LOLTODAY I GOTPULLEDOUTSIDEANDSCOLDEDBYTHEOWNER! Warning: this is a story cut short(I cut out some of the dialogue lol) and it’s still long. Apparently, owner lady has been harboring resentment for some time now. A month ago I called in at 7:30 am; not knowing they were closed because her times were so inconsistent; and owner lady answered the phone. She took my order and said come after 8. Well… See I had a meeting at 8, once I recalled that at work, I figured I’ll pick up my food at 9 and heat up my food & all will be fine This was a phone conference I couldn’t call to warn. So that’s what I did, I picked up my food as soon as my meeting was over. fast forward to today lol… She called my name out –she knows my name? say whuuut… ahhh… She reads her reviews :) she pulled me outside to stand in the middle of other customers including some of my colleagues, and very sternly accused me of not going that day to pick up my order and that I needed to leave my number so she can call me back. Lol! We went back And forth it was hysterical! «YOUDIDN’T PICKUPYOURFOOD» «Umm… Yes I did» «NOYOUDIDN’T» «LOL yes I did» «NOYOUDIDN’T» I let her know her staff(which has always been friendly to me btw) always asks for my number, when I call in, and that time when she answered SHE forgot to ask for it that particular time… Is it the customer’s responsibility to tell her how to do her job and remind her to take my number? Apparently so! You know I’ve read the reviews here about how nutty she is, how she yells at her staff and is just plain rude but this place is so convenient to work so she’s tolerated by many. Yes… She has a rep here with us. Everyone that goes knows it. Shoot I knew it but again, I tolerated it. Personally, she was rude to me once before on the phone and I just brushed it off, I mean, I’ve seen her be a a nice lady– in a funny way — Once she came out of the kitchen and said«guess what number I’m thinking and you get a free cookie!» We thought that was cute… And weird. Like she’s used to working with children. Shoot when she was scolding me I had a flashback to my 6th grade PE teacher wagging her finger at me for not having a Doctor’s note re: having the flu and making me run the mile anyways… LOLOMG… Maybe she IS my PE teacher… All grown up now! Miss boss lady, I know you read your reviews. So here’s a message to you: Treat your customers with respect, don’t embarrass them, they keep your business running. Imagine if every restaurant scolded their customers for not picking up on time? Shoot if I had a dollar for every time I’ve been scolded instead of thanked for my business… I’d have one dollar! A stern scold and accusing a customer of something untrue, never a good idea. Personally if that was me I would have made a remark that day like«oh there you are! Wasn’t sure if you were coming! To let me know how you were feeling, Instead of giving me my food that day and then a month later scolding me like a child. I was told by my colleagues that watched the thing go down that I looked like the student being scolded by a teacher, and that’s exactly how I felt. They were surprised that I handled your accusations so well and that I didn’t raise my voice back(quite honestly I was surprised at myself too). That day so very long ago you answered my call and took my order. Maybe next time you can either not answer, or ask your customer to call back during business hours. That day you have been thinking about for oh so long, would have been different. I would have called in at 9 and had been there in 10 minutes and all would have been fine. Also, be nice to your staff, they work so hard and they make up for your rudeness. Your reviews talk about how people feel sorry for your nice employees and that you are a nut job. Today you have proved them right! I personally have decided I won’t be coming to Good Land –More like Cuckoo Land– anymore… I’ve been told by my colleagues they’ll still go and see what nutty thing you do next… I’m sure it won’t take long! Well that was long review… Anyways… So long Felicia.

Been here couple of times, but got very rude customer service by a guy who has ear buttons, I tip him well, so not sure what his problem is. The lady there was super friendly though. Their coffee is good, the breakfast wrap was very small, the pastries are not good,

I ended up getting the breakfast wrap which it tasted really good with some help of the salsa. I would go back to try another item it was a quick small meal for a good price.

Unfortunately, the quality at Goodland Kitchen just keeps going down. I came here close to 11:30, and the special of the day and side dishes were not ready to be served. This place only open to 2:30PM and they were not ready for lunch at 11:30AM. I waited a while for the chicken souvlaki and it turned out pretty disappointing. The chicken didn’t have much seasoning besides salt, and some of the pieces were too charred, probably from the rush to get the chicken cooked. There were about 3 pieces of small chicken for a $ 10 sandwich. The yogurt sauce was skimpy, but the vegetables were at least fresh. South Coast Deli and 3 Pickles are not too far away and have tastier sandwiches with more organized service.

Bottom Line: Not bad, just not good… As promised I gave this place a third try. I had heard amazing things about their Tuesday BLAT with a fried egg so I had to go for that. Plus this day I was hungry — a nice big BLAT was going to hit the spot. I showed up and asked for one with the egg and paid the $ 11(!) for this legendary BLAT(E) and sat down and read my book. When it came out I have to admit, I was a little disappointed. It was tiny — and honestly if I order an $ 11 sandwich when its comes out my brain should be going: «YEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH — THATS what I’m talkin about!!» — not — «hmmmmmm» — insert disappointment meme here or sadface(not quote facepalm) So I dug in and it wasnt bad at all but just like the other things that I have had here, it wasn’t special at all. One or two slices of tomato, a little bit of avo, a few pieces of bacon. So there was one or two really good bites in the middle then the rest of the sandwich was bread. This was a $ 7 sandwich — tops. and I just had my co worker order me some fries from Habit as Im still a little hungry(Im not having a wildly healthy day today, I suppose… insert another sadface) This place certainly isnt bad. The service I have had here has always been pretty good so I think they’ve earned better than two stars but if I’m honest it’s really not that far off.

