For whatever reason, I was obsessed with buying some nice soap while in Glenwood Springs. I found that at the Artist’s Mercantile, but there’s also much more. The main reason to head in is to view(and possibly purchase) all the fun artwork they showcase. Most of it seemed to be from local artists, and there was a huge variety… modern, country, landscapes, etc. If you’re not in the market for a painting, you can also check out all the cards, handmade jewelry, and other little treasures they’ve got around the store. Finally, what makes a store? The service. The owner took a few minutes to talk to me about some of the local artists he showcases. Though I wasn’t able to make a big purchase this time, I may well do so next time I’m around town.
