Quality has downgraded ever since Zankou has grown… when the pops(owner) was around things were diff. The menu has grown so there are more choices now which is great but get it right people it’s NOT Armenian food. Need proof? Tabouleh: from Arabic tabbūla . Hummous: from Arabic ummu . Moutabel(baba ganoush) Egyptian Arabic, from Arabic bābā, literally ‘father’ + gannuug, perhaps a personal name. Kefta: Arabic word Kabab: Arabic word… late 17th century: from Arabic kabāb, All the above is on google, SO enjoy ARABIC food at Zankou in Glendale. You don’t call a burrito Chinese food because an Asian guy owns a Mexican food place do you? BOTTOMLINE: I still eat here and love the«Arabic» food.

What can I say that hasn’t already been said? It’s the best chicken ever and the garlic sauce is just too good.

Omg. I have been coming to this place since I was a little kid. I have had everything on the menu but I always get the chicken tarna. The skin to that whole chicken though is so good. That garlic sauce will leave your breath tasting so bad but it’s worth it. I get some of that pita and dip big healthy scoops of hummus and that garlic sauce. If you have never been here you and you like chicken it’s worth checking out. Who doesn’t like chicken?

Always there for their shawrma wraps their chicken isn’t exactly to my taste and knowing you can get the whoolllleee cooked chicken for 6 bucks you think twice before paying like 15 for half. The interior is pretty outdated and could use a lot of improvements. Their other site in Burbank on the other hand looks amazing! This place looks like its stuck in the 90’s.

Get garlic sauce. Order anything. Done and done. Zankou is a staple for quality food full of flavor. Been going for over 20 years. Tarna wrap with extra pickles. Wash it down with some tahn. Can’t go wrong. Definitely a must if you’re in town. Heck drive a few miles and try this pace now!

There is no such thing as a bad meal at Zankou; could you just do us Armenians in the East Coast a favor and open up a shop in Boston? I PROMISE you you’ll be exploding with business! Seriously. The food is fantastic, flavorful and delicious, it’s fast food gone great! It’s like our first stop when we’re in the LA area from Boston. It’s usually Zankou then eventually In & Out. I could just do with the Zankou, everyday, all day. People ask me what makes this place so special: everything. You won’t eat chicken like this anywhere else, the marination, the presentation, it literally hits every tastebud imaginable during your gorging session and hours afterwards when you’re wanting more.

Ordered the family style meal which included a whole rotisserie chicken, a large cup of hummus, a large side of your choice, pickled turnips, a bag of pita bread, and garlic sauce! For the side, we decided to go with the tahini salad, which was delicious! We also ordered an extra large side of hummus. With this purchase, it came with extra pita bread. The total for everything was $ 25. Super cheap and affordable! This meal easily fed me, my 2 sisters, and my boyfriend. The garlic sauce is a definite MUST! Tbh, that’s what really makes zankou chicken so amazing. Mix the garlic sauce in with the hummus, and your mind will be blown away! Not but forreals. It’s amazingly delicious. You will have garlic breath for hours though :) So worth it. Service was great and very accommodating. I placed my order over the phone and was told it would be ready in 20 minutes. Upon arriving my order was all ready for pickup! Quick and easy. The only downside about this location is the lack of parking spots available, being that it’s located in a small shared plaza.

Super friendly place, in a fast food setting. I ordered the falafel dish which comes with 3 sides. The Falafel was really crunchy, but seemed overly salted. The babaganoush, hummus, radish, and rice was also too salty. Tabouleh was good however. My young nieces and nephews really liked the chicken that came with the family style meal, and looved the Garlic butter and pita bread. During our meal, one of the employees walked around the tables to make sure everything was ok. That’s great customer service. The meals were cheap and easy. Parking was easy. But won’t likely return unless I’m babysitting a group of hungry carnivores and happened to be in the Glendale area. Hit up Baklava factory nearby for dessert.

LOVE this location. Great staff and customer service. The chicken is always juicy and the vegetables always fresh. I’ve visited many Zankou locations in LA and can say this is one of the best! Parking is difficult to find around lunch time but it’s a breeze in the evenings. Clean location.

Visited 12÷23÷15 LOVE their food! Haven’t been here for awhile now and I noticed that the servings are a little smaller. The garlic dip is SO good! Use it on the chicken or the pita bread. Parking lot is shared with the other businesses, but there’s also underground parking.

I have been to several locations and this is by far the best Zankou when it comes to customer service. The staff are incredibly nice and attentive. There is one staff there, Perchuri, that pays attention to detail. She noticed I was carrying little containers from the Baklava place and offered a bag to put them in. But what really stood out was how she treated a customer with a physical disability. It was thoughtful and respectful. This is inclusion at it’s best and a great example of how individualizing service for each customer makes you want to go back. I observed the way she treated her coworkers and other customers and I sooo wanted to say some words of encouragement or give her a hug, but opted to write a long overdue review of this establishment. It has not failed that the service has always been excellent, thanks to employees like Perchuri.

