Disappointing. It appears they are about to go out of business soon :^(. They were out of most of the dishes we wanted to order the other evening and we got the last two cokes(we had ice tea for refills instead) They used to be a 3⁄4 star establishment imho especially considering the remote and picturesque locale… Unfortunately no more and worst of all for me; it’s one less nearby diner to choose from when the desire to cook at home is just not inspiring me. My friend stayed at the motel a few weeks ago and said it is still quite nice. #EnjoyYourLife

Worked near there for a week. Ate and stayed at the Illahee restaurant and motel throughout the week. The dinners were outstanding. For a small town restaurant it was much more than I was expecting. I highly recommend this establishment.

The little town of Glide has a population of 1795. This restaurant is directly on one of the most beautiful highways(highway 138). It boasts a milion waterfalls, camping, hiking etc. It’s one of those places that you pass on your way to somewhere else. However, you also get hungry on the road and probably wonder about these restaurants that you are driving by. Is it worth me stopping here, or should I just hit a little store up the road for some cheetos and a coke? We were actually not only stopping in this town but we stayed here so we could visit all those wonderful waterfalls and take fabulous hikes. I’m trailing off here though. We visited this little«hidden gem» a few times while we were in town. It’s basically the only one anyway. The owner here seems to keep up appearances as the place looks clean and spiffy with your usual fresh flower baskets and all. I really did not expect much. I mean these«diners» usually have the stick to your ribs food, the big boring omelettes, the once frozen hash browns, the burgers of every persuasion, the iceberg lettuce and tasteless tomato halves in their salads. You know the places. I eat fish, seafood, veggies. I never expect a place like this to have anything for me. I usually have to create some sort of dish for myself by what I can find on their menu. We sat down and opened up the menu. We were so surprised because right there in print was their homemade veggie burger, amoungst the other ones but, homemade? Their own recipe! Wow. Of course we had to check it out. They also make their own salad dressings and they are not your normal, boring choices. We opted for their cucumber vinaigrette. I also ordered a glass of wine. There are wineries all around this area too so they had a selection from one of the local wineries offered. They brought us our plates and not only did we see not one iceberg lettuce leaf but the salad was so colorful. They even take the time to slice the carrots to look pretty. The dressing was scrumptious but the homemade burger wonderful! We showed up another night and I took a chance and ordered the fettucini alfredo(NEVER eat that), and the noodles were homemade. I did not ask if they made them. The alfredo sauce did not taste like it came from a powder mix. Finally, they’ve got a whole dessert display up front, loaded up with pies of every flavor, and tall cakes. It was our anniversary so I just«had» to share something with the hubby. I ordered a slice of lemon cream pie(not meringe). She shows up with this huge hunka pie. Whoa. We shared it and still ended up needing to take the rest back to the rental. And later I sat on the deck overlooking the river eating pie. Now that’s a perfect day.

So we’re visiting the in-laws in Roseburg, OR and my hubby’s step-dad wanted to bring us to this restaurant. Being from Southern California, I was a little skeptical about this restaurant in the middle of nowhere. What I found was friendly staff and delicious, fresh food. The regular fries left a lot to be desired the first time we ate here they were overcooked and way too crunchy, the second time they were undercooked and floppy but the sweet potato fries and onion rings are delicious so go with those. I ordered a burger, which was fresh and delicious. If you’re out visiting this area, or more likely, passing through, I would definitely recommend a stop here.

They are the friendliest people in this quaint resteraunt. The food is prepared beautifully, and it tastes as good as it looks! The prices are average, but WELL worth the price considering the location. I eat here constantly and I would defenitely recommend eating here. Great comfort food, nice burger and sandwich selection, great choices for vegetarians, and meat-eaters alike. A+

This is just a review of last night’s experience. Usually it is five stars for me but the awful dinner I had last night and the minimal service left me with no choice. We were the only ones there for most of the dinner and only one other party came in and we still couldn’t get refills on our drink. When I told her that the chicken was overcooked and had a burnt taste she gave me a lame excuse about how the chicken breast gets cut in half to cook faster. The potatoes were good, the veggies were great too which is why I added the 2nd star. My husband liked his burger and fries but a drink refill would have been nice. I will try again because of past experience but if this had been my first time it would have been over.

Better than average place to eat. About 20 miles east of Roseburg on hwy 138. Great place to stop on the way to or from Diamond Lake. Decent variety of food, sometimes a bit slow buts that’s expected with smaller, out of the way places. Yesterday 4 of us waited about 40 min for food. Small place, 1 chef at that time of day. Food is always good and served hot. Never had a cold meal. Avg price for breakfast or lunch about $ 10 per person not including beverage. Dinner is a bit higher.

Actually sitting in this place currently. I waited 35 minutes for a breakfast that was as cold as the other side of the pillow. I felt like they made my breakfast forgot about it and than with no acknowledgment she brings me my food. I will not be coming back here. Thanks for the horrible beginning to my day. Cheers

Yes, 5 stars! This may be the only 5 star rating I’ll ever give. On a scenic byway road trip back in September 2009, we stopped at this restaurant at the recommendation of the locals. The restaurant was not very crowded as we had just missed the dinner crowd. The service was great and the food outstanding! I ordered the«Olé Blue Burger». One word: DELISH! The burger comes with their homemade fries… oh, my word. Both the burger and the fries were enormous. I had to ask the waitress… «Really? This is for ONE person?» The amount of food provided equaled the quality and taste. Needless to say, I had to take half the entrée as leftovers. Okay, let me be honest. I purposely only ate half my entrée since I REALLY wanted to save room for dessert. Upon entering the restaurant, there is a glass display of homemade pies/cakes. I wish they offered a «pie/cake sampler» because I would have gladly sampled all. I ended up choosing the Strawberry/Rhubarb pie. Lawdy! The«slice» of pie was also enormous. Once again, I had to ask the waitress… «Really? This is your standard serving for one?» She nodded and laughed. This pie was the best pie I’ve ever eaten! The crust was flaky and the filling was superb! If we were not mid way through our road trip and had refrigeration available, I would have easily purchased several whole pies to go! My companion(a vegetarian) ordered a salad and a side of fries and was quite pleased with both items. Next time I’m in Oregon, I’m definitely making a side trip to revisit this fantastic restaurant! Let me not forget to add that our waitress was fantastic! Outstanding service and outstanding food… a winning combination!

Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Had a great burger here. I think it was called Mt. Scott(just a regular cheeseburger). But it was mmmmmmmm mmmmm good! The fries are ginormous, fresh, and so tastey. Service was also spectaular. I wish we had something like this in the SF Bay Area. Thanks for a great lunch!
