Was surprised to learn that lunch was just a buffet. However the food was very good and fresh so can’t complain about the buffet. I’d go again.

We love, love, love the Sherpa House! Especially in the summer time when we can eat on their wonderful patio! Highly recommended.

I am not sure words suffice for Sherpa House. It is amazing, simply put. Nothing I say will do this place justice. It is that good. It has a wonderful atmosphere inside and outside. Although, my friend and I sat inside because there was a wait for the patio… and very glad we did. The entire house is decorated as a traditional sherpa house would be… hence the name. There are amazing pictures and decorations if you just take the time to walk around and look. A backpack from an American Everest expedition, a massive Yeti in the corner, climbing tools, Tenzing Norgay’s son’s Everest picture autographed, prayer wheels, Nepal photography, etc. As for the food I had the House Sampler…(Tandoori Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Curry, Chana Masala, Daal Soup, Naan, rice and a Gulab Jamun). My recommendation to those who have tried Indian/Nepalese food is to get the sampler… it is WOW. To this who are VERY picky… get the Tandoori Chicken. Go, don’t be in a rush, take it all in, enjoy every bit. It is a unique place with great food that deserves appreciation from all its customers.

One of the best eateries in Golden. I took my now wife here for dinner before I proposed. Fair prices, excellent food, and honestly a very nice environment especially if you can get a table outside during the summer months. Get the adult Chai Tea it is awesome and lunch buffet is an added bonus.

After wanting to go here for some time, we went here for the first time yesterday! We ate during dinner time and ordered the vegetarian momo dumpling appetizer and vegetarian sampler platter — both were very delicious! We received complementary naan with our dinner as well! To drink, I had their house beer which was also very good!(sensing a theme here?) We were seated outside on the courtyard/patio which was very peaceful and beautiful. It reminded me of an awesome restaurant in the Florida Keys. I would definitely recommend that you try this restaurant and we will definitely be back to try more!

The Sherpa House has a great authentic interior and their new outside patio is to die for. Sitting outside on a warm summer night is just awesome. Their food is good and their service is also top notch.

Fantastic setting, very comfortable and beautiful outdoor seating area has tables shaded by umbrellas. The food was terrific and hit the spot. Your typical Indian food buffet style, but the setting makes for a much more enjoyable meal than most any other Indian restaurant I’ve visited.

Okay food, like most«ethnic’ food in the suburbs of Denver, it’s very generic and tastes like its been sitting all day under a heat lamp. It is reasonably priced and the patio is way awesome on a hot summer evening though. The«house brewed» beer is brewed by Golden City Brewery and relabled, so they have that going for them, I geuss…

5 Stars. This place was amazing. The food, décor, and the staff. This is what happens when you love what you do. I love this place and will be back again and again. I got the yak chowmein, chicken momos, garlic naan, and a mango lassi. Nothing was less than great!

A friend and I are preparing to trek Nepal this upcoming November, and I have been worried about the food. I love, love, love Indian food but I didn’t see that being the option while we trek. I kept on reading about Dahl Bhat and how I should be prepared to eat lots and lots of it. My friend found a groupon and we headed over last night. I could smell the amazing spices being used and I badly wanted to order my regular Indian dish as I peered at all the other tables. I did not. I stayed true to trying Dahl Bhat with an appetizer of samosas first(what? I LOVE Indian food). We split the dish of chicken Dahl Bhat and I am so glad that we did. With an appetizer and splitting of one dish, we still had plenty to take home and walked out stuffed! The Dahl Bhat was amazing! Everything was amazing. So many spices, so many flavors, and everything was amazing. The staff was great, even when my friend had to ask how to eat the dishes correctly. We enjoyed the atmosphere and pointed out everything. Overall, this place put a little at ease about eating Dahl Bhat every day in November and was a great experience!

My boo and I traveled west to Golden to have their buffet lunch with a Groupon. I could eat here every single day! The food is very yummy(tried almost everything!) and the environment feels casual and authentic. I enjoyed that they had an external frame backpack hanging on the wall which was used in an Everest Climb in the 80s. I will certainly be back when I’m in town. By the way, the stout beer they had on tap was delicious!

