The ice cream here really is like a dream– perfect texture of fluffy and creamy, and just the right amount of sweetness. They also have such a variety of interesting flavors, including«play doh»(who wouldn’t want to eat play doh?!) — my personal favorite. Weldon Soda Fountain just cannot compare in quality. Love it!

Here it’s 7:45 on a First Friday night and Dreams isn’t open. Wake up, Dreams! This is a missed opportunity since I rarely come to Glenside and might come back if I like your ice cream. The website says they’re open till 10 and lots of people are walking around visiting shops. But Dreams is nowhere to be found.

My two boys and I finally had the chance to check this place out this summer, and I was really excited to take them. Most of what passes for ice cream within walking distance of home is to be found either at Dunkin Donuts or a convenience store, so I couldn’t wait to see if this place was any good — it was great. The counters were manned by two local high school kids that were really engaging, were very good with my kids and helped them make choices. The ice cream was really good, and the atmosphere was cute. It was well worth the mile and a half walk, and it made for some really fun memories. We’ve been back twice, and it has never been disappointing.

Dreams proved to be a good place to stop for ice cream. The man at the counter was very friendly and offered me a sample of any flavors I wanted. I tried coconut– creamy but light– so I ended up buying a single scoop. I thought the price was reasonable compared with local chains. The shop did look«low-budget» but it was clean enough. Overall, I would recommend this shop.

At first impression, it looks like any other place to get ice cream. It looked nice so we decided to give it a try. Inside had a nice chalk board with roughly 25 flavors listed. There was one girl by herself. She worked to make sure everyone was attended to. When it was our turn to order I saw that some flavors looked like they had been sitting for a couple days, others were fresh while some were close to empty with old ice cream dried on the sides with frost on parts of the ice cream still left. I decided to order coffee and chocolate with peanut butter since they looked ok. My bowl was nicely portioned but the coffee was tasteless with a hint of freezer. I thought my chocolate peanut butter had been mistakenly changed to chocolate but halfway through I finally got a tiny chunk of peanut butter. I was disappointed since we had waited all week to take my girls out! My girls luckily had water ice which was fresh. Time to get the factory up and running with some fresh ice cream!

I don’t understand how this place get even mildly bad reviews because hands down it was one of the best ice-cream experiences I’ve had since I was a kid! I have been craving ice cream all summer, partly because Every time I get ice cream it’s just blah. Dream’s pulled me out of my ice cream rut and I was more than highly satisfied. I tried the birthday cake ice cream which was heavenly! Next time I go I definitely want to get the ice cream tipped funnel cake! The place was adorable on the outside and clean on the inside. They had tons of flavors, good prices, and the girls behind the counter were very nice and truly acted like it was their pleasure to serve you. The owners of the place were also extremely kind and down to earth and said hello & goodbye to every customer that walked in and out! My only gripe is I wish it was closer to my home! I’ll definitely be coming back!

FIrst off«Jenks J.», I have to give you an award for Most Obviously Fake Review I’ve ever seen on Unilocal.Really? Now I don’t think Dreams is awful, but certainly not five stars. Pros– The owner greeted us and talked to us candidly. Very nice and welcoming guy. Trying to make it work and have a nice little community ice cream shop. Cons– First and fore most, the ice cream was not that great. Now, I have many other ice cream reviews and am picky when it comes down to a good cone… so if you just need something to cool off and don’t want to go to the grocery store to buy a pint, this would suffice. But when I go out and spend $ 3.50 on a rather small bowl of ice cream that claims to be «home-made» I want some creamy, luscious, decadent ice cream. Dreams just missed the mark on that one. Second, tidy up back there! If you are going to have open storage space for your containers, cleaning supplies, and miscellaneous shop items, at least keep it looking organized. There were boxes of stuff all over the place and by their«Grand Opening» sign out front I though«Oh well, if they just opened, maybe they aren’t all set up yet», but the owner told me this was their second season and they haden’t really just opened! If you want to present yourself as a quality business, take some pride in your appearance and tuck those boxes somewhere out of view. Big turn off. Over-all, in a pinch, I’d snag a cone here, but with some many better options available, I probably won’t.

The place is nice enough if not messy behind the counter. Very friendly but slow staff The issue is I got a cup with one scoop and one topping and another cup with one scoop and two toppings for 12.47. It’s a bit excessive especially when the board says one scoop 2.50

It’s hot and humid out, and I thought, what better way to start my Fourth of July 4-day weekend than with some homemade ice cream from the new shop down the road! Dreams Ice Cream Factory is located about 100 yards from the Glenside train station, in a cute little toy-like house. Apparently, this place used to be Glen Dobbins Ice Cream Shoppe before they closed down. I don’t really know what happened(I’m new to this area), but Dreams just opened up last week and that’s all that really matters– ‘cuz it’s SOGOOD! They sell a good variety of ice cream flavors, in addition to water ice, milkshakes, sundaes, and FUNNELCAKE(which I’ll have to try next time). I had their salted caramel, and it was delicious! A friend tried some of mine, and opted to get the same after the taste. Another friend had the birthday cake flavor, and she really enjoyed it as well. The prices were pretty reasonable– I paid $ 3.18 for two scoops. They do have waffle cones/bowls and toppings for a bit extra too. There’s just something extra special about homemade ice cream, ya know? And I’m really glad this place opened up in the neighborhood… although my health might say otherwise!