I come regularly for breakfast. The croissant sandwich is great and pretty darn addicting. I always have thought the breakfast wraps were a good deal for days I couldn’t catch breakfast at home. It pains me to say this, but something has changed. I constantly recommend this place to friends and coworkers and after two of them complained to me I brushed it off. After a couple recent visits, I have to agree with them. The breakfast wrap portions have decreased significantly. They are half the size and they even give you less of the awesome salsa. I am not sure if it has just been a couple of mess ups on their end the past weeks, but everything seems smaller. I will have to put a pause on my breakfast purchases for the time being… which makes me sad. This place still has a special place in my belly haha. I hope things change back.

Oh, Averageland… where the motto is «count on us… sometimes?» It’s really close to my office so my coworkers and I come here 3 – 4 mornings a week for coffee. It’s a convenience thing rather than enjoyability. Sometimes we order the breakfast burrito(Omnivore Dilemma) which has mysteriously gotten smaller over time while the price hasn’t changed. Huh. Strange. The staff is on a continuous rotation. We really liked Ashley, who knew all of us by name. Sadly she doesn’t work there anymore. I’ve stopped going this week. It’s gone downhill in service and quality. We have now started driving over the freeway to Starbucks. I would love to support local businesses but… Goodland Kitchen has officially lost my business.

On the expensive side, but they have fresh ingredients, good specials and take care of their regulars. Lots of healthy options as well

I love the Goodland Kitchen! I had the Magnolia sandwich! It was delicious! I also had a side pasta salad. All their ingredients are fresh and tasty! I love especially loved their hummus and the local feel of this restaurant. They also have Chinese dishes mid-week through the weekend. I can’t wait to try it!

Holy cow has this place gone downhill. The girls they have working now have absolutely no clue how to make coffee(watered down iced drinks have crap floating in them and maybe a piece of ice or two floating around, and now in paper cups??), they burn bagels, and generally sound clueless anytime I’m at the register for really simple orders. The prices raise, the quality lowers, their employees(who are replaced on what seems like an every-other-week basis) seem to have no experience or training. I don’t get how anyone bothers to go here anymore with how overpriced and sub-par it is.

I stopped by right as they were closing. I almost expected them to turn me away as they were cleaning up and stacking chairs. Quite the opposite. «Please come in.» I purchased the Raza… only because I watch Dark Matter. Wow… great treat. Love the roasted carrots and humus. 3.5 stars for the food, 4.5 for the hospitality, a solid 4 stars. Looking forward to a sandwich.

I would have given this place 5 stars. Good food, decent spot, girls at the counter were great. The reason I knocked it down is because of the manager or owner or whoever that lady with the short grey curly hair is. When I was in there she was so genuinely mean to her employees that I could literally see it in their eyes. I was absolutely disgusted with the way she treated those poor girls. She was yelling at them for this and that, and them when they’d try to talk to her she’d yell at them again to do it out of sight of customers. Everyone in the café noticed. That manager needs to be REPLACED– hopefully she’s not the owner!

I was excited to come here as I’d heard it was a good place. However, to my disappointment, my evidently pre-prepared wrap was cold on the inside, and my cappuccino(which took more than 10 minutes to make) resembled a latte. I am not particularly snobbish about my coffee… but I mean… I ordered a cappuccino. This drink had less than a tablespoon of foam on it. I didn’t want to wait another ten minutes for them to make it again, so I left.

I LOVE this place! It has really yummy healthy organic food. I have no problems with the staff, they have always been super friendly and nice. Yes it is a hard area to find parking in! But it is well worth it once you do. I always go early to avoid the lines. It is my favorite place to eat in Santa Barbara.

I have no idea what is happening to this place… but it seems that they have a real lack of leadership since my last visit. It went from stellar service to sub-par! The owner seems completely out of sync with fixing her customer service issues. I had written a great review a few months back, but after stopping in this week, I felt I needed to update. The food is really good. There is no doubt there! Tasty, fresh and made with thought. Kudos to the kitchen staff who prepares the food. Sadly though, as others have mentioned, without great, friendly, consistent customer service… it isn’t worth the hassle or the price! You can get good food in many spots throughout town these days. If your not going to back your fantastic food up with equally fantastic customer service, then why bother? Sage and Onion has better parking, friendly and helpful counter service, and equally as tasty of food. No brainer to me…

So nice to have another place that has a healthy clean menu besides Natural Café. Had the daily salad plate which was good. Must mention that the late 20’s year old girl with light brown/blond hair, manning the front desk, taking and fulfilling orders was not friendly at all. She acted«put out» by my friend and I asking questions about menu items(our first visit). She actually rolled her eyes at me when I asked for decaf coffee since she had to make it. The last straw was when she ran her hands through the hair of a fellow male employee very«flirty like» and then proceeded to fulfill the next food order without washing her hands. Icky! Someone needs to educate this girl on cleanly customer service. I will most like visit this establishment again because their menu is great and I’d like to try more items but this girl made my first visit not so pleasant.

After walking a block and a half… they have no parking in an area swollen with auto maintenance shops so you know there’s definitely no parking… I stood waiting to order for 5 minutes. I was not acknowledged but eye contact was made several times. I have no idea what the heck was going on and I didn’t see any reason why I couldn’t have ordered. So I left. I give up on this establishment.

The only reason I visit this place is because of the proximity of my office. The food is very average, but it is priced exorbitantly. A sandwich and soda(small portions) will set you back at least 10 – 12 bucks. They also seem to have supply issues. They were out of bagels today, so that threw half the breakfast menu out the window. Rather than offering an alternative option, the clerk just seemed lost. When a pastry is $ 3+, breakfast burritos are 7+, etc. I can’t justify these crazy prices for a lackluster product. Update: I decided to give them another chance. I went for an iced mocha, as this is the closest place that serves espresso drinks to the office. They were out of mocha powder… Seems to be a common theme of missing products.
