Come here for lunch every so often since I work right around the corner. They have great lunch combo options and prices if you’re looking for all american food. I am just not a fan of their service. It tends to be always slow, they are not typically super busy during lunch but I would set aside an hour and a half plus+ if you plan to come in during the day.

I love this place! It is such a great place in the suburbs for us to hang out. They have an amazing bar selection and the food never disappoints. Whether u are in the mood for amazing pizza or gourmet sandwiches, this place has it all! North branch rocks !

North Branch is one of my go-to place when I want to have their chopped salad or just to have a simple, no frills, good American food. I’ve been coming to this place for a while now and the food has been good, I always leave feeling satisfied and with left over food to take home. Last night though, I’ve decided to be honest. Their service has been consistently just plain bad. Very slow and you have to call any server’s attention just to ask for what you want… Anything. Place a drink or food order, napkins, water, everything! It has ALWAYS been like this and I have always been patient. My dining experience last night could have lasted 45 minutes max… But because of the time intervals just waiting or looking for someone to ask for a drink, water, napkins, the bill, a take out box… it took my friend and I, 2 hours and 15 mins just for an order of a full slab of ribs which we didn’t even finish. I wanted to order a slice of cheesecake for dessert but I knew that it would probably take another 30 to 45 minutes again so I skipped that and looked for someone to get our check. It was that sad, and I’ve had it. I hope they would train their staff more on how not to ignore customers that they pass by… Or just please train their staff, period.

Even though we live nary a mile from North Branch, we had never set foot in this bar/restaurant; but my wife chose it because she wanted to share in the excitement of eating somewhere new, and using a discount coupon she found on a web site. Prior to our trek, I happened to review what our fellow Unilocalers experienced there, and I saw that there were many criticisms of slow and indifferent service. As our Conestoga wagon entered the parking lot, I was expecting to see a flock of buzzards or condors flying around the place, trying to pick the bones of pioneers who starved to death waiting for their meals. I didn’t see any such birdies. We walked in about 11:30 am, and the place was empty. Just us, a bartender, and a waitress. An even match on either side in the event of a rumble. Actually, about 15 minutes later, quite a few diners began to amble in. They saw our wagon and figured that Conestoga Wagon drivers know about all the great eateries. We had no problems. Helen, a friendly(and extremely short) waitress, greeted us immediately — and fortunately she did not ask us if we had made reservations. She offered us menus and patiently explained a few questions we had about their bill of fare. We wife ordered her usual drink: Diet Coke. We carefully examined the menu, and proceeded to order. I asked for the Ron Burgundy, a hamburger concoction that included onions, vegetables, mushrooms, and a mild garlic mayonnaise topping that I took on the side. Mrs B ordered Ruprecht’s French Dip, which was a french dip with some sauces and toppings. A few minutes later, Helen presented us with two truly enormous entrees on trays with wax paper. The«tray with wax paper phenomenon» has been analyzed in some of Richard B’s Unilocal treatises. Each was topped with something that looked like a breaded flying saucer; which was actually a breaded pickle! The entrée was prepared exactly the way I liked it: and it was so enormous, that I had to take half of Ron Burgundy home(and I am not going to tell you what half I took.) Mrs B was very pleased with her sandwich, and somehow gobbled the whole thing down at one sitting. [Man, can she chow down! I think that she is going to Coney Island to participate in the Nathan’s Independence Day hot dog competition.] The quality, taste, presentation, and service could not have been better, so I am going to award North Branch with five stars. And, «Don’t act like you’re not impressed.» Do you know the source of that quip?

This place is quite good! The only flaw is that the service is super slow… literally, it was empty and the service was beyond slow. We ordered cheese curds as an appetizer and the waitress completely forgot. However, they were quite tasty. For our meals, I ordered the All American, my other guest ordered the Farmer Brown, and my other guest ordered a plain burger. We all loved our burgers and thought they were juicy and cooked to perfection. The fries were okay but kinda greasy. They tasted quite delicious with cheese so I highly recommend ordering them with cheese! Overall, we enjoyed our meal and definitely will be back.