A MUSTGOTOIFYOUAREPASSINGTHROUGHGOLDEN!!! Genuine high quality reasonably priced Nepalese food with great service that makes for a fun experience!!! Their great ethnic food menu has marvelous descriptions of their diverse food. Try the Sampler Plater. Try the non-alcoholic cold fruit drinks. We’ll keep going back and work our way through the menu.

Love Sherpa House for both the authentic lunch buffet and their extensive dinner menu. The house itself is like a mini museum, and their outdoor patio is great for dining in warmer weather. Everything I’ve tried has been very flavorful and they will accommodate any spice level you’d like. Also a nice place to take out of town guests for a unique dining experience.

We went for the buffet and it was good! Maybe not the best, but really good. Plenty of choices. I was only missing the yogurt sauce that I love to put with my rice and sauces. We would definitely go back. We may try some other restaurants that are similar just to compare first.

Awesome food and service. Add a lovely place to that then it’s a formidable business model that should be copied. I’ve been here at least four times. Brought people with me and they come out admiring the place as well. I’ve tried more than a few of their dishes. The yak soup or anything yak is a must for first timers. It’s a staple on their dinner table in real life. So you must eat like they do. I’ve tried their curry dishes as well. I can tell you anything they cook and serve here is amazing! Look at my pics! The Sherpa combo chowmein with yak meat is so delicious. Their fried pork momo is one of my favorites! As inviting as the front is when you walk in pls be careful. It’s pretty slippery with ice covered steps. Serene setting will welcome you and some smattering of histories here and some artifacts tucked in some wall. A big bell in front says you are entering a different world. :)

Beautiful atmosphere and delicious selection of foods. I’ve only had the lunch buffet but the food is amazing. Great Tandoori Chicken, Tikka Masala, Lamb Stew, Naan & and rice pudding for that sweet dessert… at only $ 9.99 it’s a steal for lunch.

I have been to Sherpa House several times over the past few years and I’ve always been pleased with the experience. Located in an old house on the periphery of downtown Golden it is easy to miss, but well worth the experience once you find it. When I go for dinner I always get the Thukpa. This soup has that great depth of flavor and spice one expects from south Asian cuisine. Most recently, I went for their lunch buffet. The food was tasty and the buffet well-maintained. I’d recommend some of the spicy yak stew. While the food will always be my primary reason for going, Sherpa House also has an excellent atmosphere. They have artifacts within the building and a beautiful patio for dining on summer evenings. The service is always excellent and the prices reasonable. I will continue to be a patron of Sherpa House and I recommend you become one as well.

My review for the Sherpa House doesn’t have to be long. Excellent, Excellent, Excellent! From the food to the staff to the house itself it is definitely a place everyone should come at least once. It is open on Sunday at 11AM for lunch. Prices are very inexpensive and you won’t be disappointed. The location and surrounding area is beautiful and very calming.

This was the cutest little place ever! It’s conveniently located right next to the Colorado School of Mines so a lot of students frequent this restaurant. The outside looks like someone’s house but there’s cultural histories overflowing from every corner of this restaurant. When I got here around 7:30pm, the wait time was around 20 minutes. They had both inside and outside seating. Because it was a hot day, the inside felt very stuffy so I decided to sit outside. However, it soon got really chilly outside and there weren’t any heat lamps so I decided to move inside. The waiter was very accommodating to my needs and quickly seated us inside. The decoration in this restaurant is phenomenal. There were paintings everywhere of the culture. It was a mix of eating good food and learning about the country. They even had a yeti statue which is basically an Abominable Snowman. The garden we sat in was so beautiful as well! There were fairy lights strung across the ceiling and the atmosphere was very relaxed. It would be the perfect place to eat on a summer day. Now let’s talk about the food. We ordered a combination chow mein which included chicken and veggies and yak. I had never tried yak before but was pleasantly surprised that it tasted pretty good! It resembles beef but the texture isn’t too tough and it complemented all the other ingredients well. I ordered medium spicy which was perfect. We also got the lamb curry with rice and garlic naan. I forgot how much I loved indian food. There aren’t many places in Denver that I have tried and thoroughly enjoyed the curry. This is definitely an exception. The flavor was so rich and the spice combination was perfecto. I also appreciated that the naan wasn’t too oily which tends to be the case at other Indian restaurants. It was overall an amazing atmosphere, an interesting cultural experience, and wonderful food. 5 stars well earned!
