This place is a gem for Gloucester. Being a local we enjoy going now and then, and good news is they’re renovating the place. Enclosing the existing porch but maintaining the deck seating in the rear. One of the last times we enjoyed their eclectic food we ordered wings for an appetizer. I was pleasantly surprised with their smokiness and their several different sauces. We liked them all. Haven’t experienced their lunchtime offerings but sure it’s just as great as din-din

We LOVED80 cent wing night out pre teen loved the naked wings over the chicken tenders she got so I had them in a salad the next day! Hope you get celery really soon! We also have the Cuban! SO good!

My bf and I both had burgers, the Jamestown and the bacon cheddar, both on pretzel buns. They were so huge, juicy, and we didn’t even need to add a sauce. We shared a root beer float which was great too, even tho they had to serve it with butter pecan instead of vanilla. Definitely coming back!

I ordered the special. It was a roast beef sandwich with au juice, cheddar & grilled onions. It was very good but a little grisly. The French onion soup was excellent. Nice atmosphere and good lunch crowd.

Just had the best burger-the Mulligan, and my husband had the Yorktown burger. It was expertly crafted, juicy, and full of flavor. We both agreed that this will be our new go-to place for burgers. Even though the place was packed, service was terrific. We could see the other orders of ribs, fish and chips, wings, and subs and all the other customers seemed to be enjoying their meals. For dessert, my husband got the«cookie skillet» with ice cream and pecan sauce. It came to table with a hot cookie and vanilla ice cream with a drizzle of the sauce and pecans on top. Simply delicious.

Great restaurant. Fresh food and super service. We had the fish and chips and it was the best we have had this side of Ireland.

What a delicious surprise! The sausage sub on French bread, with marinara and provolone cheese was crusty and good. It had a little bite to it. My Mom had an authentic Cuban sandwich with good bread, pickles, lean pork and ham that was just right. The portions were decent and we thoroughly enjoyed sharing ½ of each sandwich with the other person. We loved sitting outside and had a great waitress. The owner is from Ireland and was also very nice to talk with.

Food was OK. 2 people for lunch and total was $ 40 some dollars! Menu too pricey for what you get. Lunch has no drinks only ice tea.

After reading the reviews from previous customers I’m not sure we are talking about the same place. We arrived around 5:30 and decided to share a ½ rack and pulled pork dinner. I requested a side salad before the dinner arrived which I am still waiting on. My friend asked the waiter if they had Splenda for his unsweetened tea(there was only Sweet and Low on the table). The waiter said that they had it and brought out the beverages. When my friend asked for the Splenda he pointed to the Sweet and Low and said, «here it is». At that point I think we both knew this meal may not end well. The ½ rack was small with absolutely NO smoke flavor. The pulled pork was the same way, bland and without flavor. The sizes of everything on the plate were small. The best part of the meal was the coleslaw, which was acceptable. Our money would have been much better spent elsewhere. We will NOT be returning to Patriots Grill in the future.

Frys are awesome. French dip is huge and also awesome. Philly steak is awesome. Looked pretty big too. It was my wife’s. Chicken salad my wife’s friend had must have been good she was done before all of us. Chicken philly of wife’s friend’s husband was damn tasty he said. And his friends barbecue I overhead him saying he liked it alot. They bring you a cool six pack of three different kinds of barbecue sauces and ketchup, malt vinegar and hot sauce. I might have to plan a trip around going back to this restaurant.

Great little place to grab a sandwich or some Que around the middle peninsula. The Que was moist, juicy and had a good smoke to it. Also had the French Dip which was done like a Cuban press. The meat was fantastic very smoky and tender. Good beer selection including many Irish ones. Service was fast and friendly even though the place was busy and the AC wasn’t keeping up with the hot day. Nice deck and patio for outside dining as well. We will be back to try more of their offerings.

What a treat this place is up here in Gloucester. Delicious food. The smoked chicken sandwich is huge and the fries are nice and greasy. The staff is always eager to please and friendly. We have only eaten here at lunch and its usually not busy and service is quick.

The Patriots Grill is located in what used to be El Ranchito, just off Rt. 14⁄17 east of WalMart. It’s a friendly, noisy, inexpensive place, with REALLY good barbecue. The ‘cue is North Carolina style, i.e. without the red sauce(it’s in squeeze bottles on the table, along with Carolina-style pepper vinegar). The ‘cue is juicy, tender, and nicely smokey. They also serve burgers, and other goodies as well. According to the menu, they cook their burgers to 165 °F(i.e. medium), but the burgers are nice and juicy all the same. They serve beer(bottled) and wine. Nothing fancy, but whatever brand the Chardonnay was, it was nice and fruity. I believe they’re open for lunch, and they stay open until 9PM weeknights — I don’t know what the weekend hours are. Overall, a great addition to the scene.