Delicious food!!! That’s all I have to say about this place. My friend took me here for the first time and it took me forever to pick out what I wanted from the menu. We ended up getting two separate dishes and sharing it so that way I could try a little more :-) the meat is cooked to perfection — moist on the inside and nice and crispy on the outside. Everything is just so flavorful and especially their garlic sauce which is a must especially with the chicken!!!

This is the second time that I’ve had a terrible ordering experience. I called in an order for pickup and when we arrived the order had never been submitted to be cooked. Okay so now we are told to wait 20 minutes for it to be cooked. We pay and wait. The food comes out and we look in the box and it’s not correct, so we wait again. The exact same thing happened a few months ago. I didn’t do a Unilocal review because I am not interested in being negative when someone potentially simply made a mistake. Unfortunately for it to happen two consecutive times, I have to say something. There is no reason to offer pickup when you are going to treat the orders as a take out. Customers order pickup to save time. If you only put in orders after the customer pays, it’s just takeout. I love the food, but I will not come here again, I will certainly go somewhere else. There are way too many delicious Mediterranean restaurants in Glendale to put up with this nonsense.

Every time I come here, the staff are always nice. The food tastes great as well. I usually get the quarter chicken combo, white meat, with two salads as my side orders. Like everyone says, the garlic paste is a good addition to the chicken and the pita bread that comes with the combo. The chicken is fine without it; the skin is crispy and the meat moist. There are also some peppermints by the cashier to grab on the way out.

Not a fan. I got the quarter dark chicken plate and it was disappointing. I hate to complain, because my coworker was kind enough to buy me lunch today, BUT I have to let it all out. The portion was TINY. Small chicken leg, hummus, garlic spread, tiny portion of garden salad, and two pita breads. The pita breads were not even heated at all. If they are going to keep portions so small, they should include a side of rice or something. I was still hungry after I finished eating. What a waste of $ 8 + tax(for my coworker).

So after a long day, we decided to head down ZC. This is place is always busy, but if you come in at around 8:30pm-ish you should be okay. I like this place, it’s clean, the staff is pretty peppy, & a huge plus is their restroom is clean. The food is excellent. Meditteranean fast food. I love their chicken, of course it’s what their known for, but really the half chicken or even the whole chicken is really tasty. The best way to eat is right after its served. You eat it there so that you can still enjoy the crunchyness of the chicken skin. Whenever we take it to go which is most of the time, the skin becomes too soft because of the steam trapped inside their foil bag while being transported. So yes, enjoy your chicken there if you can, just a little tip for you. Their hummus, purple veggie thingies I dont know the name of, tabouleh, & of course the garlic spread is fantastic! If you haven’t already, you have to try this place. The louleh is dish is good to, but I personally enjoy their chicken. Located next to the Shell petrol station. Parking lot is almost always full but there is street parking also if you’re lucky. We are regulars at this ZC location.

OMG the garlic sauce! The rotisserie chicken itself wasn’t anything special but when you eat it with the garlic sauce, it changes everything. We had the kebobs as well and the garlic sauce does go well with it but it’s better with the rotisserie. The staff was really friendly and was willing to let us try things before we ordered. I wish they would open one in San Francisco. I would be there all the time. There’s additional parking underground.

I’m a huge fan of Zankou. This location has a good amount of seating but parking is pretty tough. There is now a sign outside directing customers to additional underground parking. It’s a good thing because parking up top is pretty sparse, especially for a place that has as so much traffic. I almost always order a kabob plate which has a 10 minute wait because they are cooked to order. My food is always fresh and delicious, never any issues. The service is fast and the food here is amazing… try it!!!

Not into the flavors on the meat here. The sweet cinnamon taste on the tri tip shawarma is a bit odd and a pass for me. The chicken usually a bit dry, but my son likes it. Service here was nice, the food took a bit to come out. Prices and portions are fair and I love their bread and garlic spread as well as the falafel. Location is a bit run down, but clean, no frills dining here. Hits the spot when I am in the mood for something different, but not worth going out of my way for.

I love Zankou! When I’m feenin for some good affordable chicken, this place always hits the spot. Their rotisserie chicken is one of my favorites in Los Angeles. It’s juicy and flavorful. They also have Mediterranean dishes such as kebabs(chicken, shush, lule and falafel), shawarma and tarna. My personal favorite is their chicken wrap which has shredded chicken with a big scoop of their delicious garlic sauce on a grilled pita… mmm mmm good y’all! On a budget? All of these items are very affordable. You can even buy a whole chicken for $ 10! The service is quick and always friendly. There are times when they get a little behind due to the crowds, but that hasn’t prevented us from going back for more. Go get your chicken grub on! Cheers!
