexican restaurant in Santa Barbara/Goleta. I’m definitely coming back.

This place is dope. Mad low-key and chill just like the city it’s in! The servers are pretty nice. The food is authentic California Mex, which is as good if not better than Mexican Mex — believe me, I would know as I go to Mexico pretty often! The salsa here will blow your socks off! Very rich in flavor. For the main dish, I went with the fajita which was brought out with all the fireworks my fellow fajita fans are well aware of. They give you the option of corn or flour tortilla. I went nay on both as I’m trying my best to adhere to a Crossfit gameplan which involves paleo dieting. This spot is conveniently located near the Santa Barbara Airport so it’s a must-stop for those in the area.

One of my favorite«authentic» Mexican food stops in goleta. I say authentic because I love Paloma and Los agaves too but those places are more Americanized, Los tarascos has a very authentic flavor and doesn’t cut out any spices to please the the people looking for a bland quesadilla. I LOVE their ceviche tostadas and their secret green salsa that you have to ask for or they won’t offer it. .It’s kind of a smoked zesty salsa not chunky or overdone. Their fajitas I can also say are excellent and last but not least their flan is worth ordering desert!

Based upon these Unilocal reviews, we visited the restaurant last Saturday. We’re pleased to say that we had some of the best mexican food we have eaten lately. I had the Chili Colorado and my wife two tacos. Both followed up by sharing a flan. Discussion with the owner and one of his staff, disclosed they were from Pátzcuaro, Michoacán, Mexico, a city where 8 years ago we spent a wonderful painting vacation. Great memories. Great food. Good company. When we first got there about 6:00 pm., the place was empty. When we left about 7:00 pm., almost every table was filled with a wide mixture of people from families to couples. We noticed a lot of take out being served.

Great restaurant! To be honest, it looks kind of shabby and unimpressive from the outside, but the interior decorations are great and the food is unbelievable! Staff is courteous, food is amazing. Would visit again.

On another visit for lunch this time had the carnitas torta, and lunch companion had the chipotle chicken torta. Both were a heavenly mix if ingredients. Meat on both was tender and moist. Nice use if condiments on the sandwich, and the pressed sandwich bun was a fantastic element. And again those free chips. What can I say, I’m a sucker for good tortilla chips and salsa.

I came here after finding out that a certain other taco restaurant was closed and I wasn’t disappointed! The staff is amazing, they care about the customers and are very attentive and they give great suggestions based on what you’re feeling that day. The enchiladas are amazing, the tacos are really good and if they ask if you want their special or homemade quac you have to say YES because it’s delicious! Their tortilla chips are perfectly crisp and not too oily. Definitely a place to try!

Definitely a must try. Things that stand out are the excellent service, cleanliness of the restaurant and the presentation of the food. I have visited here about 5 times and was pleased with my meal 4⁄5 times. Tacos are exceptional. Especially the adobada. Way better than Lilly’s and about the same price(4 tacos for $ 6.50) But I love the service. They are always happy to serve, with a huge smile and if I order to go they include napkins, chips, and 3 different salsas.

My family and I stopped by Los Tarascos while we were on a mini-day/road trip. Thank you Unilocal!!!(and thank you mom for being flexible, and giving the thumbs up for Mexican!) We walked in, and it was fairly quiet. Décor is a little quirky, and I remember that the menus were printed on regular copier paper – which amused me. We sat down to order, and had some chips and salsa – which my parents were, for some reason, obsessed with. Great, friendly service. We ordered a total of five dishes, and true to my family’s style, shared lots of it. Of the five dishes that we ordered, the burrito marinero was the star!
