Great wings? Check. Good burgers? Check. Great drink prices? Check. Local bar ambience? Check, check, and check. Really, the only thing not to love about this place is the service. They may be understaffed, so the one waitress on a Wednesday night was overwhelmed. Her lack of friendliness would have been fine with us if we could get what we needed in a timely manner. It took us 2 hours to have a wings and burgers dinner. Much of that time was waiting for our server, trying to get her attention, or just wandering over to the bar to try to get service there. We were with our kids, who come here often, and say the service is always like that. Some other points to raise where my experience was different from other reviewers: Schuller’s is not windowless nowadays — it’s very window-full. My burger was not overcooked; it was a perfect medium rare. The chicken wings are substantial, and you can choose two sauces with them. My husband was delighted and just had wings for dinner. Overall, a good deal, if you have the time to hang out and wait for service.

When I got there I felt like I was unwanted and like I did something wrong to the people at the bar and to the bartender. The bartender looked at us like take your beer and get out of my town. I will not go back to that place ever again. I’m all about the dive bars because of the friendly atmosphere compared to a chain bar/restaurant but apparently schullers doesn’t need my money.

Honestly this place deserves no stars. Or a review, just wasting my time. But I figured I’d give a review so some people are aware before they make the decision to come here. Firstly, it’s not a diverse place. décor is very old, vibe is very awkward… Service is rude, unprofessional, just dirty. Don’t waste your time. Save your money for somewhere better.

Typical dive bar, but w/a bad attitude. They sponsored our hockey team a few years back, but we stopped going after a while because they always seemed to act as if it were a chore to serve us on a Sat/Sun night, and it regularly took 40 minutes+ to fire up crappy, frozen pizzas.

Schuller’s is a simple(window-less) neighborhood bar that can get quite a varied after-work crowd. They have cheap happy hour deals including ½ price bottles of wine and $ 3.50 glasses of house. What truly differentiates this place from other dumpy bars is their food. The menu offers more than typical bar fare, i.e. wings, burgers and fried food, even cooking up some healthy-ish options. My favorite is the grilled chicken pita with sliced lettuce, tomatoes, juicy seasoned chicken strips, and a thick, intensely garlicky tzatziki-like sauce that makes this dish so scrumptious. If you want to liven up the atmosphere, a jukebox is available on premise. My friends select some pretty horrendous songs(i.e. «Call Me Maybe») but there’s gotta be some good options in that music box too. The service here is nothing to brag about. They do their job sans smiles. But, this is no La Belle Vie. Mediocre service passes here.

Schuller’s is the perfect destination if you are looking for an old school bar and grill. They have great burgers, fries, beer selection and a unique rotating specials menu. You can pretty much get anything your heart desires here. For example, my dad wanted a down home meatloaf dinner complete with mashed potatoes and boiled carrots, boom, he got it, and it was good. i couldn’t pass up the roast beef sandwich with horsey sauce and steak fries and my sister got a BLT. You go Schuller’s, you feed me with whatever I crave and you’re so low key about your awesomeness, I thank you.

When you’re in the Western ‘burbs but not in the mood for the scene and pretense of Bacio, Redstone or Crave but don’t feel like driving into the city for some decent dive bar action, Schuller’s steps up to the plate. Cheap bear, friendy service, okay food, pull tabs, free popcorn.
