This was the authentic Polish fare I’ve been looking for. I will always pay a visit when Glenwood Springs. Potato pancakes awesome as well as everything else within the combo plate.

We gave up our reservation at a very well-known establishment downtown to try Polanka — mostly based on the stellar reviews. What a home run! We first ordered the combo plate and a side of potato pancakes. Halfway through the meal we were so in love with the food that we ordered a second combo. The cabbage roll, sausage, pierogi, and sauerkraut were out of this world — seriously! The food is very affordable compared to other restaurants in town. As a formal local of Glenwood, I can say that this is one of my favorite places hands down. My only complaint would be the deli-like atmosphere. If you’re looking for«fancy», this won’t be your place but if you’re wanting amazing home-cooked food like grandma makes(at a great price), choose Polanka.

A gem of a restaurant! I had the combo plate and it was the best sauerkraut, pierogis, stuffed cabbage, and kielbasa I have ever had. Service was quick. A very mom and pops feel. Could not recommend this place more. If you are in Glenwood springs check it out.

So, so, so delicious. Our party ordered nearly every item on the menu(combo plate, potato pancakes, piorgies, blintzes) and enjoyed absolutely everything. Truly a gem. Already looking forward to going back next time I’m in Glenwood Springs. Yum!!!

A few years ago my boyfriend and I had a car accident in Colorado and the tow took us to Glenwood Springs. It was a really miserable time, maybe 4 days. And the only thing that we could agree on was Polanka.

Amazing food made by some hard working friendly folks. We had the combo, potato pancakes and chicken cutlet meal. Portions were large and food was exceptionally fresh and high quality. I would return to G.S. just to eat here again!

Tried 3 days to have lunch or dinner here… kept missing open times. Today we made it for lunch and it was definitely worth the wait! I could eat here everyday! Irene has the best authentic homemade food in town! I had the combination plate which is a great sampling of Irene’s food.

There is no finer, higher-quality, fully authentic polish food(and especially blintzes, pierogies and kielbasa) anywhere. If the hard-working dynamic duo behind the counter don’t inspire you, nothing will. Visit these powerful, talented women for your next home-cooked meal. Simply WOW.

The food was greasy and delicious. We split a combo plate, three potato pancakes, and the prune blintzes between two people. We had to get a box at the end. Reviewer Elyse L.‘s description in the second paragraph of her review is spot-on. Being the only people in the restaurant for a late lunch, we were still«yelled at» to come get our food. This added to the home-cooked, put-your-head-down-and-enjoy-your-meal experience. A must-try even if you’re just passing through — it’s right off the highway!

Irene is owner and cook. She does a fantastic job of making fresh, delcious food. Menu is simple yet enough choice to match whatever you might be in the mood for. It’s all about the food for sure and you cant go wrong with any of it! Will make a point to return on my next trip to Glenwood.

You definitely have to overlook the restaurant itself, which is strictly utilitarian, no frills, and looks like it was last decorated some time in the 70s. There’s only a counter separating the cooks from the dining area and when we visited, one of the cooks took a break from work to go take care of her crying baby. If you can get over the super casual greasy spoon feel of the place, however, Polanka is pretty darn good. Definitely not health food, mind you, but great for a splurge after a day of hiking, biking, fishing, or what-have-you. I ordered the cheese blintzes, my friend ordered a pork sandwich, and we ordered some potato pancakes to split. The pancakes were good though far too greasy for me(to be fair, I’ve been on a diet for three months so my tolerance for greasy food is pretty low right now) but MAN those blintzes really hit the spot! They were a perfect blend of savory and sweet and the portions were huge — each blintz was about the size of your typical Mexican restaurant burrito.

Really delicious polish food. Their combo plate is a great deal and their pierogis are perfect — nice sear on the outside and pillowy on the inside. The owners are both really nice and even let me sample soup to see if I liked it first. They make the food fresh to order. This isn’t a fancy restaurant but the food tastes like good home cooking. Get their pierogis!

Great, hearty options in an area that suffers from lack of good food. I like this place. It’s fast and to the point.

Everything was delicious! Love the perogis which had a great crispy outter texture… yummy Then the potato pancakes also nice n crispy n comes with side of sour cream n apple sauce was also just as yummy :-) The chicken cutlet sandwhiches were good but a little chewy chicken but I could tell everything was homemade, like they hammer flattened the chicken cutlet. The combo was a delicious mix of kielbasa, perogis, cabbage roll that was a mix of meat n rice, sauerkraut. Also had the beat soup which is a warm soup that was very tasty. Definitely check out this place if u r ever in Glenwood Springs, CO!!! Peace :-)

Wow, I was blown away with how good the food was. I was born in Warsaw and was raised on Polish food. This was as authentic as it gets. Traditional and delicious. All 4 of us got the combo; everyone finished the whole plate and raved about it afterward. The pierogi and golompki were both amazing. Almost as good as my grandma would make. The kelbasa was really good too. The 2 ladies who were in there were really nice and you can tell they know what they’re doing. Everything is homemade and fresh. Can’t wait to go back. If there are no plans to open a Denver location I guess I’ll have to keep driving almost 3 hours for legit Polish food. Sorry Denver area Polish restaurants, you can’t touch this place. And to the other reviewers on here, they’re not called pierogies. Pierogi is already plural.

OMG! Polanka is the real deal, if you love Polish food that is! Don’t come for the atmosphere, come for the periogi and the pork sandwich, and everything else on the menu. Disclaimer, I’m half Polish and grew up with my grandmother’s pierogi and golobki, so I’ve got a little experience in this area. The saddest part of my visit was when I had to leave

Love Polish food? Don’t know what constitutes Polish food? Either way, Polanka’s is for you. Seriously, I am Polish-American and I had no idea what real Polish food was until I visited Polanka’s. Polanka’s is awesome because it is owned by a real Polish woman who still has a heavy accent and cooks a mean meal. Her food is unfussy and her restaurant is too. When you walk in she says hello, points to the menu and has you order. Then, she whips it up in her open kitchen and yells for you when it is ready to be picked up at the counter. Tonight we feasted on the combination platter which comes with four pierogis and sour cream, one stuffed cabbage with ground meat, sourkraut, and one grilled sausage. We also had the chicken cutlet dinner with noodles and broccoli. We loved, loved, loved the combo platter and enjoyed the cutlets. Pierogis were our favorite item and we couldn’t resist ordering a dessert of blintzes. I couldn’t make up my mind on whether to order the cheese or apple and when I asked which was her favorite, she said she would make me one of each to try. This was heaven to my ears! The cheese blintz was warm and crispy on the outside and melty cheesy lemony sweetness on the inside. The apple ditto, except for it was filled with warm, sweet, applesauce. Yum! Loved it! I would like it if there were soft Polish music playing in the background. That would send me over the moon! This is a little bit of home cooking for me while I am at one of my favorite vacation spots!
