I don’t know if I’ve ever handed out a five, but this place deserves it. Had a green salad for lunch and two beers. The salad was solid, nothing great, but the beers were excellent. One a cask conditioned bitter was straight out of London. England! The pale ale on tap was just as good. Nice malt hop balance. mreally well crafted. What has me giving five stars is the service was so friendly and attentive, from the bartender to the chef to the discussion I had with the brewer about making beer. Great folks and great beer.

The portobello wrap is delish! And the gratuity being added into the price is convenient. My boyfriends nachos weren’t all that great. Other than that, everything was perfect

Didn’t finish my food – hockey puck sliders and cheddar stout soup with an awful aftertaste. Two stars are for my fiancé’s decent fish tacos, thoroughly friendly service, and massive outdoor patio. Blerg.

What a great place! My husband and I were in the area a couple of days ago and stopped in for a couple of beer flights. One of the owners struck up a friendly conversation with us about beer and once he found out we were on our honeymoon treated us to a free bomber of scotch ale. The beer was excellent and the food was great. Highly recommended if you’re into trying out new beers from local breweries. If we’re ever in the area again we’ll definitely be back. Thanks for everything!

This visit was primarily to have the opportunity to once again have a pint of Wm. Newman’s Pale Ale. I last had it about 35 years ago when Bill was brewing it in Albany. A lot has changed in beer over those years and I didn’t know if I would enjoy it as much now with so many craft breweries that have come into existence. It turned out to be very likeable. It was a nice simple English ale. It makes me wonder even more so now, how acquaintances I introduced to it at a party north of Boston, cold have ever called it weasel piss. I wonder if they are still drinking Bud. The serving of Newman’s beer today was also part of a fundraiser for Parks & Trails New York and the Feeder Canal Alliance. So my $ 6.99 pint also contributed to a good cause. While there, I also had lunch. I ordered the Smokehouse Panini($ 12.49) with optional onion rings($ 2.99). The Panini had all-natural turkey breast with Oscar’s smoked cheddar, bacon, sun dried tomatoes, and a honey chipotle Dijon on a really nice multi-grain bread. Just enough bite in the chipotle Dijon. The onion rings were very good also. My server Nicole was efficient and friendly. She also made sure I was aware that the menu clearly states that all prices include the servers’ tip. I was in and out in less than an hour. Oh, I also brought home a growler of Newman’s so my wife could relive her memories too.

My family and I had lunch at Davidsons today. The food was terrible and so was the service. Nobody seemed to care. Clearly, the 18% surcharge has had a negative impact. The one star is for the beer which was tasty but nothing special.

We stopped at Davidson Brothers after a shopping trip in Lake George and we were very pleased. The food was great, service was good, and I always love a place with good beer! The restaurant is very casual but fun, live music while we were there. 2 of us had the beer samplers which was a very reasonable price and the beer was great! We definitely recommend checking this place out if you’re in the area, even if it’s just for a drink!

Our first time here was today. The service was excellent and all of the employees were very kind. One of the Davidson Brothers was there and came to our table to see how everything was and made simple conversation. It was great! The food was good and their new Spring Ale was awesome. I highly recommend this brewery. For not only their impeccable selection of craft beer but for their food as well.

I can’t believe I used to frequent this place. It has gotten to a point where other businesses in the area are stepping up their game and Davidson’s feels bland and outdated in comparison. Although the servers are wonderful and competent, management seemingly devalues their efforts routinely. I even have seen a waitress get ruthlessly chewed out by her boss in front of customers. The quality of their beer and food has suffered a sharp decline as well. Will not be back.

Was disappointed in the declining quality even before their new mandatory 18% surcharge. I stopped ordering drafts because I’ve been shorted on pints and there was too much head. There are other alternatives in downtown. Now we will stay away because of the way this business has treated their employees. Try Coopers Cave. You’ll have a better meal, better drink and better experience.

The food has always been mediocre at best and with the new tip policy I have more reason to not go here.

