My daughter began coming here at age 5, and I just started karate at the age of 39; I’m addicted. Classes are taught by highly decorated Shihan Jeff Kohn (who goes by Sensei to everyone) and other Senseis (of 3rd degree black belt) and the training is an excellent workout for mind and body.
Sensei Kohn has coached national teams and won myriad awards over the past 30+ years and also specializes in training those with physical and mental disabilities. He started Karate Can-​Do Foundation to help children of all abilities reach their goals.
If you’re looking for more than park district level training, this dojo goes above and beyond in quality. So many success stories have gone through North Shore Dojo since 1979. I can’t wait for my next class to work on my own success story!

Amazing Karate school. Sensei Jeff Kohn really knows what he is doing and the kids in the program are taught karate at the highest level. Great program for adults too! Highest quality.
