VJ is a gentleman and a true craftsman. Here’s just one story to show you what kind of a person VJ is. It was about 8pm and I needed a haircut but was half an hour away from the shop. VJ told me I’d probably arrive too late– and I knew it would be a long shot anyway. Five minutes later I get a call from a number I don’t know. It was VJ telling me to come by the shop– he had shuffled his schedule around to accommodate a haircut for me.
Cutting great hair is a default quality to look for in a barber, which you’ll find here. But to do what VJ did is a step above being a great barber.

I really wanted to like this place, because it’s so close to where I work. Unfortunately Vrej didn’t deliver. I called ahead to made a reservation for a beard trim, and he quoted me $ 10. He trimmed it the same way I would have at home, he took 15 minutes (rushed through it), then asked for $ 20. I told him you had said $ 10, and he said «no, sorry, $ 20.» I didn’t argue because I was in a rush. Not going back there again.

I asked for a hot shave. The gentlemen who claimed he was a barber came out with a shaving/​lather bowl filled with cold water and some tissue paper. He lathered my face with a wet tissue paper and proceeded to shave my face. Within the first minute, he cut me a few times. He did not follow my instructions, did not apply pre-​shave oils or even after shave. I was very disappointed with my experience. What a waste of $ 20. For those who are reading this review, please consider another barber in the Glendale area. Trust me. You’ll thank me later.

I dont understand how people give him 5 stars! Nothing good about this guy, he might be a nice guy but he charges $ 30 for shitty work! Maybe it just wasn my day! I wouldnt recommend!!! Probably OK place for old people.

VJ is simply put: amazing! He was able to give me an amazing hair cut based off my crude explanation of what I was looking for. I attribute his skills to knowing what types of hair cuts work for your face and head shape. He works with you to make sure you leaving looking fresh.

VJ Barbershop is the best! Vrej is extremely fast and precise. Great hair cut every time! Walk in service is available, and even if there’s someone ahead of you, you won’t have to wait long.

This is my second review for Vrej, and it’s still going to be a 5 star! He’s the best barber I’ve been too, and he really cares for each person he grooms. He won’t do anything without your approval, and he also gives you his personal recommendations, but he wont do anything without your consent. You want a lifetime barber? Come check out VJ barber!

I know him for the longest time, im 32 and i have been his client since i was 16 or 17. I can say he is one of the best in Los angeles. Humble, kindhearted, informative and updated… He knows his job pretty well. I do recommend you to go check out his work …

VJ is amazing! Having the right barbar is hard to find. I only change barbars when needed however, I’ve been coming to VJ for 7 years already and never have once tried someone new. He’s up to date with styles and I’ve changed styles a few times and he’s got it correct every time I tried something new. His place is extremely clean which is hard to find at other places I’m sure. He’s very professional and very kind. He’s able to give the celebrity cut at a much much lower price. Highly recommend.
