Amazing variety with knowledgable owner and staff. Always willing to answer questions and make suggestions. A great place to shop for loose tea and tea paraphernalia whether you’re a newbie on an old tea hand.

Forget all those overpriced, crappy tea store chains creeping up; Sensibiliteas is the real deal. Her shop is in the historic Troy Shirt Factory and has an incredible selection of black, green, white, oolong, jasmine, and herbal teas. She also has those gorgeous blooming teas, teapots, containers, and tea accessories. Teas are very reasonably priced by the ounce.
The owner, Donnalynn, is the most knowledgeable tea specialist I’ve ever met. When I first started going there, I’d ask her for a tea that tasted like or smelled like something I’d had in the past, and she always came up with several options that were comparable, if not better.
When I moved away, I panicked that I wouldn’t be able to get my favorites, but she was very accommodating — just send her an email with your order, call in with payment, and she’ll ship anything, anywhere.
If you’ve never been or don’t know where to start, just ask. My most recent order included Earl Grey Bravo (probably my favorite tea of theirs) and Assam 1947 (on Donnalynn’s recommendation). They also do great flavored white teas: try White Blueberry or White Goji Blossom if you’ve never had them.