This is booming restaurant in an area long known as a food wasteland. We were promptly seated and quickly served. The service was amazing– better than many fine dining places. We were checked on constantly by our waiter and the manager. The burger is juicy and customizable. A medium burger arrives medium. French fries taste house made. There are also daily dinner specials of pizza, ribs, etc. there’s a lively bar, too.

Not my favorite place and a big disappointment for the recommendation I received to give it a try. It is not a welcoming haven of happiness. Kind of down and dreary(as well as way too warm) and just got the overwhelming feeling the business was there to make someone feel important… not really make money or satisfy patrons. Though the barkeep was lot more pleasant to look than myself in the mirror it was not the kind of service I was looking for. Just looking to catch the end of the bears game, a pint, and quick bite. The burger and pizza both looked good so had Siri flip a coin and it came up pizza. Another let down. Not all that good with veggies far less than al dente and underdone dough(plus I asked for pie slices and got squares). Though the portions were nice I cant say I’ll be making a 2nd visit.

Our server Daniel was very rude and the food was overpriced and mediocre, at best. The service was terrible and we were charged $ 3 for adding blackening spices to chicken. Don’t go here if you’re not into bad service and bad food.

I like North Branch. It has a decent beer selection. Can we say WESTCOASTBEER? This is excellent when you’re a Jersey Gal. I was thrilled to have 21st Amendment last time I was there. They also supply brews from Evanston. It’s a nice mix from across the country. Food is above average. And the portions are YUUUUUGE. Donald Trump voice. They have a little bit of everything, from burgers to sandwiches to uniquely flavored quesadillas. Did I mention there is a great happy hour with food specials? And brew specials? Illinois legalizing happy hour has made living here a lot more fun. Close to my office but a PITA to get to. Milwaukee is not a fun road to drive on because of congestion after work hours. They have a great party room that can fit about 50 people. I’ve not had a poor experience here. 4 stars because I’m really not a fan of the location but it’s definitely in the regular rotation.

Dined as a party of 8 on Sunday night, 11⁄22. While the food was great, the service was absolutely terrible: not enough plates/silverware, not refilling drinks, wrong orders, missing sides, failing to clear the table. Not sure if this was indicative of their usual service, or just a bad night. Will probably avoid this place in the future.

Went here on Friday evening with a friend. We sat in the bar area. Enjoyed the atmosphere. It felt like a neighbor hangout where people could get to know you. The beer selection on tap was good! Found a new beer I have become fond of. The menu is typical bar food! My friend ordered nachos to start with. They came out quick and were very cheesy! Yum. For dinner I ordered the fried chicken. Was crispy and very tasty! Mashed taters were awesome too! Wish there were some veggies on the side too! My friend ordered the shrimp club she said it was awesome especially the bread it was on! Will definitely be going back for more!

Service was absolutely awful! Had to flag our waitress down to fill our drinks, bring the dipping sauce for our appetizer, and we couldn’t even get her attention during the meal. She clearly did not want to be bothered. Other than that the food was pretty good, will go back to try out some other stuff on the menu but the service definitely needs to improve because going here just because the food is good will become old fast. My boyfriend and I were ready to walk out, thankfully the food made up for her inability to perform her job.

Working in Glenview, there isn’t a whole lot of selection when it comes to lunch spots. On a recommendation, I made a trip here with a few co-workers. Being a work lunch I wasn’t too worried about the ambiance and feel of the place. I was just concerned that the service was prompt and the food was at least decent. North Branch was able to deliver on both fronts for me. Each of us took advantage of the lunch deal where you pick two items for a flat price. It worked out well and everyone seemed to enjoy what they got. Salads were large and the sandwiches were even bigger. I got the Adult Grilled Cheese with fries and I was only able to eat half. Stuffed with tomato, ham and bacon, I appreciated the twist on the classic. The only thing I would change would be the curious wording on a few of their lunch items. «Yesterday’s Soup» and«Cheap Salad» were among the choices. With names like that, who wouldn’t be excited about ordering them? North Branch isn’t going to knock your culinary socks off by any means, but you can get a huge lunch here for under $ 10 and still make it back to the office in time to run up the flagpole some synergistic value add ideas.

