Delicious! Quality meat and fresh vegetables. Great menu selection. Very clean establishment with friendly and professional staff. One of our top three places for a wonderful meal in Goldsboro. Highly recommend!

After reading reviews we went to Los Fogones for dinner with wife and daughter. We had never had Peruvian food. Getting out of the car you can smell the charcoal and food cooking. Had ceviche, chicharrone, lump fried crab as appetizers. Approx $ 10 per appetizer. Then had the paradillo platter for 3 for $ 37. Ribeye, half rack of ribs, half chicken, chorizo sausage and chicken brochettes, 3 sides and 3 sauces. All the food was fabulous!!! The spicy sauce was a nice compliment to sweet potatoe fries and yucca fries. Servers were great and always around and chef came by table to check on us. Too much food! Didn’t need appetizer as couldn’t finish the chicken. Had 2 beers each and bill was $ 91. Highly recommend this place.

Food wasn’t that great. Weird that this place has so many great reviews, my hubby and I ordered all the things suggested and we didn’t like one thing at all. The chicken sandwich was super mayo-y and bready. The yucca fries were soggy and not tasty. Definitely not worth going back.

The best food in Goldsboro! Hands down. No competition. Like all other reviewers have noted, the chicken and ribs are highly recommended. Fall off the bone ribs and just the right amount of seasoning. The sauces are not as spicy as I would like but still very good. Friendly service but they can be slow… I like to think it’s because they are making the food fresh and with love :) Definitely order the Tres Leches cake for dessert… you can’t go wrong!

This place is either closed for good or being remodeled. It hasn’t been open for at least the past 3 months since I moved to Goldsboro. There was a small hand written sign near the door but I never pulled up close enough to read it. Maybe something good will open soon

We had a great time here! I read up on the previous reviews so I could be well informed on what was the absolute BEST stuff to order! We ordered an assortment of ribs, chicken sandwiches, seafood salads, and numerous sides of yucca fries. If you could define yum, this dinner would be in the Oxford dictionary definition! Everyone was right when they said the ribs are fall-off-the-bone deliciousness! Absolutely fork tender. All I had to do was use the back of the fork, and the bones came clean out! The roasted chicken sandwich was splendid, and the yucca fries are definitely an interesting take/escape from the normal French fries! Afterwards, the owner came by a few times to check on us and the food. He was extremely nice and welcoming, and showed pride in his food. From explaining how he smokes his ribs to what a yucca is, he was extremely pleasant to talk to! Besides the occasional hammer sounds from outside(they are currently involved in some minor expansion projects), and the quaint but clean décor, there really is nothing negative to critique on! You really have to look for this place once off of base, but it is DEFINITELY worth coming to again and again, because I know we all will! Service: 9/10, Cleanliness: 8/10, Food: 10⁄10

After waiting for 50 minutes after placing our order and having someone come by twice during that extremely long wait time. It wasn’t until I was ready to walk out and went to the counter to get told why our food was taking so long. The food was good, wasn’t outstanding. My wife had the Peruvian fried rice which was apparently one of their better dishes, but having just came back from Japan I’ve had plenty of fried rice and this was undercooked and had little flavor. I started this review while waiting for whoever to pick up our check, it’s been 5 minutes and there are currently 2 tables with 5 people each who where there since we’ve been here. I demoted this from three to one since starting and thinking about how horrible the service had been.

This place is just really good food. A nice change of scenery from the typical Goldsboro scene. The food is always cooked perfectly and with plenty of flavor. I highly recommend getting the platter for 2 if it’s your first time there. It allows you to try 4 – 5 different meats along with all their yummy sauces and sides. The service is average at best and hit or miss but the food more than makes up for the lack of service or atmosphere. They have decent lunch specials but expect 45 – 55 minutes if you were eating in. Definitely give this place a try it’s worth the detour near base.

Outstanding BBQ and chicken sandwiches. Their Peruvian fried rice is great, too. A must place to eat while in Goldsboro.

Food was DELICIOUS. The chicken was moist and flavorful. The ribs fell off the bone, literally, I deboned it by just picking the bone up with my fingers. All the sides were quite tasty too. We were there at 5pm on a Tuesday, so the place was dead, but I’ve got to believe they get a solid lunch crowd in. A few customers came in to pick up their carry out. I held off one star because the building could use a little TLC. I had to wear my jacket to go into the bathroom.

