Avoid staying here unless you can stay in one of the nicer units(ask the helpful managers which ones they are). We stayed in B5, and it was dirty(blood on pillowcase and mattress, and the dishes were dirty as were the walls) and extremely outdated. For the price(169 plus an extra 10 per night for each guest over 4 guests), I expect much nicer. Also, the parking situation was terrible. There is one way in, you have to either back in or back out, and numerous cars kept getting stuck in the deep, soft snow alongside the parking area.

We stayed at Brettleberg Christmas weekend with some of our family. The skiing was great — fantastic and the staff at the mountain resort were awesome. We had great experiences with the ski school and just the staff in general. That being said… The condos left a lot to be desired. It definitely shows its age. We were in B6 and the pipes in the ceiling and walls– I think they were water pipes– would rattle and tap whenever anyone upstairs would use the water. It was so loud and kept us awake. The bunk beds were dirty and the mattresses on the bunks were paper thin. The dishes in the cabinets looked dirty and it was very poorly stocked. The interior hall ways smelled of mildew. It has a great location but next time we will stay in Glenwood Springs or rent a VRBO.

We tagged along with a group that was staying here and skiing sunlight. I have two little boys that are learning so Sunlight resort was perfect for them. Small, affordable and friendly. However our accommodations were disappointing. We paid $ 169 a night which I didn’t think was«cheap» but it is ski in ski out. We got a look at rooms B3, B6, and B7. All the rooms were pretty bad. B7 was recently renovated, but still looks pretty old. At night the pipes for the radiant heat system makes tons of noise. The beds were uncomfortable and dirty. The whole design of this place is a bit strange and parking is scarce and complicated. Once Sunlight mountain shuts down their is nothing to do in the area. I would be more than happy to drive the 20 minutes back to Glenwood Springs and stay somewhere for half the cost.

So, always lead with a positive, right? The place is charming and secluded, especially in the summer when we stayed, early August to be exact. Great surroundings and pleasant drive to the property. Decent value, especially compared to the jacked up rates in Glenwood that weekend due to Ragnar and the Crossfit competition I was there for but on the high end for what we expected. We stayed in a room that sleeps 7 with a lift that my daughter loved. Hot tub was steps away and pretty cool. The place is aging and it shows. On the disappointing side, all of the pullout sleepers in our unit had dirty sheets and items such as coins and gravel/dirt in them. One of the loft beds was clean but other was not. The provided dishes were dirty in the cupboards and had to be rewashed before use. I get that it’s hard for the management to check all of this between stays but it still grossed me out. The activity room was supposed to be closed at 9pm but was full of around 20 people and immediately adjacent to our room. It was 1030pm. They kept my daughter up for a bit before I went to ask them to please quiet down which they happily did. Point being, razor thin walls. All in all, I would probably come back for less than 100/night rate but not for 150 in the summer.

Love this place. Each condo is privately owned. No two are alike. Great cheap, ski in/ski out on Sunlight Mountain Resort.
