This place is amazing everything taste great and the service is some of the best I’ve ever had. My server was on top of everything and gave recommendations on menu items. The beef teriyaki is tender and juicy, the rolls were all presented beautifully and the flavors were all balanced very well. Definitely coming back.

I came here not knowing what to expect from some of the reviews. We arrived early on a weeknight, so the place was pretty empty. The front is not so impressive, but in the back, where the sushi chef’s are, is really cozy and inviting, and somehow seems very authentic. We did end up sitting in a booth, since it was a family meal, but next time I would want to sit at the sushi bar in back. Service was brisk, but friendly. Menu was refreshingly without the hyped up «buy 2 get 2 free» type of stuff that makes it so difficult for me to decide at some of these places. The do have AYCE, but I don’t go for that. I like to just order my appetizer, rolls, then maybe a salad on the side or something. This night we had 3 rolls and the Boy had his standby, Yakisoba Noodles, this time with beef. Everybody was happy with their meal. The yakisoba was done very well, and huge. The rolls were the uje. Cali Roll, a specialty roll(this time I think it was a baja or something, tuna with a jalapeño and a light ponzu sauce) and a spider roll. All were large and satisfying without feeling weighed down by heavy saucing. The fish tasted nice and fresh. For an appetizer, we had some of the crispiest tempura ever. Very very good! A nice scoop of green tea ice cream ended the meal well. Not the best restaurant décor, or layout, but a nice friendly neighborhood place with above-average sushi.

Rules… rules…rules! Did I mention they have«rules» on «ALLYOUCANEAT». This place was oooookay. Rolls were of low quality craft… Sushi bar was in the back, dimly lit and looked creepy. They need a little more space as well.

The spicy chicken is the best around, sushi is fresh and staff is friendly. My family has been going here for you 15 years and have never been dissatisfied. It’s all great but my favorite by far is the spicy chicken! Ask for special B you will love it!

Been eating here for thirty years and it’s had its ups and downs with changes in ownership over that time. I must say that tonight was the perfect blend of Hana Haru classic dishes cooked to perfection, paired with sushi that is light years better than their older offerings. The tataki roll was one of the best rolls I have ever had and I eat a lot of sushi. The fish was high quality and tasted as fresh as it gets. In fact in all my years of eating here, I would usually avoid the sushi and stick with the combination dinners. I was blown away by the improvements in their sushi menu and will be going back for their all you can eat option very soon. On their traditional combinations, I highly recommend the teriyaki plates. They were just like I’ve always remembered them. Super high quality chicken(all white meat — zero gristle) and beef with amazing tempura and a light broth-like sauce that you’ll want to slurp with a straw. Veteran tip: YOUMUST order a side of the spicy BBQ sauce to dip your meat and tempura in — it is out of this world! I cannot stress the importance of this sauce enough — it has changed my life. ;) We will be back soon, thanks for a very enjoyable meal.

Pretty bad service and food quality-wise Ordered Tempura/Chicken Teriyaki/Cali-Roll combo. The Tempura was overcooked and extremely greasy for a fried food. Chicken Teriyaki was not grilled, probably done on a skillet or something else, the sauce they used on top of it was soooo watered down. Horrible experience for a first timer. Sushi Umi is way better compared to this place.

This was the best sushi I have had in many years. We sat at the sushi bar in the back and Ricky was our chef. We had the ayce option and let Ricky do his thing. I was blown away. Before one dish was finished, another was handed out. Ricky shortly sears his sushi with a torch, which added a smokeyness that brought the dish to a whole new level. Fu$#ing awsome! I will be back… very soon… P. S. All of you haters giving less then 4 stars, please get off your snobby a$$ high horse, and go back to your«California roll”/“Rainbow Roll» joints… save this place for those who know what good sushi is. P. S.S. The service was fu#*ing fantastic!!!

This place is so super yum. Make sure you get the chef special all you can eat for $ 25. You will not be disappointed. It’s kind of like a little maze to get to the sushi bar and to the restroom but food is amaze balls. Ha!

I’ve been kinda skeptical about this place since it is under new management but we decided to try it out for lunch today. Two of us got the all you can eat«chef’s special«the chef kept making us sushi until we said stop. EVERYTHING we had was phenomenal! We immediately began calling everyone we knew to rave about it. In fact, thinking about how good it was now almost brings a tear to my eye. Ricky was our chef and he was awesome! Service was excellent! I will definitely be back!

First visit after a friend said to try them. Had the dragon roll. Lots of flavor, deep fried not greasy, fast friendly service, I like the sushi bar. Will come again, and if everything holds up I will give it 5/stars!

This is a small Japanese restaurant in the Sports Chalet strip mall. It has a Japanese seating area and tastes pretty authentic. The nice thing about this restaurant is that they are celebrating their anniversary and has an all you can eat program. I think if I were more hungry, I would have tried it. We had the teriyaki/tempura combination, which was a perfect lunch. Because Entertainment Book offers coupons for this restaurant, I would suggest waiting til around June to buy the book at around $ 10, and enjoy the summer eating in the San Gabriel Valley.

Had a great time eating here. Food ranges from simple to really good. The Monster roll was my favorite. The $ 24.99 all you can eat sushi was a great deal especially since it includes $ 0.99 saki. The only problem here was 1.) it’s a tight fit everywhere. In the sushi bar you have to seriously squeeze past people eating and to use the bathroom you have to squeeze past the staff at the front. There’s no going through the tables or around the front if there’s people there. 2.) Our service wasn’t so good. At first sitting down no one seemed to know what was going on or wanted to help us. After sitting, though, everyone was very friendly. It’s just that our waitress forgot things we ordered, took too long to bring things, didn’t check at the right time to see if we needed more drinks and didn’t ever bring some things we ordered. Nevertheless, we did like the place and I’ll be going back.

Wow, just wow. Review Date — 01/17/2014; Went in at 4:30. Spent 4 minutes in an empty dining room just to get menus, 2 minutes to receive our drink order. 13 minutes after we got our drinks our server returns to take our order. Starters, of course, are edamame and vegetable tempura. I ordered the beef yakisoba and a spicy tuna roll. My «beef» was freezer burned flank steak grilled with no seasoning. The yakisoba lacked in flavor. Very below average yakisoba. Oh yeah, my spicy tuna roll never came, asked our server to take it off my bill as well. The dinner portion of the #5 was smaller than the lunch portion… What? Couldn’t match the portions at least??? I am happy I made this mistake now, would suck to make this mistake if I were on a date. I gave it two stars to be kind to our server since she was training a new bus boy while, what seemed like, the manager was on her green covered smart phone. Thanks but no thanks.
