High Country Gems & Minerals

My nerdy side loves little gems like this store and makes me regret not having studied chemistry in high school. Luckily, my husband is well versed in chemistry and has fun helping me identify the makeup of varying minerals that seem of interest. :p There truly is something for everyone here, whether you want to spend a few dollars or hundreds of dollars on gifts for yourself or others. The owner and employee were ultra friendly, attentive, informative and helpful.
Some of the items I picked up includes a beautifully cut crystal to hang in my large window… (Who doesn’t love rainbows shining into their homes every morning?!?) Several small mineral chip bracelets (4 for $ 10! Opalite, citrine, grey labrodite) a smooth rounded purple and blue chinese flurodite bracelet ($ 8) and a purple/​blue/​grey iridescent pendant ($ 12) which they strung on a thin black adjustable necklace for no additional cost.
Another fun item you can find here are Tibetan bowls in various sizes made of quartz! I had never seen tibetan bowls made of quartz before, onlymetal (s). If you ask about them, they can quickly get a few going so you can experience the wondrous sounds and vibes.

We stopped in here while we were walking around and I am glad that we did! The owner of the store is very sweet and is willing to spend time explaining everything you would want to know about different rocks!

Stopped in here after lunch on the way to Aspen. Lots of interesting gems, minerals, and crystals. Even more interesting owner. She played the singing bowls and gong for us… this alone was worth the stop.

My absolute favorite place to poke around in in Glenwood Springs: my father’s hometown. This shop has been here since before I can remember and most of my most fond memories took place with my father explaining the various treasures in the store to my 7-​year-​old self. Now an adult, I still marvel at all of the «gems», minerals, fossils, and jewelry this place boasts. Definitely drop by to browse if you can: even if you aren’t a rock person (I never really have been) you will enjoy this place and the selection!

Went to stop by to check it out. We read the review although it was just one review it was a good one. Rocks and gems wall to wall and very good price and Patti Rock Star was a true gem. I love rocks and gems. I found some that I have not seen before. She is knowledgeable. LOVE HER STORE.

Very cool rock/​gem/​mineral shop in the heart of Glenwood Springs. They had a wide variety of crystals, rock lamps, marble switch plates, jewelry, books, mobiles, I could go on and on. Patti the owner was very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth stopping in for any rock/​crystal enthusiast.