Decent food and decent service. We have been here several times and food is good for a casual dining restaurant. The nacho app was loaded with beans, but could have used some more cheese. Plenty of pizza and sandwich options on the menu. My son ordered a pretzel burger med/well. He was brought a burger on a regular bun; sent back to get right bun. Burger patty was cooked well; he ate some and we took the rest home to the dog. In the area with limited similar options; worth a shot. I would recommend«The Carraugh» in the Glen as a better option.

My husband has been here several times before with work people. He decided it was time for me to try it out, and I’m impressed. The fried pickles are the biggest I have EVER seen/eaten. And they taste really good. The sauce that is served with them is yummy. My husband got the chopped salad, and I got the Hilly Billy burger(turkey instead of beef) with sweet potato fries. Slight up charge of $ 1 for sweet potato fries which I think is really reasonable. Not to mention I’m taking fries home with me since there were so many. I chose the Hilly Billy because I really wanted a burger, but have a hard time passing up pulled pork. This was the best of both worlds. And the Parmesan dressing for the fries was a really good pairing. I tried the chop salad and it was really good, too. This is totally a place you should go for great food, huge portions, and awesome service.

I had the Napa Vally Burger with regular fries. I am so happy I got the regular fries because they are AMAZING! Crispy, yet soft in all the right ways. The burger was falling apart in my hands, but I didn’t mind. It’s an all or nothing experience. The burger was one of the best I’ve had. All the sauces, and everything mixing together was pure synergy in my mouth. I inhaled that burger, and I will be coming back for more. Sundays are $ 3 desserts!!! I Split a Cookie skillet with a friend. Breaking up the cookie, and mixing it in the ice cream was my favorite way to eat it. I would highly recommend it if your in the area. Location, just be carful becaue when I Unilocaled the address, and google mapped it, it took us into a park the first time.

Had a large dinner here for work! Never been here but would love to return. The salmon we served was excellent and the appetizer of guacamole was so amazing good. Made fresh and not from a package. I was seriously impressed. The staff was super attentive, picking up excess dishes and glasses quickly. Would love to try plates off the menu on my next return!

Pretty good. Im new to the neighborhood and I was looking for a place to watch the Hawks game and get dinner. We opted to sit in the bar. Lots of TV’s for your Hockey enjoyment. Food was decent. We shared the Cheese Curds. YUM! One friend had the Chopped Salad(it was GIANT), another friend had a Chicken Philly sandwich that was bigger than her head and I had a burger. I asked for it well done and it came out Medium. I was hungry so I ate it. but it was still Mooing. YUK! They have a large beer selection. and only 2 ciders available. BOOO! They don’t have Angry Orchard or Stella Cidre, but they have Crispen and Redds. Service was good. the bartender and waitress we had seemed friendly and accommodating. BTW. I also took a chance on this place for delivery. Same thing happened with the burger. Maybe they have something against well done. Id give more stars if my 2 burgers were cooked the way I wanted them. Nevertheless, its a decent place. Ill be back for something other than a burger.

Northbranch is a definitely a hidden gem. I drove by here a few times thinking it was a bank or something… the façade looks like one. So glad I ended up going in one day! The food is really good and the portions are a good size. I like their pick 2 of 3 lunch special. You can pick 2 items out of 3 categories… like a soup/salad, soup/sandwich, quesadilla/salad, grilled chicken/soup, etc. I believe that option costs like $ 8 and there is an upcharge for certain additions/substitutions. I’ve had the veggie quesadilla, pot stickers, salads, tomato soup, chicken noodle soup, wraps, and the Mediterranean chicken and friends(so good). They also have daily specials which are pretty awesome. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because the service isn’t the greatest. Last time I was there, my husband and I waited 8 minutes until someone even came to our table. It wasn’t even that crowded. And then we ordered our appetizers and entrees and our entrees came out, but the appetizer never did. We informed our server and she said«oh, i think one of the servers ate them.» Say what? Even if that is the case… you probably shouldn’t tell the customer that. We laughed, but still… Another scenario, I never got my salad while the others at my table did. I couldn’t even find someone to ask. When I finally flagged someone down, the entrees came out and I still hadn’t received my salad. So, things like that put a little damper on the dining experience. Hoping the service improves. I will continue to go for the food.