I like to order their rotisserie chicken/ribs combo. Decent sized portion of food for the price and it has a good flavor. I have tried the pulled pork sandwich and yucca fries but wasn’t much of a fan of either of them.

Update, dropping my rating from five to four stars: My boyfriend and I came back this time, eager to devour the Family platter for 4 on our own lol. Unfortunately, my little problem was that I don’t eat beef, and since the platter comes chock full with all kinds of meat, we hoped they’d give us a little more lamb or chorizo sausage instead of the slice of steak that normally comes with the platter. We decided on lamb because there wasn’t much of it in the original platter to begin with… we figured it’d be a fair trade. Unfortunately, the owners refused our request, and instead said they could only give us more chicken. But why would we want more chicken when the platter already comes with ½ a chicken? This really dampened our spirits. We ended up ordering some BBQ ribs, but they were dry and flavourless, unlike they yummy ones we had eaten in the Family style platter. However, we did get their Peruvian fried rice, which was amazingly good, and chock-full of rotisserie chicken, so that was a saving grace.

I have since given this place another shot… It’s actually quite wonderful. Once you get past the outdated feel(sorry, just have to be honest. It does grow on you though), the food actually is really good. And the TEA… Delicious! Get the chicken sandwich on the lunch menu, or the quarter chicken, and definitely get the yucca fries. Will definitely come back for lunch. Really good service here, very friendly and attentive servers.

Feels like a home away from home kind of place~ The ambience of this place is a bit country– but in a folksy/cozy kind of way! The food is delicious. If you have a large group, it takes a while for the food to come out but that’s okay because I could tell it was all for the sake of making a quality meal. But then again, quantity was forgotten here either! Very generous portions. I got a half rack of the BBQ ribs with yucca fries and sweet potato fries. That«half rack» was no half rack… when my entrée came out, I thought they accidentally brought me a whole rack! Nope, it seems like they just want us to leave having food babies haha The Peruvian fried rice is surprisingly top-notch. Very flavorful rice with lots of meat inside, yum~ I typically wouldn’t even think about ordering fried rice at a Peruvian restaurant, but I would totally recommend it here! On a side note, this has always been the case for me and will remain the same here: choose NC style sweet potato fries over yucca fries Their yucca fries weren’t all that crispy… they were rather heavy and bland. Tip: try their sauces! You don’t get that kind of flavor anywhere! Each entrée comes with two– they have a mild one and a spicier one so take your pick. Everyone’s friendly here– it’s a homey place! Service might not be the quickest but I’d choose this place over any of the chain restaurants that occupy goldsboro :)

We went out of our way to eat here on our way back from Georgia to Maryland but I was disappointed but the quality that we were served. We ordered scallops and crab stuffed yucas for appetizers which was very tasty. For the main course, I had the half rotisserie chicken with rice and fries. The chicken was tasty but dry. I believe we were served day-old chicken which did not help. The green sauce that came with the chicken was very good(which made the dry chicken not so bad). On the flavor scale, I would give them a 4 out of 5. I’ve had fresh peruvian rotisserie chicken many times before and it really makes a difference.

In a town slap full of chains I was happy to find this place. I’ve been coming to Goldsboro on business for many years and am not sure how I’ve missed it. Peruvian Food? What the heck is that? Well I can say this they have some awesome chicken and ribs in Peru if this is representative of authentic. I had the ¼ chicken and half rack of ribs combo and couldn’t stop eating! The ribs were tender, and falling off the bone… obviously slow cooked and basted with a tangy and sweet sauce. The chicken was smokey, you know? Like it had been grilled over hardwood and was moist and delicious. I’ll definitely be back. Oh, BTW it was cheap I paid $ 15.99 for everything with a drink. The service was horrible the night I went but there were 2VERYLARGE groups of people there each table had at least 20 people and I was by myself so I forgive them for that and hope that when I return it will be better.

An appetizer of scallops(with Parmesan, I believe) will match up quite well with the shrimp I just got at La Paz!
