It’s really really bad! We ate outside De Young museum, and the food was badd! the rice was cold, the curry wasn’t even warm or tasty and the naan was Soo hard to chew(bcoz it was cold) and being an Indian I know how it’s supposed to taste! It was really not upto mark! I had to throw away most of it, n I really don’t like throwing away food!

Great Food at Great Prices. I had the butter chicken which was especially delicious because it was perfectly warm on a classic cool SF day. I highly recommend this food truck. FYI it’s usually parked across from the Japanese Tea Gardens entrance.

We ordered the parhatha roll and chai. The ingredients in the parhatha roll weren’t the freshest. I came across wilted lettuce and old and watery tomatoes. It should have been obvious since our food was ready immediately after ordering. The chai was watered down and it was a surprise that it was masala chai and not regular Indian tea. I think this place has potential since it’s in a great location. They just need to provide fresher ingredients and be more specific on their menu.

I wasn’t going to eat here, because I was already railroaded by the cost for food at the Tea Garden, but I’m glad I did. The parantha fold was not expensive and tasted amazing. I like tamarind and mint chutney, so it was an easy pick. The food truck provided seats, but just hope you don’t have any rude people like the couple at the table next to us. An entitled jerk took their seats without even speaking to them. It was so bad that the jerk’s wife even asked, «did you ask them before you took their seats?» To solidify the obvious, he said, «they can stay here if they wish.»

maybe some of the worst indian food i’ve ever had. I came to their food truck at Embarcadero during the lunch hour. All of food was bland and not fresh. Both the rice and the naan were sour. I’d rather spend the $ 8 on anything else.

High quality and well made Indian food next to the museums in Golden Gate park. Bring cash because they don’t take cards. I had the Paratha Fold with Samosas and a Mango Lassi. Value was outstanding and food was wonderful. My friend has the Chicken Tiki Masala and it was s huge portion compared to most other food trucks we have eaten at. It was very busy compared to the other options in the area. After enjoying our lunch, I understand why. Diner here with confidence!

Stopped by with my wife after taking the kids to the Academy of Science. Surprisingly great chicken tikka masala. Samosa were just so-so. Awesome stop in Golden Gate Park, but it was a little pricey.

I have Indian food A LOT. Growing up my neighbor who watched me everyday after school is from India so I know Indian food… Was the very first in line for them to open up and was served very quickly. Ordered the samosas, chicken tikka Marsala and the Partha Fold for two people. Best samosas I have had out of a food truck. So delicious and warm! $ 4 for two HUGE ones with a mint chutney and I have forgotten the name of the other sauce. Highly recommend. The chicken tikka Marsala came with a piece of Nan bread, rice and small side salad. I am a big Marsala fan and this met my expectations! Could have been because it was just made but wow, rich and creamy ad full of flavor! The Nan was so good that we had to go back and get a full piece of it… and that still wasn’t enough. Now the Partha Fold was why this review is a four star. They make it look way more appetizing than it really is. Still a really good option but I would go with something else next time.

These guys do not have their act together — we must have waited 30 minutes for chana masala and chicken tikka masala. Orders were forgotten, and they frequently called out orders that didn’t correspond to anyone. No numbering system or anything. The crowd of hungry, waiting customers would fight amongst themselves for who got the next parathi fold. Two stars because the food was reasonable — just not worth the chaos.

Great food truck with terrific prices and delicious food. Although it’s just off the museums’ square in Golden Gate Park the trucks are bit hidden from the museums direction and unless you are walking on the trail to the Japanese and Botanical gardens’ direction, you wouldn’t know the trucks are in there. Once you walk around the stage you see them. It’s some kind of alternative food court with three vendors(one of which is the well known and beloved, Sam’s Chowder Mobile). The line for Annakoot is moving fast and once you grab that box with food I suggest you take yourself out of there to eat it somewhere else in the park, or in the square. We had Chicken Tika, it came with rice and small salad and was fresh, perfectly seasoned, tender and among the tastiest chicken Tika we had. We were so happy to find that truck, because in that beautiful day there was nothing better than having good food in the sun.

Stationed opposite Japanese tea garden near the bike rentals. Good vegetarian options for wraps and combos. Tried chickpea wrap and mango lassi. It works well since there are v few options inside GG park for food.

When you start looking around the park for a homeless person who needs your lunch more than you, chances are you haven’t gotten a food truck’s freshest offerings. In their defense, it was the end of the day.

We were touring Golden Gate Park on our way to the Japanese Tea Garden when we passed this Indian Food Truck. Street Meat!!! We were so excited we couldn’t wait for lunch! We weren’t disappointed! We haven’t had good street meat since Portland OR, the city with the most food trucks. This street meat exceeded our expectations! I had the chick pea potato curry with rice and salad. Greg had a chicken tandoori fold(wrap). He won!(A little game we play, who ordered the best dish). Not to say mine wasn’t also fabulous. It was fresh, fast, delicious, filling, and affordable. A must if u r in the neighborhood. Enjoy!

