We decided to try our hand fishing here a few weeks ago and bad puns aside, we were hooked. The rangers who work here are so nice and they genuinely seem to enjoy being there. It’s a $ 5 fee for one vehicle to get in. I’m not sure about the other fees(going in on foot, boats, etc). There’s a large parking area with decently maintained porta-potties nearby. There’s a particular spot where we like to set up. We were told that it was a «sweet spot» and it really is. We’ve caught some decent sized trout there, and also our first small mouth bass. The kids enjoy running around in the area and have a good time. We enjoy the views and the fact that there isn’t a lot of stuff built up around here. The only downsides to the Arvada Reservoir is that they don’t allow dogs, and there’s no swimming or wading of any kind. Those aren’t deal-breakers for us, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit back!