Went here years ago. Was never served menu was small. Recently the food has been amazing, however, they never have the drink I order. I have gone a few times and they are either out of the beer I order or their mixed drinks mix. I tried booking a party there. I called more than five times, I also wrote several e-mails. Nobody has returned my phone calls or e-mails. I will not be doing business here or suggesting this again!

We stopped in after spending the day in the area and were looking for a spot for dinner. We didn’t look at reviews and just decided to wing it. They advertise 50% off appetizers for happy hour, which doesn’t apply to 50% of their list — no seafood or the special appetizer. So, no, you do not have 50% appetizers for happy hour. You have a modified list at a reduced price. Let’s call a spade a spade. We decided to try the«ample sampler» for the beer since we had never sampled any. The portion was definitely ample and we were satisfied. The card you order from also advertises«50% off a fill of a growler.» We though«cool, we’ll use that and get a sampler of our favorite.» After finishing we asked for a growler of the«welsh braggot» only to be informed that this particular beer wasn’t included in the offer, that it was«too expensive to be sold for that low of a price.» We were also informed that we could purchase a case for $ 90 up the road at their bottling location. Say what? The scotch ale was also not included. Again, why advertise what you do not offer? Or why not lay out the exclusions, such as adding a simple asterisk and explaining that these beers are not included in your alleged promotion? Better yet, if they are so expensive to brew, why not take them off the sampler all together? It’s disappointing because we enjoyed most of the food as well as the beers. The Reuben was up to my boyfriends continental ranking and the fruit salad was filled with flavor. As for the beer, the welsh braggot and the current Brewers choice were very good. The cream stout left something to be desired, but they can’t all be winners. All in all, the food is tasty, the beer is good, there is just a lot of imaginary fine print.

Quick service and pretty good menu. There was a great selection of beer samples, and definitely didn’t skimp on the pours.

The ale was good, service was good, food could have been better. This local pub has the elements of a really good gastropub but misses the mark. The fish in my fish and chips was on the verge of uneatable. It had a fishy taste, telling me that it’s been out a day or two too long. I ate it because it wasn’t horrible and mentioned it to our server. In hindsight, I should have sent it back and ordered something else. The crisp on the batter was actually quite good, with a nice toothsome pull to it. If the haddock(why not use cod?) was fresher, it would have bee a good dish. The deep fried pickles was also didn’t do it for me. I’ve had this delight at other places at gotta say, slicing the pickle lengthwise and using a fresh tasting pickle isn’t the answer. The pickle needs to be briney, salty and on the older fermented side for it to hold up to deep frying. It should also be cut in circles allowing for a higher breading to pickle ratio. After all, we want the deep fried texture and flavor to shine! Again, the batter mix is pretty good, just didn’t have the right ingredient to deep fry. I’ve tried fish at several places in the Lake George area and so far it’s been disappointing. Having lived in Boston for 20+ years, I guess I’m spoiled with fresh fish because I can’t seem to find consistently fresh fish anywhere not near the ocean. No one seems to care enough to go that extra mile and pay for freshness if they want to put fish on their menus.

First time here left me wanting more! We sat in the upstairs bar a cozy space with a super nice/chill bartender. The beer flights are a great deal and so are the growlers. We took home an IPA, very tasty with beer snob’s(husband’s) stamp of approval. We ordered a valentines day special. Davidson brothers fried chicken and the works. I regret nothing. So flavorful, tender, but not enough that the crispy battered outsides slid off of the chicken. Finger licking, bone picking good. It came with broccolini and a beautiful square slice of buttered corn bread. Soul food heaven in the frozen north. Who would have thought? Can’t wait to go back for more. Thanks for great experience Davidson Brothers :)

I Unilocaled some option to have an early dinner on our roadtrip back to NYC from Lake George. I’m so glad I looked into this place, it certainly satisfied every craving we had! The place definitely feels local and has a warm inviting atmosphere. I dined here right in the middle of an ice storm so obvious outdoor seating wasn’t an option but if ever I return to the area during the summer I will be sure to come back and dine al fresco! This spot has my 5 stars!