Folded. ReOrder’s song: Annakoot’s lunch: Paratha Fold featuring baked curry chicken with rice, lettuce, spices and chutney folded inside wheat naan. Former is one of those you’ll never forget. Latter was good while it lasted, a reasonable $ 7 and served quickly and with a smile but will soon be forgotten. Song gets five stars. Wrap gets three.

The food tastes really good considering this is a food truck. I am guilty, I’ve had this maybe 3 times in a week lol My boyfriend and I always order something different every time though. It has very good flavor. If you ask for spicy then your food won’t taste so bland, duh! If you can’t wait more than 8 minutes for your food to be ready then go to McDonalds (yes, shade to those who expect so much but pay so little too and don’t tip) Mango Lassi 3 out of 5 Pakora’s 5 out 5 Kofta 4 out of 5 Chiken Tikka 4 out of 5 Paratha Fold 4 out of 5 Chana 5 out of 5 Don’t forget to order spicy and also remember this is comfort food, don’t expect too much but don’t demand so much neither.

Great samosas and pakodas!!! Normally when there is monopoly in terms of regional food, you tend to expect average tasting food… But this place was great!!! Their samosas tasted typically like those Delhi wale samose and pakode were also the perfect taste! And not to forgot the chutney… It did not feel like those bottled or frozen ones… Very authentic tamarind and mint chutney… Highly recommended!

I stopped here after the de Young Museum and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the Pakora«Boat»(veggie fritters) for only $ 4 and they were absolutely delicious and totally filling(and I was pretty hungry). It’s a great place to grab some food and enjoy the plaza in between the museums. I’ll for sure be going back.

Who knew that samosas from a truck would be so tasty??? I think they’re the best samosas that I’ve had, to date. The chai was okay, needed more milk, and he didn’t fuss when I asked for more so that was good =) Samosa and chai combo for the win!!! The paratha wrap was kind of cold, I’d skip it =T

It’s good for what it is. When you’re hungry in golden gate park and not from the area — what do you do? Look around and see/eat the closet thing around. :) So here we are at Annakoot. It’s parked between the Botanical Garden/Japanese Tea Garden/Conservatory of flowers area… Slim Pickings, there’s a few cafes nearby and all. But this was the closest to where we were. Next to them was a HotDog cart. What we ordered– Paratha fold, which was a wrap with chicken, tamarind sauce, Basmati rice and wrapped in a fried Naan. It was pretty tasty, but a little dry. Would be nice to have something to dip it in, or maybe if it had yogurt in it? I’m not sure what it’s missing, but it was lacking something. $ 7. Curry chicken with a choice of dark or white meat. It includes a small salad two types of dressing(green/basil chutney and tamarind sauce) and Basmati rice. It looked like a small portion, but it packs a punch. $ 8 There’s a few other things that you can order, but we just wanted a light meal — split between 3 people. Cash only, suckas

We ran into the Annakoot food truck behind the Music Concourse at Golden Gate Park. Annakoot is an Indian food truck based in Berkeley. The truck is painted red and looks like it’s got a few years on it. To date, this has been my only Indian food truck experience and I enjoyed it, for the most part. One thing that’s cool about this food truck is that it has a tandoor oven on-board. A tandoor oven is a cylindrical clay oven used in Indian cuisine. Annakoot serves 10 entrees and 3 desserts. The entrees include: — Paratha fold — tandoor chicken with rice, veggie, and spices in a flatbread — Sabzi — assorted veggies cooked with spices — Chana Masala — beans and potatoes cooked with veggies and spices — Kofta — veggie balls in curry sauce — Chicken Curry — Lamb Curry — Chicken Tikka Masala — tandoor chicken with tikka masala sauce — Konkani Shrimp Curry — Samosas — Pakora«Boat» — veggie fritters Most of the entrees come with basmati rice and naan bread. All chicken used is free range. The desserts are gulab jamun(Indian doughnut balls soaked in syrup), phirni pudding(rice pudding), and mango lassi(mango yogurt drink). The entrees are $ 7 – 10 each and the desserts are $ 3 – 4 each. I tried the paratha fold($ 7) and the chicken curry($ 8). Paratha is the name of the flatbread. The paratha fold included chicken, rice, lettuce, and a combination of spices, mint, and tamarind chutneys. The paratha fold was made with whole wheat and was cooked on a griddle. It was a savory wrap and, as is common with Indian food, had good flavoring. The chicken curry consisted of boneless chunks of chicken cooked in a curry sauce with garlic, ginger, and spices. Though the menu did not mention it, it also came with a small side salad topped with mint and tamarind chutneys. Together with the soft basmati rice and the naan bread, it hit the spot. Overall, I think Annakoot is somewhere between 3 and 4 stars. I think some of the ingredients could have been fresher, particularly the lettuce. Other than that, I enjoyed the food and would try them again.
